The Great Fortune of the Sangha

Those who possess tremendous in this world are often individuals who were monastics in their past lives. They have cultivated these immense blessings through their dedicated efforts to benefit all beings of the six paths. The Sangha serves as the order-followers, speakers, and promoters of the Buddha’s teachings. They ensure that the Buddha’s teachings are passed down through the generations, acting as a living representation of the in this world. By their presence, they provide a spiritual anchor for the hearts of the people, offering a reliable path so that beings may find support and avoid creating .

The Embodiment of the Truth

The Sangha themselves represent the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, and manifest the appearance of ultimate liberation. The Sangha of the school carries a specific and vital responsibility:

  • Promoting the sacred name of Namo Amituofo.
  • Sharing the magnificent nature of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
  • Inspiring all beings to develop the essential Faith, Vows, and Practice.

If a practitioner attains the and achieves deep meditative concentration, they may see their true self. Such individuals are the true pillars of the Pure Land. When their true self-nature manifests, they gain the ability to help other beings recognise their own suffering. They can then provide the necessary counseling to help these beings leave suffering behind and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land. This is one of the most important reasons why remembering and respecting the Sangha is a crucial factor in receiving salvation.

Living the Buddha’s Teachings

To truly walk this path, one must integrate the Buddha into every aspect of existence:

  • Have the Buddha in your heart, so that your inner life is guided by .
  • Have the Buddha in your speech, so that your words bring peace to others.
  • Have the Buddha in your actions, so that your conduct reflects the Truth.

When the Buddha is present in your heart, your speech, and your actions, the vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss will surely be fulfilled. This is the transformative power of the Sangha’s guidance and their living example. Namo Amituofo.
