These teachings were recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, during the held on 5 August 2022. Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju provides us with a clear roadmap for our spiritual journey, reminding us that while the world is filled with endless complexity, our practice must remain focused and pure.

The Beauty of Simplicity

The world is vast and filled with a multitude of phenomena, yet the path of practice is one of refinement. We must strive for goodness, and then refine that goodness even further. Returning to our original, simple state is the common goal for all practitioners. Ultimately, it is this simplicity that brings us closest to our true self. This is a rare and precious natural quality. We must protect this purity and ensure that it does not become stained by the dust of the world. Maintaining this innocence is a vital part of our daily practice.

The Power of Group Prostrations

When we engage in group prostrations, we must learn to let go of our attachments. We should release everything, leaving no trace of worry or desire within the heart. When the heart is pure, the necessary skills for our practice will naturally manifest. Through the act of prostrations, we allow the heart to become pure, and the accumulated dust and stains upon our body and mind are gradually removed.

Clearing the Obstacles of the Mind

In the past, we have been locked away by our own karmic debts and deep-seated confusion. However, when we develop true awareness, we can unlock these chains and watch as the illusory appearances of the world dissolve. Once these illusions fade, we can finally see the truth, which is naturally present within us. This is the clarity that comes from a mind that has been cleansed through sincere practice.

Resolving and Transforming

Many of us carry the weight of and various beings within our bodies who seek resolution. When we are bathed in the Buddha’s light, our hearts can finally find peace. We must engage in diligent practice and offer our prostrations as a form of repentance for our past transgressions. By doing so, we resolve our grievances and clear the path for better practice. It is also essential that we work on transforming our personality. We must start from the most difficult areas to remove the stains of our habits. By speaking less and engaging in constant self-reflection, we ensure that our practice continues to progress steadily. Namo Amituofo.
