This is a record of an interview with the spirit known as the Plague God, Zhou Chuanfu, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his experiences during the global pandemic and his past life as a victim of human experimentation. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on March 11, 2020.

Zhou Chuanfu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Zhou Chuanfu. Yesterday, I heard a voice echoing through the space: 'There are plague gods in many places now; it is because human hearts have gone bad.' As soon as I heard these words, I immediately sensed they were coming from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. I set aside my work—directing viruses to possess human bodies—and hurried over to see what kind of divine being had the ability to speak such truths. The whole world is currently scrambling with medical isolation, yet no one has been able to point out the root cause of this epidemic so clearly. I went to investigate, and I found a person called Practitioner Su. Light radiated from his body, and he possessed the great power and great vows of a Buddha. I never expected to find such an extraordinary person in this place.

A Discovery at Hsiang Kuang

I had never known that worldly people possessed such skills. When he saw me, he was not afraid in the slightest. With just a single word and a clap of his hands, he was able to send us into this place—a sanctuary for sentient beings called the Western -Nature Land. It is incredibly peaceful here. After listening to the Sutras twice, given by Practitioner Su, I am compelled to say: 'If the people of this world would only believe what Practitioner Su says, the world could be saved!'

Who am I? I am the one who spread the virus during the Wuhan outbreak; I am the Plague God, Zhou Chuanfu. I have a name, a family, and a past—a past that is too painful to remember. Practitioner Su asked to interview me about why I became a plague god. I did not want to recall or mention it, but my heart is so calm right now; the magnetic field here has changed me. There is a past for every present. After listening to the Sutras and hearing the Dharma here, my heart is much more at peace; otherwise, I would never have spoken of those heart-wrenching past events.

The Tragic Origin: A Human Guinea Pig

I am not an evil god; I exist to maintain the balance of good and evil in the world. Practitioner Su said, 'Only the Buddha can save us from this pandemic.' Before this, if I had heard such a thing, I would have called him an arrogant and conceited fellow for daring to say such things! But after what I experienced yesterday and today, I have changed my perspective. I have been restored to the normal appearance of a kind man from when I was human, rather than the experimental subject who died beyond recognition after being used for bacterial experiments.

During the Second World War, I was a poor man. My parents were seriously ill, and I was desperate for money. Amidst the chaos of war, some people exploited human weaknesses. I 'sold my life' for money. Together with other recruits, I was gathered in one place, and cultivated bacterial strains were injected into my body. They wanted to see how far the disease would progress. Then, they would inject me with medicine to see if they were effective or not. They recorded everything—which symptoms improved and which did not.

I was a guinea pig—but even more exposed and vulnerable because I was human. I was ravaged with scars, holes, body painfully deformed, suffering unspeakably. No one heard my heart crying. I was angry and resentful, but there was no turning back. I was controlled; I was fed, injected with medicine, and monitored on a schedule. When my body could no longer endure such treatment, I breathed my last. When I died, my body was rotten and swollen, and people, fearing germ transmission, burned us to ashes! These humans were so cruel! They treated their own kind this way, let alone other beings! My soul was more painful than my body. After I died, the soul's appearance was as it was before death. I remained in the laboratory in the same state; I could not find liberation. A force transformed my anger into a retaliatory force—a power that gave me the ability to control the distribution of bacteria and viruses. From that time on, I was branded with the name of Plague God.

The Nature of the Virus and

The epidemic is so urgent because that is the only way to achieve its purpose of taking lives! Every virus cell is sentient; they are cells polluted by human hearts—mutated cells. They no longer know what goodness is; they only know how to divide and divide again. Their speed of division is as rapid as the changes and cruelty in human hearts. No matter how clever people are, they cannot develop vaccines or treatments fast enough to counter us. If we did not act this way, how could we give people a deep warning? Human panic is our goal. People can selfishly manipulate and control those who are powerless to fight back, but they never expected that after these controlled subjects died, they would gather together to become a retaliatory force. Now, these people have become the targets of that retaliation. Everything is a matter of karmic retribution.

