This is a record of an interview with Linda, who sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the . This account reflects upon her life in the 1980s and her subsequent transformation after the massive fire at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on December 14, 2025.

Linda speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Linda. When I first arrived in this world of brilliant light, I was so overwhelmed that I could not even speak. You see, when I was a little girl, I once read a fairy tale book. There was an illustration in it: a crescent moon reflecting on the rippling surface of the water, shining upon a person sitting in a small wooden boat. The story described it as a poignant and beautiful scene. Yet, even as a child, I understood that the night—the deep, dark night—represented sorrow and misery; it was a symbol of misfortune. I spent my entire life hoping that one day I could reach a place where there was no more night, a world that was forever bright, forever day. I believed that in such a world, every resident would live with true, unadulterated ."

A Childhood Dream of Light

"My name is Linda. I was a restaurant server, born in the 1980s. Back then, Hong Kong was filled with many British people. After the Opium War, Britain demanded reparations from China, and that is how Hong Kong came to be colonised. I came to this land with my parents. They opened a very famous steakhouse, and the business was incredibly successful. Many people at the time considered it a great honour to dine at our restaurant. I worked there as a server. In truth, as the owner's daughter, I could have easily been the executive chef, but I preferred the simplicity of taking orders and serving guests. I did not like managing people. I saw what power did to my parents, and I wanted no part of it.

My parents were once very simple, kind-hearted people. They genuinely wanted to create delicious steaks so that everyone who ate them would leave with a satisfied smile. They often said, 'If a meal cannot help a person let go of their worries, then that meal is not worth much.' But as the business grew more and more successful, they slowly changed. The constant flattery from those around them, combined with the status of being British, made them feel that they were superior to others. It was a slow, creeping corruption of the heart."

The Restaurant and the Hidden Darkness

"Eventually, the restaurant became so successful that it was targeted by unlawful elements. They persuaded my parents to help them transport drugs. Our bright, high-end restaurant became a drug transit station—a reality that most people would never have imagined. I discovered what was happening, but I did not dare to act rashly. I knew I would only have one chance to expose them.

During a secret transaction inside the restaurant, I silently recorded the details of the participants and the locations where they hid the drugs. These people were incredibly cunning. They used the restaurant's large industrial freezer to hide the drugs inside specific carcasses of beef. Our restaurant had a massive basement, and if one did not know their marking system or the patterns they used, it was nearly impossible to find the drugs. After observing them for a long time, I chose the perfect moment to hide at the scene, determined to expose these people who had human faces but beastly hearts. However, even though I was extremely careful, I made a small mistake. I was caught. Knowing that my life was at an end, I told them everything I had planned in a fit of rage. They had never expected that their 'foolproof' operation could be brought down by a woman, so they decided to vent their anger on me in the most cruel way imaginable."

Betrayal and the Descent into the Demon Realm

"In the midst of that intense resentment, I entered the Demon Realm and became a female demon. I gave myself the name 'Demonic Linda' to commemorate my past. The massive fire at Wang Fuk Court was not an accident; it was a preordained result of the laws of and cause and effect. I had arrived at Wang Fuk Court long before the fire, controlling the very people who had tortured me, ensuring that for one reason or another, they could not leave the building that day, or forcing them to return to it from the outside. Everything was orchestrated so that they would pay the price they deserved in that fire.

In truth, there were other spirits like me who took advantage of this fire to seek revenge. We cooperated to achieve our goals, ensuring they died in the most miserable way possible in that fire. The flames were merciless, stripping away the lives of many. I felt no pity when I watched it. I knew they all deserved their fate. Listening to their wails and cries in the sea of fire, I felt happier and happier, because that was exactly how I had felt when I was dying."

The Fire at Wang Fuk Court

"I knew that Practitioner Su from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre had brought Namo Amituofo to save these human beings in the sea of fire. The golden light illuminated the various spaces of retribution within the fire, drawing all these spirits into the light. Practitioner Su's great name is known to everyone in the Demon Realm. Many of our seniors in the Demon Realm have been sent away by Practitioner Su's Twelve Lights. There are even portraits of Practitioner Su in the Demon Realm. Actually, I never felt any resentment toward a true practitioner like Practitioner Su who compassionately saves beings. I knew that such a practitioner would not harm beings, but rather bring them benefits. I had heard that many spirits go to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, to seek Spiritual Deliverance. I believed this was proof that Practitioner Su is a practitioner who truly wants to save beings.

