This is a record of the thirty-ninth letter from the late Master Wei Chueh, who now resides in the of Ultimate Bliss. He shares his insights on the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia and the nature of true faith. This message was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on July 29, 2017.

Master Wei Chueh speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. The sun rises in the east, much like the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre here. To the casual observer, it may appear to be a newly established bodhimanda, but in truth, it has already undergone years of rigorous purification. I have watched from afar and seen the countless trials and tribulations this place has endured. That it is now able to open its gates to receive beings is entirely by the will of the Buddha. If we refuse to follow the guidance of the Buddha, which other Buddha are we to believe in?

The Ego as a Barrier to Truth

Many people study the Buddha’s teachings and engage in practice, yet they find themselves unable to truly believe in the true Buddha. The reason for this is quite clear: they are gripped by the fear of being deceived. In modern society, people are filled with such anxiety and insecurity, all because they are constantly revolving around themselves. Because is the object they cherish and protect the most, this 'I' becomes so inflated that it turns into a massive obstacle to their practice. It becomes nearly impossible for them to see their own true nature.

This —the realisation of one's true nature—has been the hallmark of every successful practitioner throughout history. I can guarantee you this: if you encounter these messages and find yourself unable to believe them, or worse, if you choose to slander them, you will not be able to realise your true nature in this lifetime. This is because you fundamentally do not understand what the Buddha’s teachings truly are.

The Challenge of Faith

In truth, every single message I have sent forth until now is authentic, and what I have sought to express is entirely correct. The only challenge, of course, is that these messages are being sent by a late master who has passed away. I understand that this is difficult to believe and that the mind naturally struggles to find a way to verify such things. However, if you have read these dozens of letters and still refuse to believe, then there is no possibility for progress in your understanding of the Buddha’s teachings. This is because no one is willing to truly open their heart to faith.

An Invitation to Verify

To the children of the 'Jian' generation and to all the fourfold assembly of disciples, I say this: all the skills and accomplishments here at this centre are derived from purification. What you can verify for yourselves is to come here and engage in a real dialogue with me. Come here to heal your illnesses. The power of the Buddha’s teachings is such that one can be free from sickness, free from ageing, and free from death. I have witnessed these things with my own eyes.

Many of you carry heavy burdens of spiritual attachments. Coming here to rest and cultivate your heart is certainly not a bad thing. More importantly, I hope that this great can be propagated far and wide. At the very least, everyone at Chung Tai should know that this old master will always be waiting for you here, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, a sacred land of purity in Australia."