Who can resolve the variability of these cells and restore their normal life? Only by changing human hearts and restoring one's good nature can this pandemic truly be resolved. Following the natural truth is the only way to survive. To survive, humans have conducted many experimental projects, harming countless innocent lives! I deeply believe that those who planned and participated in those experiments are already suffering retribution in hell, as these are not things a normal human heart would do. They cannot escape the suffering of the heart-gouging hell, the brain-gouging hell, and the wolf-devouring hell. Others have already reincarnated and become part of this virus, because attack and destruction are their nature—birds of a feather flock together. If they are human now, they are the primary targets for infection. Although they do not know what they did in their past lives, regardless, one must pay the price for one's actions. This is the fairness of .

The Only Path to Salvation

There are many others who have shown no mercy to life for the sake of selfishness, wealth, and fame, or to develop even more lethal agents. These people are now in a desperate situation, filled with fear, because no matter how capable humans think they are, there is always someone better; there is always a higher authority. The world of bacteria and viruses is the same. What they have done will not be erased; it leaves memory traces. We search for these marks, just like when we were marked during those experiments. As long as people do not change their hearts—to a heart of , a heart that is not selfish—we can mutate without limit. Those who are infected and die are not innocent; it is all due to karmic retribution. People only see this lifetime and do not see what they did in past lives. People with evil hearts and ill-behaved actions are the primary targets for this disease. It was already destined. The pandemic has only just begun; people must pay the price for the innocent lives they harmed in the past!

As Practitioner Su said, 'Only the Buddha can save us from this pandemic.' After a day of personal transformation, I believe this is true. This is truly beyond our expectations; I never thought a true Buddha would appear in the human world. Only the sincerity of a true Buddha can stop this pandemic, restore the bacteria to their original good nature, and awaken human hearts. Changing one's heart and repenting for past wrongs is one of the methods of resolution. Viruses have memories. Those who have harmed them, those who are just as poisonous and selfish as they are, have a natural attraction to the virus—the principle that like attracts like is a truth of the universe. And those who are marked for infection cannot escape their fate! Only in this way will humans, who think they are so clever, feel fear and face death. This is the purpose of the great counterattack by the viruses.

The Power of the Buddha-Heart

If I had not been subdued by Practitioner Su and brought here to the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre; if Practitioner Su had not restored my original, handsome, and normal appearance; if I had not heard the Sutras and seen the Buddha-light before my eyes, which softened my previously hard and resentful heart, I could never have said these things. This must be an extremely good and powerful energy, even an unimaginable force of change, to be able to achieve this. I came to take lives, not to save them. The changes of this day have been too fast, too great! That is the heart of the Buddha's great compassion; while the heart that is selfish—that kills people and bacteria for the sake of its own survival—is the heart of a demon. Only the Buddha-heart understands the demonic heart and can save the demonic heart; only then can this disaster be resolved!

Of course, there is more than one plague god; we are spread all over the world. Arrogant people who think they are clever should know: as long as human hearts have not changed, any place can become a source of an epidemic. The duty of a plague god is to dominate and control the development of the pandemic and direct the movement of mutated viruses. Whether it is bacteria or viruses, they are all life; the difference in names is merely a human discrimination. To us, they are all individual entities that can be spread from small places to everywhere, either individually or collectively. We only need to distribute a small amount to trigger the viruses in the air to mutate and divide. They can then gain the same ability as us to destroy 's respiratory tract and immune function. This is our capability. There has never been such a destructive virus before, catching people unprepared. People take very high precautions and maintain vigilance against us, but people can only passively defend, while we have the ability to actively attack. Who is strong and who is weak? One can get a glimpse of the whole picture from this.

Here, I can hear the chanting of 'Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo' at any time. Is it the power of Namo Amituofo that has allowed me to change? I have to believe in what has happened to me."

"Namo Amituofo."
