The Call to Chanting in Times of Illness

When you are faced with the suffering of illness, how should you respond? You must gather your heart and focus your spirit. Even when the physical pain is difficult to bear, you must not let your mental notes pass in vain. Let the name of Namo Amituofo flow continuously from your heart. You must maintain this practice with continuous chanting without interruption, allowing the Buddha-name to be your only refuge.

The Danger of Neglect

In our daily lives, when we are healthy and comfortable, we often neglect to chant the Buddha-name. We fail to maintain the state of continuous chanting without interruption. It is only when the suffering of illness manifests that we suddenly remember the power of the Buddha-name. While it is never too late to begin, it is far more difficult to focus your mind when you are in the midst of constant pain. Therefore, you must practise diligently while you are still well, so that your foundation is strong when the time of trial arrives.

Navigating the Final Moments

When you approach the final moments of your life, how should you proceed? Only the Buddha-name can save you. With a single-minded focus, you must chant Namo Amituofo. By doing so, you will avoid being reincarnated and successfully enter the of Ultimate Bliss. This is the only way to ensure your liberation from the suffering of this world.

The Wisdom of Preparation

When the elements separate, the spirit suffers. This is the moment of separation between the spirit and . Often, one is reincarnated following their . Let this be a warning to all practitioners! If you can know the time of your passing in advance, it is a great blessing. It allows you to avoid the intense suffering that occurs when the elements separate. With the Buddha appearing and the lotus manifesting, you will ascend to the Western Pure Land. This is the ultimate success of your practice.
