RAIN PRAYING

The beginning of this connection for rainmaking

Five years ago, Practitioner Su led the fourfold assembly (monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen) back to Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. At that time, there was severe drought everywhere in Australia, and the COVID-19 pandemic was spreading across the world. Everyone has a personality and is selfish, not knowing that the body is false, and they are all suffering for the sake of this false body. In particular, Australians eat meat and love beef. Animals have spirits; because of the killing of animal lives, these Causal Conditions led to the spirits of resentful cows and many other slaughtered animals obstructing the rain in the air, resulting in the karmic retribution of drought.

Chanting the Buddha's name for rain

Namo Amituofo knows that this is because the human world lacks the Dharma. Therefore, Namo Amituofo, with great compassion, and Practitioner Su, with compassion, began to educate people to chant "Namo Amituofo", educating the public to change personality traits, and also educating the cow spirits in space to chant "Namo Amituofo". This "Namo Amituofo" contains the great majestic power, great meritorious power, and great fearless power of Namo Amituofo, whose Dharma-body pervades the Dharma-realm. Chanting this "Namo Amituofo" can open up space. The compassionate Namo Amituofo emits incomparable brightness and soft Buddha-light. Furthermore, Practitioner Su communicates with the spiritual realms to pray for rain, urging the resentful and suffering spirits in the air and on the ground to let go of the hatred in their hearts, chant "Namo Amituofo", and rely on the majestic power, meritorious power, and fearless power of Namo Amituofo, so that people, beings, animals, plants, insects, and earthly creatures may be spared the suffering of drought, hoping to resolve the disaster.

Bearing the suffering of beings

During those days, in order to teach the spirits of ghosts, animals, plants, and earthly creatures in Brisbane, Toowoomba, and Goombungee, Queensland, Australia, to chant the "Namo Amituofo" Buddha-name, Practitioner Su, even while being possessed by spirits and attacked on the scalp and skin all over the body—causing rashes, pus, redness, swelling, pain, extreme itching, and hair loss—continued to teach the ghosts, animals, plants, and earthly creatures to chant the Namo Amituofo Buddha-name.

First drops of rain

After the sentient beings emitted a faint "Namo Amituofo" Buddha-name on one occasion, a few drops of rain fell from the sky, followed by a light drizzle. The sentient beings were very surprised and felt joyful. Being bathed in Buddha light from Namo Amituofo and with the constant encouragement of Practitioner Su, everyone was led to continue chanting. From initially not knowing how to chant or being unable to chant, the sentient beings gradually believed in this Buddha-name, were able to chant "Namo Amituofo" softly, and eventually even chanted "Namo Amituofo" loudly and proactively. Finally, it rained several times; lightning and thunder appeared in the sky, and heavy rain fell, ending the drought. This act helped people and earthly creatures receive the nourishment and irrigation of rainwater, allowing green shoots to grow from the originally parched land. People also showed smiles on their faces due to the nourishment of the rain and the end of the drought, improving their previous life without water.

Resolving grievances

The skin on Practitioner Su's body, which had been attacked by sentient beings, gradually recovered under the constant removal of the possessing spirits and the healing of Namo Amituofo, and the head also began to grow finer hair that was thicker than before. In the space invisible to people, many animal spirits—such as the slaughtered cow spirits, pig spirits, chicken spirits, goose spirits, and fish spirits that originally covered the sky—let go of the hatred in their hearts, accepted deliverance, and found peace under the mediation of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su. In addition to the merit of the sentient beings chanting the Namo Amituofo Buddha-name to eliminate the disaster, the deliverance of the slaughtered animal spirits to leave suffering behind was also an important reason for the end of the drought.
