The Messenger of Pure Human Goodness

An Interview with Steve Jobs

The Sixteenth Letter

This is a record of an interview with Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his life and his transition into a messenger of goodness. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on August 26, 2017.

Steve Jobs speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. Looking out at the vast, clear sky here, there is not a single cloud to be seen. The clarity and transparency of this realm are truly liberating, allowing the heart to feel completely at ease. Throughout my life, I was always driven by work. I, Steve Jobs, never once paused my life’s relentless pace to truly observe the wonders of the universe or the myriad things of nature. I was simply buried deep within the space of product development, researching with a near-manic intensity.

I did not realise then that the heavens and the earth are our greatest teachers, serving as symbols of the vitality of life itself. It is a profound lament that, in order to achieve what I thought was success, I paid such an enormous price. My life was a combination of successful public accolades and a failing, broken body. When I look back and weigh it all up, I have to conclude that my life was a series of negative outcomes—a life defined by failure after failure."

A Life of Frantic Achievement

"Over these past few days in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have had the opportunity to observe my benefactor in the human world, Practitioner Su. Many ask, why is he already referred to as a Buddha? During these past few days, I have witnessed this Buddha taking on the full weight of responsibility for the negative created by modern technology. He is doing this because he wants to save technology itself. He aims to reverse the harm that technology has inflicted upon humanity and to rescue those who wish to be saved.

Of course, those who hold grudges against him will not simply stand by; they come to him, seeking to settle their accounts. It sounds like a scene from a movie, does it not? Yet, it is entirely real. This has caused him extreme physical discomfort, yet he has broken through these barriers. It is a level of endurance that an ordinary person could never sustain, yet he has persevered through it all. I, Steve Jobs, have never seen a person like this. His selfless contribution, without ever considering his own personal gain, is the reason he can be called a Buddha today. It is a status earned through immense, tireless effort."

The Selfless Sacrifice of Practitioner Su

"This kind of positive, upright life is deeply meaningful. I do not say this to flatter him; I say it because I am truly grateful to him. He is my benefactor. What I want to convey is this: the path one chooses to walk in life is entirely up to oneself. Do you want to live like Steve Jobs did—achieving fame and success, yet causing all of humanity to become obsessed with the internet and mobile phones, ultimately leading to a very hollow and failed conclusion? Or would you prefer to live a life of mediocrity, lost in the pursuit of material pleasure, trapped in the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, and death, without any real contribution or help to society?

Alternatively, you could choose to fully realise your potential, helping all of humanity while remaining completely at ease and free. You are welcome to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to learn how to realise your greatest potential while maintaining such profound inner freedom. It is not that I do not wish to share more, but I am still learning, so I cannot yet teach you the full extent of it. The people here possess true attainment. The prerequisite for this attainment lies in having a heart of absolute sincerity toward others. Even when one is doubted, disbelieved, or even slandered, one remains sincere. This is the true attainment of this place."

The Attainment of Sincerity

"It sounds very simple, but in today’s society, it is rare to find such people, which is why I call it a true attainment. If everyone’s heart could become simple and pure, many of the problems in our society would naturally cease to exist. The human heart should not be corrupted. We are all originally angels, and we are all originally Buddhas. This is what I have learned since arriving in the pure and good Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Please allow me to share a little of what I have learned every day.

In the past, Steve Jobs always stood on the stage at a fixed time for Apple’s new product launches. Now, I am holding a 'Western Land of Ultimate Bliss Learning Launch.' I invite everyone to pay close attention and help promote my articles. I can transform myself into a writer who promotes goodness. Although I may not have the elegant prose of a professional writer, I have the name recognition and influence of Steve Jobs. I am now transitioning into a messenger who maintains social peace and promotes the purity and goodness of the human heart."

A New Product Launch: The Messenger of Goodness

"Please support me, just as you supported Apple products in the past. I will work hard at this. Supporting me now does not require you to spend money like you did when buying my products. All you need to do is take the good things I say and teach, and spread them far and wide. Help me increase my readership; that is the best support you can give to Steve Jobs. In the past, when I ran a company and launched new products, I was second to none. Now that I have become a messenger of pure human goodness, I certainly will not be any less effective. I have confidence in myself, and I ask those who have loved me to have confidence in me as well. I am eternally grateful. Namo Amituofo."

Signed, Steve Jobs
