The Profound Grace of Group Prostrations

Every Thursday evening, from six to nine o'clock, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre holds its group prostration sessions. These are not merely physical movements; they are profound spiritual gatherings that transcend the ordinary world.

The Holy Assembly Awaits

When you enter the Buddha hall, you are not entering an empty space. Namo Amituofo, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, and the vast assembly of pure beings from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are already there. They are waiting for you, ready to receive your devotion and support your journey toward awakening.

The Radiance of Buddha-light

As the session begins with the three traditional prostrations, the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo begins to shine everywhere. It permeates the Buddha hall, the earth, and every corner of the space. It is a light of infinite compassion and healing, washing over all who are present.

Cultivating a Heart of Respect

I counsel all disciples to arrive at the Buddha hall at least ten minutes early. This is a simple but essential way to express your respect and gratitude. When you arrive early, you settle your mind and prepare your heart to receive the blessings of the holy assembly, ensuring that your practice is grounded in sincerity.

The Liberation of Karmic Creditors

As you follow the chanting of the Buddha-name and perform each prostration, a remarkable transformation occurs among the karmic creditors and those with spiritual attachment who accompany you. Their reactions to the Buddha-light vary:

• Some follow you in performing the prostrations, learning to turn their hearts toward the Buddha.
• Some are received by the Buddha the moment they are bathed in the Buddha-light during a prostration.
• Some remain lonely and continue to follow by your side, waiting for their moment of clarity.
• Some enter the Buddha-light in great, joyous groups, finally finding their way home.

It is truly a cause for great joy to witness these beings finding their path. At this very moment, they become part of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! This is the boundless, infinite compassion of our Buddha, working tirelessly to save all beings. Namo Amituofo.
