A Father's Journey to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Huang Jincheng, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition and his message to his family. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on September 15, 2023.

Lay Practitioner Huang Jincheng speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. In the past, I would spend my time chatting with people, talking about this and that. But now, the one phrase that comes to my lips more than any other is 'Namo Amituofo.' Even I find this hard to believe! During this time, I have witnessed the true compassion of the Buddha. While I was alive, I never had the opportunity to truly know the Buddha, but now, I am so deeply moved by His compassion that I have made a vow to follow Him wholeheartedly."

The Clarity of the Spirit

"After shedding my physical body, I can see everything with such incredible clarity. I can see the cycle of rebirth I have been trapped in throughout my many lives, and I can see the Causal Conditions I share with every person I have ever known. When I first arrived in this Buddha-land, I was still clinging tightly to my old ways of thinking and my old habits. I had my own opinions, and I was stubborn. I was unwilling to let go, and I did not even realise that there was anything wrong with that.

Now, I finally see the truth. My own personality and my stubbornness caused harm to my karmic creditors, which is why they followed me for so long. So many of them were waiting for me in the space between realms. Seeing them suffer like that, I felt such deep regret, and I sincerely repented to them. Seeing the truth of the spiritual realms, I finally understand that we are born into a human body to repay our debts. If I had known this earlier, perhaps I could have repaid so much more. I thank the Buddha for allowing me to see these things clearly, and I thank my daughter, Cuihua, for arranging the Chao Du for her father, which has allowed me to be here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

A Message to My Children

"My child, your father is now strong and healthy. Upon entering the Buddha's land, I have become young again, and I have not a single regret about the past. My spirit is now completely awake and clear. I hope that you, too, can become clear-minded people. Do not bicker or argue with others; look clearly at the truth of life. You are all good children, and you are all those who have a deep karmic affinity with me in this life. I hope that your future days will be smooth and free from suffering. But for this to happen, you must change yourselves. You must change your heart; only then can you truly transform your own karma.

The Connection of Cause and Effect

Every one of us is still connected to the laws of karma and cause and effect from our past. If you are not careful, once you connect with those past causes, the effects will manifest in your life. This is something you must all know and be very mindful of. I hope that you will listen to the sutras more often. This is not superstition; it is about giving yourself a foundation upon which you can change.

Life is actually very short; it passes in the blink of an eye. A single thought can influence your entire future. I hope you can truly understand this. The Buddha is so compassionate; He blesses you all so that you may realise these truths and apply them to your daily lives.

I am so grateful to the Buddha for allowing me to speak with my family, to kneel and bow before Him, and I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo."
