A Message from the Western Dharma-Nature Land
An Interview with Liu Yinmei, Wife of the Head of Shanguolin
This is a record of an interview with Liu Yinmei, the wife of the head of Shanguolin, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the . This account reflects upon her transition after passing away and her urgent message to fellow practitioners regarding the reality of the Pure Land and the importance of resolving karmic debts. Recorded on December 1, 2024.
Practitioner Su speaks:
"Bringing the head of Shanguolin, Liu Yixiong, and his wife, Liu Yinmei, up to this realm has brought me immense ! You are such virtuous people, and even though you were in the tenth heaven, I have brought you to the -Nature Land. You can now witness the Dharma assemblies conducted here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, where Namo Amituofo truly abides. Madam, does Shanguolin have any true talent—practitioners who have genuinely let go of everything? Namo Amituofo is truly present here, and we are in great need of capable people. If such talent comes to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you, too, can repay the Buddha's kindness."
Liu Yinmei speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Liu Yinmei, and I am so overjoyed that Practitioner Su remembers me. To be honest, my practice regarding the Pure Land was simply fulfilling my duty. It was only through the care and support of everyone that I had the opportunity to do a little work for the community, helping to build Shanguolin into a place that felt like home. I am even more grateful that this journey allowed me to meet so many fellow practitioners. We supported one another, washing away our filth in the Dharma waters of Venerable Master Chin Kung. My heart is filled with gratitude—truly, so much gratitude!
A Debt of Gratitude and a Second Chance
I am also deeply grateful to Practitioner Su. These past years have been incredibly arduous for you, but seeing the achievements you have made today makes me truly happy for you. To be able to invite Namo Amituofo to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and to have the capability, alongside Namo Amituofo, to bring both my husband and me from the heavenly realms to this place—the Western Dharma-Nature Land—is truly extraordinary! The Pure Land requires someone with Practitioner Su’s capabilities; only then is it possible for everyone’s wish to be reborn in the West to be fulfilled.
Although I believed my vow to be reborn in the West was sincere enough to grant me entry, when the critical moment of testing arrived, I found myself in the heavenly realms instead! However, having now been saved by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, I have the hope of entering the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I am so happy! My wish finally has a chance to be realised. I must tell every fellow practitioner at Shanguolin about this: everyone can go to the West; Practitioner Su can lead you all back to the West. I have witnessed the here, where Practitioner Su led sixty prison guards and several other spirits who were delivered and willing to go to the Western Pure Land. It is simply inconceivable!
The Living Presence of Namo Amituofo
My husband and I wish to ask Practitioner Su to lead us back to the West. This is the one thing I look forward to most in my life! Namo Amituofo truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I have seen the Buddha’s golden body—so dignified and towering. Many spirits who saw Him knelt down and kowtowed; some could not stop crying, moved by a mixture of joy and deep emotion. I was one of them. The process by which Practitioner Su delivers countless beings and demon crowds during the Thrice Yearning Ceremony is absolutely magnificent. If I had not seen these things with my own eyes, I would have found it hard to believe.
Practitioner Su’s ability to deliver sentient beings and lead spirits into the Western Pure Land has previously been met with doubt, but now that I have seen it with my own eyes, I urge everyone not to be sceptical. Practitioner Su is a respectable practitioner who silently endures the distancing, suspicion, and slander of others. I can clarify this for him: facts are facts. Those who do not believe only lose out themselves; it is not Practitioner Su who suffers.
A Call to True Talent
Regarding Practitioner Su’s question about whether there is any true talent at Shanguolin who has 'let go' of everything, I believe that if someone hears my words, chooses to believe, and is willing to come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre to draw close to the Buddha to secure their own rebirth in the West, then that person is the talent we are looking for! You can take the initiative to contact the Centre, and Practitioner Su will certainly be very happy to help you. Rebirth in the West is a great matter—it is your own personal affair, and no one can do it for you. Therefore, you must be proactive. It is better to believe and act than to miss such a golden opportunity!
These are my sincere words. Furthermore, the spirit of our beloved and respected Venerable Master Chin Kung is truly here at the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It is truly inconceivable! Even Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, who compiled the Infinite Life Sutra, is here. Even his grandson, Xia Fasheng, who passed away without reaching the West, was led by Practitioner Su to the Western Dharma-Nature Land. Each of these events has occurred right here. It leaves me with no choice but to praise this place. Unless one has awakened, and unless Namo Amituofo is truly here, how could such things possibly happen?
