The Vastness Within the Minute

Although we may describe certain phenomena as minute, in the ultimate reality of the Realm, they are not truly small. For those sentient beings who are even more minute than what we can perceive, this scale is as vast and boundless as the entire Dharma Realm itself. For those sentient beings who exist at a level of existence beyond our comprehension—those who are even more minute than the minute—this space is as expansive and endless as the cosmos. Therefore, I ask you to treat all sentient beings with the utmost respect.

The Hidden Multitude

Beyond the beings that are visible or invisible to the human eye, there exist countless, uncountable sentient beings within these minute and even more minute spaces. Every single one of these beings possesses the same true self and Buddha-nature as the Buddhas, the sages, and all those who are currently reincarnated within the cycle of rebirth. It is only because they have fallen into states of confusion and delusion that they are now experiencing the karmic consequences of existing as beings within these minute spaces.

The Universal Buddha-Nature

Many of these beings once walked the path of the human world, yet they have now become sentient beings dwelling in these minute dimensions. I, Namo Amituofo, know and see all of this clearly. Because of this, I view every single being as a Buddha. Regardless of how they act, where they reside, or what form they manifest, no matter how minute or inconspicuous they may appear, I would never dare to disregard, offend, or treat them with anything less than complete respect.

The Karmic Path of Delusion

These beings possess the same Buddha-nature and innate potential as the Buddhas. They have only arrived at their current state because they strayed from the right path, became lost in delusion, and created negative causes that led to the evil consequences of their present existence. Furthermore, these sentient beings residing in minute spaces were, in the distant past, once Buddhas themselves, or perhaps they were once your own family members.

Respecting All as Ourselves

I know this truth, and today I share it with all of you. It is my sincere hope that, upon knowing this, you will be able to follow the example of the Buddhas and never again disregard, offend, or harm any sentient being. Do not treat any being with rudeness or contempt. To disregard, offend, or harm any sentient being is, in truth, to disregard, offend, and harm your own true self. To treat any being with rudeness is to treat yourself with rudeness. Conversely, to respect all sentient beings is to respect your own original nature.
