A Sudden Departure and the Path to Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Feng Suping, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her passing in 2022. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on June 24, 2022.

Lay Practitioner Feng Suping speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Feng Suping. Even now, as I prepare to speak, I cannot help but weep. It was only after Practitioner Su guided me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss that my heart finally began to settle into a state of true peace.

From the moment the incident occurred until I departed from this world, only a few days had passed. I truly never expected that my life would end so suddenly. I know that my family must find it impossible to accept, especially since we were just about to celebrate a joyous wedding in the family. It feels like a dream—or rather, a nightmare from which I have only just awakened.

The Shock of a Sudden Departure

If it were not for my aunt and my cousin, Guo Yaojia, who reached out to save me, I would still be suffering in the hells right now. I truly had no idea that I had created such great karma in my past lives. I was completely unaware that there were so many beings who were unwilling to let me go, beings who had been waiting for this exact moment to come and claim my life as retribution.

When my physical body was lying in the intensive care unit, my spirit had already been seized. There were so many karmic creditors surrounding my hospital bed—they were densely packed, layer upon layer, blocking me from returning to my body. That is why I could not wake up. These beings shouted at me, 'You broke your promise! It is time for you to pay with your life!' I was utterly confused; I did not understand what they were talking about because I had long since forgotten my past.

The Truth of My Past Karma

It was only later, when I was in the hells, that I saw everything I had done in my previous lives. It turns out that I had been responsible for breaking up far too many families. At that time, I knelt before them and swore that if I were ever reborn as a human again, I would certainly perform meritorious deeds to repay them. But in this current life, I had completely forgotten those past events. Because of this, they were filled with rage and came to find me, unwilling to let me go. They were determined to collect the debt of my life.

I left behind the home where I had lived for decades, and I took nothing with me. I did not even have the chance to say a final word to anyone. After spending this time listening to the Dharma at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and undergoing the process of purification, I have come to realise that there is really nothing left to say. This home was merely a temporary stop for my spirit during this cycle of samsara. Now that I have departed, the home has become nothing more than a memory of the past. No matter how much I say, I cannot return to it.

A Message to My Children

Perhaps my children cannot understand what their mother is saying right now. These are things that I only truly grasped after I no longer had a physical body. If my children could only understand this truth, perhaps they would be able to 'see through' and 'let go' of the attachments of this world.

I have left, and even as I say this, I cannot help but shed tears. I am crying as I say goodbye to everyone, but I hold onto the hope that I will have the opportunity to see all of you in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to my aunt and my cousin, Guo Yaojia. Thank you for saving me; it is only because of you that I was able to escape the suffering of the hells.

I also wish to thank Practitioner Su. The great compassion of Practitioner Su has truly saved so many beings. If I were still alive in this world, I would certainly kneel before Practitioner Su and kowtow in gratitude. I hope that my children can offer my thanks to Practitioner Su on my behalf.
