The Sacred Gathering of the Fourfold Assembly

Thursday is designated as the day for group prostrations at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. On this day, the fourfold assembly of disciples gathers in the Buddha hall with sincerity and devotion. As we practise together, everyone is embraced by the radiant Buddha-light. This light works to remove the turbid, polluted energy that has accumulated within our bodies over countless lifetimes. As these impurities are extinguished and the seeds of Goodness arise, our true, pure nature begins to manifest.

The Physical and Spiritual Transformation

With every recitation of the Buddha-name, we rise and prostrate. As we bow down, every pore of opens to receive the of the Buddha. The internal organs and cells are revitalised, and the stagnant energy often trapped in the shoulders and back is released. Through this process, the beings who have been attached to us can receive the Buddha-light. They are welcomed into the light, liberated from our bodies, and successfully undergo to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Maintaining Purity After the Practice

Prostrating to the Buddha is a profound method for the purification of the body, heart, and spirit. You must cherish and protect this precious life you have been given. After the prostrations are complete, you must continue to guard your body, speech, and mind with great care. Do not look for the faults of others, as doing so only gives rise to unnecessary afflictions. Do not let anger trigger internal disturbances, as this would only attract more beings and spiritual attachments to your path. It would be a great pity to waste the purification you have gained through your sincere efforts in prostrating to the Buddha. Always remember to chant Namo Amituofo.
