A Journey to the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Bodhisattva Liang Yayu, the mother of Lay Practitioner Zhang Dingzhong, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her journey toward liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on March 3, 2023.

Bodhisattva Liang Yayu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Liang Yayu. Since arriving here, I have frequently heard the phrase 'shifting the focus of one's heart.' It is a teaching of immense wisdom. We must learn to shift our mental focus at every moment, especially when negative thoughts begin to cloud our minds. It is only through this conscious shift that we can truly save ourselves from the depths of our own suffering.

The Power of Shifting One's Heart

I am deeply grateful for the Causal Conditions that brought me to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. Without this sacred place, I truly believe I would never have attained the opportunity for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I cherish this connection with all my heart. I want to take this precious opportunity to tell my family and friends that chanting the Buddha's name is of the utmost importance. Specifically, chanting this sacred name—Namo Amituofo—is the only path that can truly save everyone. The study of the Dharma is the gateway to immortality; everyone must seize this opportunity while they still can!

A Final Message to My Loved Ones

Now that I have reached the end of my life's journey, everything has become crystal clear. There are so many things in this world that we must learn to stop clinging to or arguing over. The most important pursuit is to seek liberation and return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have experienced so much in this lifetime—both the good and the bad, the joyful and the sorrowful. But those events have already passed. We must not dwell on the past; this is a lesson that Practitioner Su frequently teaches during his Dharma talks.

The Urgency of Liberation

We must all engage in diligent practice and follow closely behind Namo Amituofo. Now that a true Buddha has arrived in this world, you must grasp this chance firmly. Otherwise, the cycle of reincarnation is simply too painful to endure! When our spiritual obstacles arise, we are often unable to be the masters of our own fate. We must break through the limitations of our lives and quickly follow the path of practice at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Do not let such a magnificent opportunity slip through your fingers.

A Promise of Reunion in the Pure Land

We only have one life to get this right. I want to see all of you gathered together in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in the future; I will be waiting for you there. Nothing in the human world is truly important; the only thing that matters is finding the path to liberation. My heart is overflowing with emotion—the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is truly, breathtakingly beautiful. You must all come here. Please, chant the Buddha's name sincerely, listen to the teachings of Practitioner Su, and truly transform yourselves from within! If you have the chance, come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to practise; it will be a profound help to every one of you.

I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Namo Amituofo, to Practitioner Su, and to every single Venerable, lay practitioner, and volunteer who serves here. Namo Amituofo."