The myriad spirits in the sea of fire were roaring, and the fire, like a furnace, was constantly burning the spirits in that space. I could see that even within the steel bars and concrete, there were demon crowds suffering their retribution. They could not escape the space they were in and could only let the fire burn them mercilessly. I knew that one day I would be just like them, paying the price for what I had done. I dare not say I did not regret it, but once I entered the Demon Realm, my fate was sealed. The bad deeds only kept piling up, and I could not stop being a demon. At the very least, I did not know of any way to turn it all around."

A Chance for Redemption

"In the Demon Realm, I mainly controlled those drug traffickers, those who were addicted to power and forget to do good, especially those rapists and those who used women's bodies to vent their anger. For those kind and benevolent humans, I would not control them; in fact, I would sometimes help them a little. Thinking of the stories in the Demon Realm about how Practitioner Su would use the Twelve Lights to send demon crowds away, I watched the golden light shining in Wang Fuk Court several times. Seeing the spirits in the sea of fire being saved, I remembered that if I had encountered the Buddha to save me after I died, I would not have become 'Demonic Linda' today. Looking at the compassionate smile of Namo Amituofo in the sky, Demonic Linda decided to give herself a chance. I moved toward the golden light, heading to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to seek Spiritual Deliverance.

I never expected that the Buddha-light and golden light of the -Nature Land could soften Demonic Linda's hardened nature. Slowly, the black light on my body grew weaker and weaker, and soon it transformed into a bright radiance. My hatred and injustice dissipated amidst the chanting of the Holy Name 'Namo Amituofo'. I felt as if I had changed back into the kind, simple, and brave Linda I once was. The intense personality I had in the Demon Realm had no room to sprout on the lotus seat in the Dharma-Nature Land, because here there is no night; there is only the constant illumination of the Buddha-light."

The Transformation in the Dharma-Nature Land

"In the end, Linda's childhood wish was fulfilled. Just as I had imagined as a child, this is a pure and virtuous world. As Demonic Linda, I have no pain here, only the feeling of being relieved of a heavy burden. The Buddha seems not to see my sins, taking Demonic Linda's hand to embrace the bright goodness and Buddha-nature once again.

After listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma, I no longer feel resentment. In samsara, beings constantly devour each other. On the lotus seat, I knelt and prostrated to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, shedding tears of gratitude. Now, I am no longer called Demonic Linda; please call me by my original name, 'Linda'.

The Western Dharma-Nature Land is a world created by the power of vows of Practitioner Su. Countless demon crowds have already entered the Western Dharma-Nature Land, transformed. The negative personality traits that were difficult to change in the Demon Realm naturally no longer manifest in the Dharma-Nature Land. Here, I have changed back to the way I was as a British girl, and I am becoming increasingly dignified. Every day, I chant 'Namo Amituofo'. I hope that one day I can be like Practitioner Su, learn 's spiritual power, and save all boundless suffering sentient beings.

Once you've seen the vast ocean, other waters are not as impressive; a dark willow and bright flowers lead to another village. I never thought that a deviation in thought before I died would turn me into a female demon of the Demon Realm. I originally thought I could never turn back, but now, encountering Practitioner Su who has the ability to subdue demonic grievances and enter the Western Dharma-Nature Land, it is truly a great stroke of luck. I hope that all my demon friends in the Demon Realm can come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to seek refuge. The Buddha will give everyone the best conditions. In the Western Dharma-Nature Land, there is no need for struggle and compete; as long as you chant the Buddha's name and listen to the sutras every day, you can improve your spirituality. If you make a vow to be reborn, you can even go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. If you miss this opportunity, can you find anyone else willing to treat us demon crowds like this? Linda really does not know.

Countless spirits are reborn in the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The lotus seats, filling the boundless Dharma-Nature Land, emit a delicate fragrance. I am grateful for the of the Buddha.

Namo Amituofo.

Linda"
