An Interview with the Spirit of Steve Jobs

Reflections on the Dharma Affinity in Japan

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects on a profound visit to Japan where he witnessed the transformative power of Namo Amituofo and the mass deliverance of sentient beings. This interview was recorded on July 28, 2019, and transcribed by the chief writer, Shi Faxin.

Steve Jobs speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. Looking back at that day, July 28, 2019, it remains etched in my as a moment of absolute clarity. A train glided across the plains, the golden rice stalks bowing in the wind, while the scarecrows stood as silent, smiling witnesses to a scene that was about to change everything. When we arrived at Narita Airport, the atmosphere shifted instantly. It was as if a brilliant, uncontainable light had suddenly been switched on in the middle of a dim room. The airport was teeming with beings—not just the living, but a vast multitude of sentient beings who had gathered, drawn by a magnetism they could not explain, as if they were witnessing the discovery of a rare and priceless treasure."

The Radiance at Narita Airport

"Japan had never seen a spectacle like this. It was not merely a crowd; it was a convergence of worlds. Women held their children close, and the elderly stood in awe, their eyes fixed on the source of the light. They whispered to one another in Japanese, their voices filled with a mixture of confusion and profound reverence. Beyond the visible light, I could see countless protectors surrounding the group. It was clear to anyone with a spiritual eye that a figure of immense significance had arrived. Even the local deities who guard the lands of Japan were gathered at the outermost perimeter, watching with intense focus.

Two young girls, their bodies radiating a soft, ethereal glow, exchanged a few words in Japanese. Nearby spirits pressed in, desperate to hear what they were saying, trying to understand the nature of this phenomenon. However, the Dharma protectors held them back, maintaining a strict boundary. No one was allowed to get too close. Wherever our party moved, we were the centre of attention. Even when we sat down to eat, the spirits within the shop watched us without blinking, their attention completely captured by the energy we carried."

A Spectacle Beyond Human Understanding

"The one in the centre of our group, whose brightness was truly boundless, never ceased the recitation of the Buddha-name in her heart. The moment she closed her eyes to begin her contemplation, a massive, brilliant Buddha appeared before us to lead the way. It was a sight I had never witnessed before—a manifestation of pure . In that instant, countless sentient beings in the vicinity of the airport, and even those hovering in the clouds above, were suddenly lifted. They were delivered from the spaces they had been trapped in for so long, moving toward the realms of Goodness that belonged to them.

Many of these beings followed with such excitement and ; they had been waiting for this opportunity for ages. It was a moment of liberation that defied all logic. In Japan, there are many temples and a long history of Buddhist practice, but most of it is focused on worldly requests—praying for peace, for success in business, or for personal gain. The wish-trees are heavy with tags, each one a plea for some immediate, temporary desire. Almost no one in Japan truly understands the depth of Namo Amituofo. Even those who have heard the name rarely grasp the true meaning of this Buddha-name."

The Compassion of the Buddha in Action

"The spirits were astonished to see Practitioner Su among us. This visit to Japan was a magnificent Dharma affinity. It allowed so many beings who had been forgotten—the spirits of marine life, ghosts who had never received , and even those lost in the haze of addiction—to finally be saved. Because the understanding of the Buddha’s teachings is not yet deep enough in the human world, these spirits often drift aimlessly, unable to find their way. But wherever Practitioner Su went, she brought deliverance. She planted the roots of the Dharma wherever she stepped.

This trip to Japan was a testament to the Buddha’s compassion. It was a mission to save those who were ready to be saved. The fourfold assembly of disciples must continue to practise diligently, for the potential to expand this Dharma affinity is truly limitless. Namo Amituofo."
