During the held on July 26, 2020, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, we were blessed with profound teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju. The theme of this discourse was the nature of true —a state of being that transcends worldly circumstances and leads us back to our original, pure nature.
The Radiance of Joy
When we approach life with a joyful heart, we respond to every situation with happiness. We must realise that, in the grand scope of the , we are all one family gathered together. Our primary task is to unravel the many layers of confusion that have long clouded our hearts. When this confusion is finally cleared away, we reach a state of pure, unattached awareness—a state of no-mind where the true nature shines through.
It is a great joy to find one's way back to the Buddha-heart. Once you have realised this, you may choose to return to the murky, troubled world from which you came, not to be lost, but to serve as a beacon. Let the pure light of the Buddha illuminate the darkest corners of this world. Together, we can reveal the Buddha-heart within all beings and guide them toward the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
A Cosmic Gathering
The Thrice Yearning Ceremony at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is an event of immense spiritual significance. With Namo Amituofo presiding as the lead of the ceremony and Practitioner Su guiding the assembly, the entire Dharma Realm is moved. Beings from the six realms of existence and the four sages all arrive to witness this sacred occasion. Whether from this world or other realms, across the vast expanse of time and space, the barriers of existence are opened. Countless spirits gather here, their hearts filled with infinite joy, all seeking . Under the compassionate guidance of Namo Amituofo, an immeasurable number of beings are led toward rebirth in the Western Pure Land.
From Confusion to
By listening to the sutras and studying the teachings, we gradually gain insight. Where there was once confusion, there is now sudden awakening. When you truly understand the meaning of this joy, you will experience a sense of Dharma joy that is beyond words. This is the fruit of your practice—a transformation that turns confusion into awakening, wrong paths into the right path, and impurity into purity.
Harmony and the Universal Heart
True practice manifests in the harmony between people. When your heart is calm and steady, you naturally radiate peace. When you are well, and others are well, then everyone is well. This harmony naturally gives rise to a joyful heart. When a smile blossoms from within, it reflects the infinite, boundless heart of the Buddha. May we all continue to practise diligently, keeping our hearts open and our spirits aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