The Obstacles to Rebirth
This is what I, Yinmei, have to say from the Western Dharma-Nature Land. Every person at Shanguolin is a talent, each holding different roles according to their aspirations. For now, please pass this letter to Practitioner Zhou Shuxian at Shanguolin for him to handle. Because this matter is difficult to believe and difficult to hear, yet so vital, it concerns the great matter of everyone’s rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Currently, Shanguolin Pure Land Temple has declared itself a bodhimanda for rebirth in the Western Pure Land. But why could I not reach the West? It is because while everyone is diligent in cultivating merits and wisdom, they overlook the power of in the spiritual realms—the past that is temporarily suppressed by the merits and virtues of current practice.
Most importantly, everyone’s personality has not changed, and their habits remain. Even if you are respectful and harmonious in the temple, once a situation arises and the test is before you, your personality flares up, your temper rises, and your emotions become unstable. Even if your personality is suppressed, you can still function, but once a thought arises—especially when anger appears—a million gates of obstruction open, triggering karma and the appearance of karmic creditors. The merits and virtues you have accumulated are insufficient to resolve the conflict with these karmic creditors. Many karmic creditors choose to lie in wait, causing to age, fall ill, and lose the heart to believe in the Buddha. Or, when chanting at the time of death, obstacles arise; the heart is not pure, or there are attachments, and naturally, the Buddha-name cannot be chanted. Even if the support chanting is done well, if the person is drowsy, their ears are covered, and the Buddha-name is not chanted sincerely or clearly, they cannot reach the West. Or, perhaps they did good deeds and accumulated merits in life, but because they could not see Namo Amituofo, they went to other realms—which is still considered fortunate. If, at the time of death, one’s thoughts are evil or karma manifests, and the karmic creditors—who were quiet during one's life—are activated at that moment, the spirit is dragged into the three lower realms.
The Reality of the Spiritual Realms
The merits and virtues you accumulated during your life do not disappear; they are still there. But the strongest thoughts pull you first, and you go there to receive the consequences. This is the situation of the spiritual realms that I have seen here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Moreover, there is the practice of inviting spirits here, and Practitioner Su has the 'opened eye' to see sentient beings, karmic creditors, and the parts of the body that are ill, allowing him to resolve conflicts with these beings. Most importantly, there is the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo shining upon us, and the merits that can be given to these beings. There is also this bright land—the Western Dharma-Nature Land—where beings can go, ensuring they are not left without a destination. This is why the invitation of spirits is successful. There is so much more that cannot be fully expressed in words.
If Practitioner Zhou Shuxian could personally make a trip to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, he would understand. For the sake of your own great matter of rebirth in the West, and so that Shanguolin Pure Land Temple can lead more beings to fulfill their wish to be reborn in the West, this trip must be made! The spirits of Yixiong and me have already been led here to the Western Dharma-Nature Land by Practitioner Su. I believe Practitioner Su can assist with travel, accommodation, and other matters for your visit.
Namo Amituofo is here; this is the Buddha’s bodhimanda. The Buddha is here, looking after everyone and leading sentient beings to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss or into the Buddha-light. I have seen Namo Amituofo here—He is so tall and majestic, leading so many beings during the Thrice Yearning Ceremony! I only dare to say these things because I have seen them; otherwise, it would be a great falsehood! To say there is a Buddha when there is none leads to the Avici Hell! Likewise, to say there is no Buddha when there is one also leads to the Avici Hell! I no longer have a physical body, but my spirit has not died; I have no reason to make things difficult for myself by creating the karma of the Avici Hell.
In fact, after I passed away, I first went to the underworld to see Ksitigarbha for a period of time, because I had previously made a vow to copy sutras but had not copied enough. So, I went to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva to copy sutras, and only after fulfilling that did I go to the tenth heaven. If I had not spoken of this myself, how could anyone have known? I hope that the practitioners at Shanguolin Pure Land Temple, and indeed every sincere practitioner of the Buddha-name, can be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. That is why I have spoken these words. I hope someone from Shanguolin can come here to see that what I have said is true. This is my sincere wish, and I hope everyone can fulfill it by coming to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. It will certainly be a trip worth taking!
