The Sacred Discipline of Group Prostrations

The weekly group prostrations held at Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, occurring every Thursday evening from six to nine o'clock, have become a fundamental part of the regular practice for the fourfold assembly. We encourage you to arrive at the Buddha hall at least ten minutes early. This time is essential for you to settle your mind and prepare your body for the practice ahead. By doing so, you demonstrate your deep respect and reverence for the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who oversee our spiritual growth.

The Invisible Presence of the Holy Ones

You may wonder who is present during these sessions. In truth, Namo Amituofo, Avalokiteshvara , Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, the ancestral masters, and the entire Pure Ocean of Beings are already present at the site, patiently waiting for you. The radiant Buddha-light shines everywhere, illuminating not only the hall but also the who reside within the bodies of the practitioners. This light is a manifestation of infinite , seeking to guide all beings toward the path of liberation.

Resolving Through Sincerity

When you prostrate with a truly sincere heart, you create the conditions necessary to calm the minds of your karmic creditors. Many of these beings, upon seeing the Buddha manifest before them, are moved to let go of their grievances. They become willing to follow the Buddha-light to a place of peace. Your sincere practice also serves a greater purpose: it helps resolve the conflicts of the spirits who will attend the the following day. Through your devotion, they can receive the benefit of , allowing them to chant the name of Namo Amituofo and find rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

A Path to Total Purification

Therefore, you must take your practice seriously. Be diligent, maintain a sincere heart, and ensure that every is performed with absolute truthfulness. This is not merely a physical exercise; it is a profound opportunity for the purification of your Body-Mind-Spirit. As you bow, you are clearing the obstacles of the past and opening your heart to the infinite wisdom of the Buddha. May you continue to walk this path with unwavering faith and devotion.
