The Path of Fierce Diligence and Returning to Nothingness
Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju
The Necessity of Continuous Diligence
The path of practice is not a sprint that one completes in a single moment of inspiration. It is a marathon of the spirit that requires fierce diligence, which must be sustained without interruption. Even for those who have already realised their true nature, such as Practitioner Su, there is no room for complacency. Today, even with Namo Amituofo truly abiding at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, one must remain vigilant and humble. We must apply ourselves with unwavering focus and a sense of deep responsibility, especially when performing the sacred work of .
Namo Amituofo is always by our side, offering support and protection. Through this divine presence, we are able to lead infinite suffering beings into the light. To walk this path, one must be grounded and practical in every action. Diligence is not a temporary state of mind; it is a commitment to be renewed, moment after moment, day after day.
Resolving Karmic Debts
Throughout our accumulated lifetimes, we have formed many connections, including those with . If these beings appear in your life today, do not view them as obstacles to be feared. Instead, recognise them as beings who are waiting to be saved. You must meet this challenge with fierce diligence, using methods such as prostrations to dissolve your past .
As you practise, you must also rely on the Buddha-light to guide these beings into the light of Namo Amituofo. This is the only way to truly resolve past grievances and achieve the dual goal of self-liberation and the salvation of others. This process of resolution requires a persistent and steady heart, ensuring that your practice remains consistent and focused on the ultimate goal of rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The Six Paramitas and the Path to Buddhahood
To ensure that we are reborn in the Three Good Realms and eventually attain the highest fruit of the Buddha's path, we must follow the teachings of the Bodhisattvas. The Six Paramitas are the essential pillars of our practice:
- Generosity: Giving freely of our time, resources, and to benefit all beings.
- Discipline: Maintaining the to keep our body, speech, and mind pure.
- Patience: Enduring the hardships of life without resentment or anger.
- Diligence: Applying ourselves with constant, unwavering effort toward our spiritual goals.
- Meditation: Cultivating a still, focused mind that is not easily swayed by external dusts.
- Wisdom: Developing the profound insight that allows us to see the true nature of reality.
When these six perfections are fully realised and integrated into your daily life, the path to Buddhahood becomes clear and attainable.
The Process of Purification
The path of practice is a journey of constant refinement. Every single second is a precious opportunity for growth and for the elevation of your spirit. You must be willing to examine your personality, changing it again and again until all traces of ego have vanished. This is the essence of purification, and then more purification.
Strive to increase your goodness, deepen your compassion, and allow your wisdom to unfold continuously. By doing so, you will surely reach the time of your own . Let your practice be a reflection of your sincerity, and may you always walk the path of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. Namo Amituofo.
