Wu Huanwang, the grandmother of Lay Practitioner He Huiping, sought deliverance through the ceremony at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Having been liberated from the ghost realm, she now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on December 17, 2021.

Lay Practitioner Wu Huanwang speaks:

"Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo, Namo Amituofo." (Wu Huanwang presses her palms together in a gesture of deep reverence.)

"Coming here to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, hearing the sound of Practitioner Su’s daily talks, my heart is overflowing with such immense . My eyes are filled with tears—tears of relief, tears of gratitude. When I was in the human world, I did not understand the Truth. I lived without wisdom, and because of that, I easily accumulated so much negative . Looking back at my past now, my heart is heavy with shame and the need for deep repenting.

I am so incredibly thankful to my granddaughter, Huiping, for helping me. She reached out, she cared, and she helped me find my way here. Because of her, I have truly attained liberation. You know, the emotional attachments I held onto throughout my life—they were like chains. They made my heart suffer so deeply. Even at the very last moment of my life, I still could not let go of those . That inability to release my attachments is what pulled me down into the ghost realm. I was trapped there, drowning in my own mental notes, unable to wake up, unable to see the light.

The Sound of the Dharma and the Tears of Regret

I have no idea how many years I spent in that dark, confused state. It felt like an eternity of wandering. Then, suddenly, I heard it—that voice, that call that finally awakened me. The moment I became clear-headed, I found myself sitting here, resting upon this beautiful lotus seat. Every single day, I am bathed in the gentle, warm glow of the Buddha’s light, and the music of the Buddha plays constantly in the air around me. It is so peaceful.

Every day, Practitioner Su gives Dharma talks. Each time I listen, it feels as though my heart is being washed clean by pure, cool water. I am so profoundly grateful for Practitioner Su’s explanations of the Dharma. It was those teachings that finally allowed me to wake up from my long, painful slumber.

A Grandmother's Final Plea

Huiping, my dear, you are such a wonderful, kind-hearted child. Thank you for performing the Chao Du for me. You have helped me reach this state of true liberation. I hope that you will continue to practise diligently, and I hope you will bring everyone else to the Pure Land as well. I know now, with absolute certainty, that this is the only place that can truly help everyone escape the vast, turbulent ocean of suffering in this world.

Please, do not continue to wander in the cycle of samsara and endure such unnecessary suffering! Having experienced this journey myself, I have finally let go of all my attachments. The Buddha’s education is so perfect, so profound. We humans are just too attached to everything—to people, to things, to our own egos. The Buddha is the only one who can help us wake up. You must come here to learn the Truth of the Buddha.

I am now in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is truly a place of total liberation, and I am doing very well here. I hope that all of you will come here to find the Buddha, and I look forward to the day when we can all be reunited in this beautiful place.

I offer my deepest gratitude to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su. Namo Amituofo." (Wu Huanwang presses her palms together.)
