The Boundless Horizon of the Heart

When the heart is liberated, one attains the Way. Within the Way, one is naturally at ease. With a joyful heart, one understands the path, and the path naturally reveals the of Ultimate Bliss. Throughout the ages, people have often asked: Where is Namo Amituofo? Common wisdom suggests that the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is unimaginably far away, located at the distant edge of the universe. However, distance is merely a construct of the mind. You must believe in what is right before you. If you reach out your hand, the Buddha is right there. How can there be any talk of distance? Namo Amituofo is naturally present within the heart of every single person.

The Call to Awaken

Since ancient times, there have been many accounts of Namo Amituofo descending into this world to sentient beings. Yet, when the Buddha truly arrives, people often dismiss these accounts as mere rumours or legends. Why is it that Namo Amituofo must personally come here today? It is because the dust of this world is so thick that humanity has lost its way and needs to encounter the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way once more. Everyone claims to have their own reasons and their own logic, but true awakened being is not found in intellectual debate. It is found in the act of letting go. You do not need complex theories to find the Truth.

The Sincerity of Practice

The teachings of the Buddha only become meaningful when you truly calm your mind and listen with sincerity. This is the only way to grasp the Truth. Consider your daily practice:

  • Chanting Namo Amituofo: This is only truly beneficial when your mind is fully focused and undistracted.
  • Prostrations: Bowing to the Buddha is only effective when your heart is completely surrendered.
  • Recitation: Reading the sutras is only fruitful when your spirit is aligned with the Buddha's intent.

Practice is both easy and difficult. It is easy if you have a sincere heart, but it is difficult if you are burdened by your own attachments. Now that the Buddha has come to guide our practice, it is my sincere hope that all who are gathered here will truly learn and apply these teachings.

Returning to the Source

Namo Amituofo is in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, yet the Buddha is also here in this world. To Chao Du sentient beings and save the world, the Buddha comes to where the need is greatest. The experience of purity can only be truly understood when your heart is fully engaged. Whether you have faith or not depends entirely on the difference in your own diligent practice. This is the supreme path. There is nothing more important than liberating yourself from the cycle of birth and death. You must remember this: finding the true home of your spirit is the only real Truth. Do not blindly pursue external things, for only when your own body, mind, and spirit are truly in charge can you find the right path. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi.
