A Mother's Guidance from the Western Pure Land

Lay Practitioner Yang Chen-yuan, the mother of Lay Practitioner Yang Min-jian, sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Having transitioned from the darkness of the ghost realm to the light of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, she shared this testimony on November 24, 2023, to offer guidance and comfort to her family.

Lay Practitioner Yang Chen-yuan speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am currently chanting this holy name very well. Today is the day that my husband and I have decided to depart for the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Since arriving at this radiant Buddha-land from the dark ghost realm, I have become increasingly clear-headed. At the very beginning, I could not quite recall the events of my past life. I do not know how much time had passed, but I began to feel a light constantly shining upon me, warming my entire body. It was only then that I realised I must have arrived at a truly wonderful place.

The Terror of the Unknown

To be honest, death is truly terrifying. One never knows where they will end up. However, I am deeply grateful to have arrived at this luminous Buddha-land. Now that my mind is becoming clearer, I look back at my past life. I feel both resentment and stifled anger. Back then, I was surrounded by so many karmic creditors waiting for me, which is why my legs eventually became so weak. Even now, when I look back at those scenes, my heart is still filled with shock. In truth, I lived my life honestly, yet I did not know that I owed so much to others from my past. Seeing those people, one after another, coming to collect their debts, I did not know how I could possibly repay them. Fortunately, my son and daughter-in-law helped me by performing Chao Du, rescuing me from the darkness and helping me repay some of those debts to my karmic creditors. But there is still so much, so very much, that I must repay. Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I am working diligently to learn from the Buddha so that I may repay them in the future.

A Mother's Pride

My son! Let us talk about the affairs of our family. I know that you must find it very difficult to understand why my grandson, Shang-yong, suddenly made such a different life decision. If I were in your shoes, I would feel the same way. But during the time that your mother's spirit has been at this temple, I have seen that although my grandson often overthinks things, he is very diligent every single day. He studies the Buddha’s teachings, and he hopes that you, too, can come to know Namo Amituofo and follow Him. Your mother sees his heart very clearly; he is a child with a very soft and kind heart. His life choices are different from others; his heart desires to help more people, not just himself. For this alone, I am so proud to have such a grandson.

My grandson has now become a monastic, and I, his grandmother, am even more proud. In his role as a teacher, he will be able to help even more people in the future. What he is doing will also bless our Yang family. This is something that I, as your mother, can see, but you do not yet know.

A Message to My Family

I hope that you and your wife will have the opportunity to come here and understand my grandson. Once you understand, you will also be very happy that your son made such a decision. Having said this, I hope that both you and your wife will take these words to heart.

Now, you are getting older, and you have experienced so many ups and downs in life. I hope you will take care of your health. Do not worry so much about the affairs of the company. If you can let others handle them, then let them handle them. You should also give yourself time to rest properly.

My son, every person must face the moment of death. Where do we go after we die? This is an answer that one cannot imagine or find on their own. However, your mother now knows that Namo Amituofo can provide the answer. I hope you will pay close attention to this matter. You are also a person with good roots. Your abilities can help not only yourself but also many other people. I hope you will find a different way to apply your talents so that you can help your brothers and sisters in the future.

You have walked through the sufferings of life. I do not want you to fall ill in the future, so I hope you can study the Buddha’s teachings well now, so that we may meet again in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

My daughter-in-law, you have also worked very hard! You have taken care of this family all along the way, spending so much energy and heart. Your mother knows all of this, and I am very grateful to you. Now, I hope you can let go of your worries. Every child has their own path to walk, so please do not keep them on your mind. When you have time, chant Namo Amituofo more often. Listen to my grandson, who is now the monastic Master, as he introduces the Buddha’s teachings to you. Do not let your heart suffer anymore; you must open it up.

In this life, we had the karmic affinity to become a family. Now, your mother hopes even more that you all have the Causal Conditions to follow Namo Amituofo. You must take these words to heart.
