A Father's Final Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Xie Tuhuo, the father of Lay Practitioner Xie Yugui, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his life and his transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on June 9, 2023.

Xie Tuhuo speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Bodhisattva Xie Tuhuo. Now that my life in the human world has reached this final moment, I can truly see the end of the road. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is so incredibly beautiful; I have finally arrived here, and I am home at last.

Looking back, all the scenes from my life in the human world feel like nothing more than a fleeting dream. Now that I have awakened from that dream, I have returned to my original home—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is a peace I never knew was possible while I was still tethered to the cycle of rebirth."

The Awakening from a Lifelong Dream

"Life in the human world is truly exhausting! It is filled with endless toil and suffering. My daughter, Agui, you were right all along. Every single person must strive for rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; it is the only way to find true liberation and leave suffering behind. Now that I have arrived here, I am waiting for all of you to join me.

Since passing away, I no longer have a physical body, and the clarity I possess is profound. I can see things so clearly now. If a person truly wants to change their destiny, they must address their karmic debts; there is simply no other way. I looked back at my own life and saw so many karmic creditors clinging tightly to me. I also realised that for a great deal of my later years, it was not even me speaking to you. From the time I turned seventy, my body had already been taken over by these karmic creditors. If I were not standing here now, seeing this truth with my own eyes, I would never have believed it myself."

The Hidden Burden of Karmic Creditors

"Agui, you must change! I can see that there are so many beings waiting for you as well. Your father has already departed, but you too will grow old, and you will eventually reach this same crossroads. I do not want to see you suffer through the agony of illness and the weight of these debts. You must change quickly. You must know to hold tightly to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and to Practitioner Su. Only this place has the power to save you.

Time in the human world is so short; life vanishes in the blink of an eye. Although I lived to a ripe old age, my life had long since ceased to be under my own control. I truly hope that you will not walk the same path that I did. To have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss at the end of my life is enough for me, but now, the responsibility falls to you. I will be waiting for you here, watching over my children, my grandchildren, and my great-grandchildren.

A Final Promise of Reunion

"Everyone must practise diligently. We will reunite in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. You must follow Namo Amituofo closely and never let go of that connection. Namo Amituofo."
