She sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her journey of liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on May 16, 2025.
Lay Practitioner Huang Wang Yumei speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I have finally returned to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have waited such a long time for this day to arrive. I am so moved that I cannot stop the tears from falling. In my heart, I keep chanting the name of Namo Amituofo, marvelling at how incredibly compassionate the Buddha is, and how compassionate Practitioner Su is as well. If Practitioner Su had not reached out to guide me, I would never have found my way back. I would have been trapped in the cycle of rebirth, destined to suffer endlessly. Thinking of this, I start weeping again. It is a feeling of such profound gratitude and being deeply touched."
The Chasm Between Life and Death
"Only after I passed away did I truly realise the massive difference between having a physical body and being without one. The life one leads with a body and the existence one experiences without one are completely different. It is as if we are beings from two entirely separate worlds.
When I saw my daughter-in-law, I recognised her immediately—she is the daughter-in-law I had in this life. I knew she had come to see me, to help guide me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
The Patience of the Spirit
"I was not originally scheduled to return to the Western Land today. I had wanted to come earlier, but the Master told me that my daughter-in-law in the human world wished to send me off, so I waited. I did not leave immediately; I waited until she arrived, and then Practitioner Su guided me to the West. I finally got my wish. In truth, I was not in a hurry, because I knew that Practitioner Su would certainly be able to guide me, and staying there allowed me to listen to Practitioner Su’s talks for a little longer.
Speaking of listening to the Dharma, during the time I spent in the Western Land of Dharma Nature at Practitioner Su’s centre, I learned so much. In particular, when I saw my own past, I finally understood how painful the cycle of rebirth is! I have spent many lifetimes as an animal; I have even been a pig. I saw a pig in the vision, and I realised that the pig was me. I do not know how to describe that feeling—I just wanted to cry. How could the cycle of rebirth be so terrifying? I am so fortunate that I have been rescued."
A Plea to the Living
"I want to tell my daughter-in-law: you must hold onto the Buddha tightly. Follow the Buddha’s teachings and walk the path of the Buddha. The human body has a time limit, but where will you go after you die? If you do not return to the Western Land, you will be forced to wander in the cycle of rebirth. It is simply not worth it!
Every person’s body is filled with spirits. I can see this very clearly now. My son’s body is full of them, and my daughter-in-law’s body is also completely covered with them. Let us talk about my son first. I see that his body is riddled with illness. With such a suffering body, why does he not understand the need to change his personality traits? Perhaps it is difficult to change, or perhaps he simply does not know what to change. How could people in the world know what traits to transform? Without listening to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks and without experiencing true suffering for oneself, it is very difficult to change. I do not know if he will listen to my words, but I am at peace with the situation now. I just want to tell my son: you only have one body, and it is precious. If you can diligently chant Namo Amituofo, listen to the Dharma, and change your personality traits, you will not have to suffer."
The Weight of Spiritual Attachment
"As for my daughter-in-law, when I saw her arrive, I did not recognise her at first. Perhaps it is because I have been gone for some time, and many of my memories no longer reside in my spirit, but only in that physical body. Beyond that, it is because my daughter-in-law has changed so much.
She has so many spirits attached to her—all kinds of spirits. From her head to her toes, and inside her body, there is not a single place that is empty. I hope my daughter-in-law will not overthink things and will stop running around everywhere. Nowadays, there is nowhere without spirits; they are everywhere, and they will all attach themselves to you. When there are too many spirits on , the body becomes ill. Walking becomes heavy, you feel exhausted, your memory likely fades, your appearance ages, and you will grow older and older. Although the human body naturally ages, a body with spiritual attachments ages much faster. I see everyone’s body aging like this now, and it is absolutely terrifying!
I believe that since my daughter-in-law came here, she has seen that Practitioner Su truly practices very well. Look at how old I looked before I passed away, but look at Practitioner Su—already eighty-one years old, yet she is as vibrant as a young person. She speaks louder than young people and has more energy than them. I believe my daughter-in-law has seen all of this. This is what a true practitioner looks like; even when one is very old, one can still cultivate the vitality of a young person."
The Path to Purification
"I envy Practitioner Su. If I had had the opportunity to hear such Dharma while I was alive, and if I had known that I needed to change myself and cultivate myself, perhaps I would not have left the world in that state, and I would not have aged so quickly. I no longer have that chance; the body is gone, and everything is gone. Fortunately, I have the great to have arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and I am so, so grateful. However, my daughter-in-law still has her body. Although it has many spiritual attachments, as long as there is still a breath of life, she can slowly help her body purify. These spirits can be invited out, and her appearance will also become younger.
I hope my daughter-in-law can focus her mind and truly believe in the Buddha. Do not fill your heart with so many trivial matters, and do not think so much. Properly chant Namo Amituofo into your heart, and help the Buddha propagate the Dharma; this is how you can repay the Buddha’s kindness."
Namo Amituofo. Huang Wang Yumei bows in reverence."
