A Father's Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
An Interview with the Spirit of Lay Practitioner Huang Mingxi
This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Huang Mingxi, who sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his profound transition from the darkness of the spirit realm to the eternal brightness of the Pure Land. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on December 10, 2021.
Lay Practitioner Huang Mingxi speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Ah Zhen, it is your father. You have been such a filial daughter, knowing in your heart that you needed to help your father perform . I am now residing in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Your mother came to meet us, so you can rest easy now. It was Practitioner Su who personally guided us here. This is a monumental event, and no one could have known that we would arrive at such a magnificent, sacred place."
A Miraculous Place of Deliverance
"If you had not helped me perform Chao Du, I would never have had the chance to reach this realm. I knew long ago that this Centre was extraordinary, because during every assembly at the temple, countless beings arrive seeking Spiritual Deliverance. Even the celestial beings and fairies from the heavens dance in the sky above the temple, letting Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su know they are present, so that they can be guided to the Western Land during the Dharma assembly. This is a sight you simply cannot see anywhere else!"
The Choice to Transcend Samsara
"I had originally intended to wait until everyone returned to Taiwan so that you could send me off before I departed for the Western Land. However, seeing how joyful everyone was about going to the Western Land, I decided to go ahead. This place is so wonderful; I am filled with such seeing it. Ah Zhen, you are a person who chants the Buddha's name and has faith in the Buddha. It is only because you are protected by the Buddhas that you were able to encounter Practitioner Su, and that is why I am able to be here today."
"You must continue to chant Namo Amituofo diligently. Being a human is truly exhausting. The relationships between husband and wife are merely karmic ties formed over lifetimes, passing from one generation to the next. Only by reaching the Western Land can one truly escape this suffering. This is what I learned while I was at the temple, listening to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks. You must also listen to the sutras carefully. Do not choose to be a human in your next life; you must come to the Western Land to become a Buddha. This is also what Practitioner Su teaches."
From Darkness to Eternal Light
"Only after arriving here did I finally leave behind the days of being a wandering spirit. That was a place of grey shadows where no light could be seen—it is completely different from the temple and the Western Land. They are two entirely different worlds. I feel wonderful now, even better than I ever did before. You can stop worrying about us. If there is anything the temple needs, do whatever you can to help. Cultivating merit and virtue is the only way to ensure a good future. Cultivating merit here is very fast, so be sure to follow Practitioner Su closely!"
"Thank you, Namo Amituofo. Thank you, Practitioner Su. Thank you to everyone."
"Namo Amituofo."
