Dialogue with the Buddha: The Path of Changing the Heart
Dharma Talk by Practitioner Su, Episode 18
Recorded on June 4, 2017

In this eighteenth episode of his talks, Practitioner Su shares profound insights from his direct dialogue with Namo Amituofo. The central theme of this discourse is the vital necessity of changing the heart—a process of deep internal transformation that is essential for every practitioner on the path to the of Ultimate Bliss.
The Foundation of True Practice
Why must we change our hearts? Our hearts are often clouded by the of greed, anger, ignorance, arrogance, and doubt. To truly leave suffering behind and find happiness, we must look inward and address the root causes of our distress. Changing the heart is not merely a change in mood; it is a fundamental shift in our orientation toward the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
A Sacred Dialogue
Practitioner Su recounts his conversation with Namo Amituofo, illustrating how the Buddha provides guidance at every moment. This dialogue is not merely an intellectual exercise but a spiritual alignment. When we open our hearts to the Buddha, we allow the light of wisdom to penetrate the darkness of our past . This is how we begin to realise our true nature and prepare for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Steps Toward Purification
To change the heart effectively, one must engage in consistent, daily practice. Practitioner Su emphasises that the path is built upon simple, disciplined actions:
- Daily :
- Bowing to Namo Amituofo to cultivate humility and respect.Buddha-recitation:
- Chanting the name of Namo Amituofo with a sincere and focused heart to clear the mind.Sutra Study: Reciting the Infinite Life Sutra to gain the wisdom necessary to navigate the cycle of rebirth.
From Confusion to
By changing the heart, we undergo a profound metamorphosis. We transition from confusion to awakening, from wrong paths to the right path, and from impurity to purity. This is the ultimate goal of our practice at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. As we purify our body, mind, and spirit, we become vessels for the of Namo Amituofo, working to save infinite suffering beings. Let us cherish every moment and continue to chant Namo Amituofo all the way, ensuring our hearts remain aligned with the Buddha until we reach the Land of Eternal Tranquil Light.
