This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Liang Huiqun, the mother of Lay Practitioner Gu Yu. She sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her journey through the cycle of reincarnation and her eventual deliverance. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on October 17, 2025.
Lay Practitioner Liang Huiqun speaks:
". After wandering through the cycle of reincarnation for so long, I have finally returned home. I am now in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I hope my daughter can feel at ease and find peace of mind; she no longer needs to worry about me.
I am filled with gratitude for Practitioner Su’s great compassion in bringing me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I did not know Practitioner Su personally, yet he still compassionately saved me. I am also deeply thankful to my daughter for arranging the Chao Du ceremony for me; it was only through her efforts that I could be rescued by Practitioner Su.
I am not a woman of many words, and I am unsure what to say. Having left the human world, I am not entirely sure what people today wish to hear. Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I look back upon my many lifetimes of wandering in the cycle of reincarnation, and I realise how painful that cycle truly is.
In this lifetime as a human, I considered myself to be a simple, honest person. I worked very hard to take care of my children and my family. This is the nature of life, and many people are just like me. When I was approaching the end of my life, my thoughts were constantly fixed on my family. I wanted to stay with them, yet I did not realise that after death, one is left entirely alone. There is no one left to accompany you.
This is why the cycle of reincarnation is so profoundly lonely; there is absolutely no one who can stay by your side. In truth, once you have passed away, there is no longer any need for such attachments. After all, the space you inhabit is entirely different. It is as if you are in a completely separate world, and there is no longer any intersection between your life and theirs.
I am now a resident of the Western Land. I call myself a disciple of the Buddha, and I practise by chanting Namo Amituofo very diligently—perhaps even more diligently than my daughter does. I know that my daughter is also chanting and reciting sutras; she is very earnest. Now, I too understand the vital importance of chanting Namo Amituofo, and I find great in doing so.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude; I am truly, deeply grateful. I do not have much more to say, other than to express my heartfelt thanks. My daughter, please convey my deepest gratitude to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, to Practitioner Su, and to everyone there.
Namo Amituofo.
Liang Huiqun bows in reverence."
