Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:

The Profound Essence of No-Mind

To attain the state of No-Mind is to possess the highest form of Great Wisdom. The heart is the dwelling place of the spirit. When we speak of the heart, we must distinguish between its various aspects. There is the physical heart, which is but a vessel of flesh. Then, there is the spiritual heart, which encompasses both the mind that wanders in attachment and the mind that possesses innate spiritual awareness. This is how the great masters of old have defined the nature of the heart.

Transcending the Burden of Attachment

Yet, one might ask: what does it mean to have No-Mind? When we look at this from a different perspective, we see that No-Mind exists in contrast to the mind of attachment. Ordinarily, we are bound by the conditions of our past and present; every event in our lives seems to weigh upon the heart, creating ripples of worry and desire.

To be free from such burdens is a vital condition for achieving the clarity and purity of the spirit. When the true spiritual awareness of the heart is revealed, no external circumstance can disturb it. This is the state of No-Mind. It is not a state of emptiness or void, but a state of perfect, unclouded presence where the spirit is no longer tethered by the dust of the world.

The Path of the Awakened Being

My dear students, you must engage in diligent practice. When the state of No-Mind manifests, your innate spiritual awareness will naturally function without obstruction. This is the true path of an awakened being, where your hearts and actions are perfectly aligned with the Truth. By letting go of the burdens that weigh upon your spirit, you allow the light of your original nature to shine forth, guiding you toward rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss.
