Lay Practitioner Xu Qingzong, the brother of Lay Practitioner Xu Yishan, sought deliverance and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded on June 28, 2025.

Lay Practitioner Xu Qingzong speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Right now, everything before my eyes is filled with brilliant light. The Buddha is standing right in front of me. I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I never imagined that such a magnificent world truly existed. The beauty of this place is so profound that it has made me almost entirely forget the suffering I once endured. In particular, I find myself constantly wanting to grasp and cherish the wonderful peace that this world brings to my spirit.

The Serenity of the Seven-Jewel Pond

Within the Seven-Jewel Pond, I see lotus flowers of every imaginable colour, and each one radiates a soft, golden light. As I gaze upon these lotus blossoms, my heart feels as though it has finally found a place of rest; it is incredibly calm and still. The turmoil of my past life has simply melted away.

Everything I see before me is absolutely exquisite, and I am filled with such deep gratitude. I am so incredibly fortunate to have been able to come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. All of these Causal Conditions—this entire journey—I owe to Practitioner Su. I am also deeply thankful to my younger sister for her help, which allowed my spirit to stop wandering in the darkness and finally find its home.

A Sudden Departure

Regarding my passing, I know it was far too sudden. I know my family members have been grieving and suffering because of my departure. To be honest, I was not prepared to leave all of you either; but everything happened so quickly, and I had no choice in the matter. It was a transition that was beyond my control.

At that moment, I was plunged into a vast, terrifying darkness, and I felt such intense fear. I did not expect that shortly after, my entire being would be subjected to such agony. Even now, when I look back on that suffering, I still feel a shiver of fear. But thankfully, it did not last long before I was guided toward the light.

A Message of Peace to My Family

My spirit was led to the Buddha-land, where I have come to understand so many things that were hidden from me before. I realise now that the I created in my past life was something I had to repay. Therefore, regarding the pain and fear I experienced during the process of leaving the human world, I no longer harbour any complaints, nor do I feel any regret. Now that I have moved on, I truly hope that all of you can find peace and settle your hearts. I want you to know that I am doing very well here; my entire being feels cool, refreshed, and at ease.

Sometimes, when I listen to the Buddha-name being chanted here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I cannot help but smile with . I can chant the Buddha's name, and I can gaze upon the most beautiful scenery imaginable. So, please, do not grieve for me anymore. You must live your own lives well. If you think of me, simply chant Namo Amituofo, for I am right there beside the Buddha.

I am filled with gratitude to the Buddha and to Practitioner Su. If you are able, please perform some acts of Generosity on my behalf. Consider it a way to repay the Buddha's kindness; it is the only thing I can do for the Buddha now.

With deepest gratitude.

Xu Qingzong, with palms joined in reverence."
