This article documents a message from the late Grand Master Wei Chueh, who sought deliverance after his passing. Having been rescued from the depths of the hells by Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, he now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This testimony was recorded on June 6, 2017.

Grand Master Wei Chueh speaks:

"The Chung Tai monastery is nestled amidst majestic, rolling mountains, a place where the land itself seems to hum with spiritual energy. It has long been regarded as a sanctuary for exceptional individuals, a gathering place for the elite of the . For years, I guided many in the profound and subtle methods of Chan practice, believing that the path I had laid out was sufficient. Yet, in my deep reflection now, I see the tragic truth: despite the brilliance of the teachings, not a single soul was truly guided to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I, Wei Chueh, am now able to speak from this only because of the boundless and the saving grace of the Buddha. I look upon the Chung Tai community with an earnest and sincere hope that you will quickly come forward to rectify this. The transmission of the wisdom-life is a sacred duty that must not be delayed, nor can it be mistaken."

The Weight of the Message

"Jian Deng, you must realise the absolute gravity of this matter. This is not some casual internet rumour or a fleeting digital distraction. Do you truly believe that because Wei Chueh no longer possesses a physical body, my words have lost their purpose or authority? People of Chung Tai, do not delay any longer. In every passing second, countless beings are lost to the cycle of suffering. The karmic connection between the Chung Tai community and Namo Amituofo has already been missed, and the consequences are dire.

To all the monastics, the fourfold assembly, the Dharma-protecting lay practitioners, the volunteers, and the students of Chung Tai: Namo Amituofo. I am Wei Chueh, the Grand Master you all once knew. Yesterday, a record of an interview with me was released, and today, I speak again to ensure my message is clear. I am currently in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss solely due to the compassionate rescue of the Buddha. I was saved from the hells by Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. During the , I personally witnessed the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and Namo Amituofo, and I knelt to chant the Buddha's name. By the Buddha's great compassion, I was led to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

A Regretful Realisation

"Throughout my life, I spared no effort in propagating the Chan teachings. However, because I led Chung Tai during this age of the Dharma’s decline, I treated the Pure Land teachings as if they were mere wisps of smoke, brushing them aside lightly. This was a grave error. The Pure Land path is what Shakyamuni Buddha taught as the essential way to be saved during this degenerate age. Because I, Wei Chueh, navigated the wrong course and did not actively promote the Pure Land practice, not a single person was reborn in the Western Pure Land. Consequently, I had to endure the retribution of the hells. It is a heavy burden to bear, knowing that my leadership led so many away from the only path of true liberation.

A Final Plea to Chung Tai

Matters have reached this critical point. I implore the Chung Tai community to act with haste. No matter the obstacles, you must make the journey here; do not turn a blind eye to this reality. Jian Deng, can you see this message? Once you have seen it, you should know that this is no ordinary jest. For the entire Chung Tai system, both domestically and abroad, the responsibility for this karmic cause and effect rests primarily on your shoulders. If you can turn things around, you must come here. Do not let the people of Chung Tai remain indefinitely far from the Pure Land. Namo Amituofo."

The sorrowful words of Wei Chueh.

This interview message was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe.
