The Sudden Shadow of Death

I am Guan Jun. I once lived in Hong Kong, where my family lived together in harmony. A few years ago, a sudden tragedy struck our home. Within a very short period, three men in our family passed away—myself and my two sons. It was a devastating blow to the Guan family, a misfortune that left our loved ones in deep sorrow and shock. During my life, I often performed what I believed to be good deeds. I respected the spirits and the divine, firmly believing that I would have a peaceful passing and a good destination after death. However, I was entirely mistaken. After I died, I did not go to a place of peace; instead, I fell directly into the hells to suffer retribution. The agony was beyond description, and there was no one who could save me from that endless suffering.

The Hidden Consequences of Our Actions

In the human world, many people mistakenly believe that simply giving money away constitutes a good deed. However, if the recipient does not use those funds to benefit the public, or if the money is used to cause harm to others, the donor must still bear the karmic consequences of those actions. I did not understand the laws of and cause and effect, and this ignorance was one of the primary reasons I ended up in the hells. It is a terrifying reality. When my family members went to seek guidance, they mistakenly assumed that we had ascended to the heavenly realms. How foolish that assumption was! If it were not for the wisdom of Practitioner Su, who saw the deep anguish of my daughter-in-law and realised that her husband—my son—was suffering in the hells, we would never have been found. We would still be trapped in that darkness. One must be extremely cautious; if one does not possess true cultivation and genuine skills, one should never speak carelessly about the afterlife, for it can harm both oneself and others.

The Light of

Now, thanks to the boundless compassion of Practitioner Su, we have been rescued. We are currently residing in the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Here, we listen to the teachings of the Dharma and make our vows. This place is truly a sanctuary. It is like the Western Land of the human world, and it is already a wonderful place to be. There are soft, fragrant, and pure lotus flowers, and the earth itself is bright and luminous. Yet, I know that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where Namo Amituofo abides, is even more magnificent. I have no desire to return to the human world, and I do not wish to be reincarnated in the cycle of rebirth ever again. My only goal is to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Path to True Liberation

If you wish to perform for the deceased, you must find someone who truly has the ability to guide souls to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Do not simply spend money on ceremonies that lack the power to save. If the deceased cannot be truly saved, they will continue to suffer, and the ceremony will only serve to provide a temporary sense of comfort to the living. I am filled with profound gratitude for this second chance at life and for the path that has been opened to me. I offer my deepest thanks to Practitioner Su and to all those who have helped us. Namo Amituofo.
