A Mother's Journey to the Western Land

An Interview with the Spirit of Li Xian

This is a record of an interview with Li Xian, who sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the spirit realm to the Western Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on November 13, 2021.

Li Xian speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Li Xian, and I am speaking to you now from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is such a magnificent, wondrous place—I simply must share this with everyone! You must tell others, spread the word far and wide. I have never, in all my existence, encountered a place as glorious as this. It is truly a blessing beyond measure that my daughter-in-law, Lay Practitioner Lin Fengzhi, helped us receive .

Fengzhi, my dear, I am so deeply grateful to you. If it were not for your efforts, I would still be wandering as a spirit, lost and aimless, with no idea where to go or what to do. I have experienced many rituals before, but this time, the Chao Du was truly effective. It was transformative. I remember that day vividly—a brilliant, radiant light descended, and it guided me directly into the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. It was only later that I realised it was Practitioner Su who had led me into that sacred space. Life here is beyond anything I could have imagined. Those who follow a pure, vegetarian path have such clear, untainted hearts. The environment here is perfectly aligned with that purity, and everyone at the temple carries that same serene energy."

The Clarity of the Western Land

"You know, I was originally following the wishes of my husband. He had not expressed a desire to go to the Western Land, so I simply remained at the temple. It was only when he finally decided that he wanted to go that I followed him. No wonder the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre sees so many spirits coming to seek Spiritual Deliverance—it is truly a remarkable and unique place! Thank you so much, Fengzhi! You have allowed us to witness such a grand, magnificent scene. Everywhere I look, it is golden and brilliant, so bright and luminous. Everyone’s face is filled with smiles, and we feel such immense . When I was at the temple, I listened to the sutras every single day and chanted Namo Amituofo with everyone else. In the past, when I heard people chanting 'Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo,' I did not understand what it meant. I only knew that everyone was chanting to the Buddha, asking for his protection. Now, I finally understand that it is only by chanting Namo Amituofo that one can truly reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

A Message to the Living

"Fengzhi, my dear! Regardless of what my son thinks, you must continue to chant Namo Amituofo diligently. This is your own journey, your own path. If he believes, then by all means, bring him in to chant; but if he does not believe, you must still keep chanting with a sincere heart. You know how educated people can be quite stubborn—they often refuse to believe until they see it for themselves. This is not something that can be explained away with logic or debate. We ourselves had to experience it to truly believe. Now, both your father and I are already here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Even our in-laws came to greet us! I could barely recognise them at first—they looked so young, so joyful, and their faces were beaming with smiles. If you could see them, you would be so happy, too.

No matter what challenges you encounter in life, you must stay close to Namo Amituofo. Now that you have Practitioner Su guiding you, do not look elsewhere. Keep your heart steady and focus on chanting. That is all I have to say for now, Mother. You two must take good care of yourselves.

Thank you, Namo Amituofo, and thank you, Practitioner Su. Thank you to everyone."
