Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, recorded by the Chief Writer, Venerable HaiZe, on the twenty-ninth of April, 2023.

The Eternal Motion of the Spirit

When does the endless flow of water finally come to a rest? The answer is that it never stops. It is in the very nature of water to flow continuously, moving forward without pause. If it were to stagnate and cease its forward motion, it would quickly become murky and impure. However, as it travels, it cleanses everything it touches, washing away impurities and stains. This is what we call pure water, a force of constant purification.

The Living and Cooling Grace

Countless creatures live within this stream, thriving in a cycle of life that never ends. This is the living water that sustains all existence. It is also incomparably cool and refreshing, offering relief from the scorching heat of summer. People bathe in it, animals drink from it, and plants are nourished by its touch. This is the cooling water that brings comfort to all beings, providing solace in times of distress.

The Flow of

This stream flows through villages and bustling cities, across high mountains and vast plains. Wherever it passes, the sound of the Dharma is heard continuously. When beings hear the Dharma, they are filled with Dharma . This is the Dharma water that nourishes the spirit, the heart to the truth of the universe.

Merging with the Ultimate Vow

Ultimately, this stream flows into the vast ocean of Namo Amituofo’s Ultimate Vow. It merges completely with the Buddha, sharing the same heart, the same vows, and the same practice. It saves countless beings, guiding them to rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss. This is the Buddha water, flowing eternally without end, a testament to the boundless that never ceases to save those who are lost.
