A Final Farewell and a Promise of Reunion

This is a record of an interview with Guo Xinzhou, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his life and his transition to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on June 30, 2023.

Guo Xinzhou speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. A lifetime feels like such a long distance to travel, yet now, we are separated for eternity. In the very final moments of my life, my mind was flooded with memories of our past together. I cannot clearly recall the specific details of those events anymore, but I can still feel the warmth and the happiness we shared when we were together. When a person reaches the end of their life, they lose the strength to do anything at all. I truly wished I could have continued living like we did in the past, as a family, but those days have already slipped away into the past. In my heart, I know that my departure has caused my wife, Honghua, such profound sorrow. I am so sorry, Honghua, that I had to leave you behind first.

The Journey to the Western Pure Land

From the moment I was arranged by Honghua to receive Chao Du, and then brought to this place, I understood that her deepest hope was for me to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss as soon as possible. To set your heart at ease, my dear, I want you to know that I have already attained rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Please, do not worry about me any longer.

Every person has their own path to walk and their own days to live. I have already departed, and your life must return to its natural rhythm. Do not be sad for me anymore. Every person must face that day eventually; my time had simply arrived.

A Message of Gratitude and Guidance

I have lived a full life, and I was truly blessed to have such a wonderful wife. After I am gone, I know you have had to work so hard. Life is filled with suffering, and I truly hope that in the future, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will become your sanctuary and your support. Please, do not work yourself to exhaustion anymore. You must practise the Dharma diligently. I will be waiting for you in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, so please, follow the Buddha and practise with all your heart.

Regarding our children, please do not exhaust your mind and body worrying about them. I see things so clearly now; every individual has their own karma and their own destiny to face. If our son can learn the Dharma, that is his own blessing; if he does not believe, do not let your mind be troubled by it. Focus on your own practice, and leave everything else to the compassionate arrangements of the Buddha. Honghua, you must save yourself!

A Final Expression of Love

I want to thank you. For this entire lifetime, you were my family, and you provided me with so much care. I am truly, deeply grateful to you. (He covers his face and weeps). In the past, I may not have expressed this clearly, but I need to tell you now: thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Remember, I will be waiting for you in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss so that we may reunite. You must never forget to return there! Please help me thank Practitioner Su, as well as the entire group dedicated to saving the world. We are truly so fortunate. Namo Amituofo."
