The Essence of Life-Giving Water

Water is the fundamental source of life for all living beings. It nourishes not only our physical bodies but also our wisdom-life, allowing our spirits to move and respond with clarity. When our bodies are moistened by water, we are cleansed of the dust and filth that accumulate in our daily lives. This purification allows the earth to remain fresh, vibrant, and full of life.

The Buddha-land, the Buddha-heart, and the Buddha-vow are one. Wherever these vows are fulfilled, that place becomes a dwelling for the Buddha. The earth requires the nourishment of water to sustain its endless cycles of growth. Deep beneath the surface, water serves as the source, yet it is the rain falling from the heavens that replenishes the earth, following the natural laws of the universe.

The Celestial Mandate and the Rain God

The arrival of rain is not a random occurrence; it is governed by the principles of the universe. The Rain God acts according to the celestial mandate. The amount of rain that falls is determined by the specific conditions present in a given location. It is not a matter of physical labour or toil, but a precise manifestation of karmic balance.

If we allow our practice to become stagnant or locked away, we hinder our own . We must remember that the rain is a blessing for all things to grow. We should humbly invite the Rain God to be compassionate. If there are deficiencies in our environment or if we are waiting for specific conditions to be met, we must look inward to see what is missing.

Virtue as the Foundation of Prosperity

Throughout history, it has been observed that when a region lacks virtue and moral integrity, it is prone to the arrival of the Plague God. Conversely, places where practitioners reside—places where one cultivates both and wisdom—are rare and precious. Such locations are protected by the collective merit of the community.

We must observe our surroundings with care. If the rain has not yet fallen, we must ask ourselves what is required for the conditions to mature. In our recent practice, we have been dedicating our merit to the Rain God, inviting the arrival of life-giving water. However, we must continue our efforts with sincerity.

The Path of Diligent Practice

To truly change our circumstances, we must focus on the following pillars of practice:

  • Diligent Purification:
  • We must work to change our hearts and our nature, as this is the root of all .Realisation:
  • We must persist in our practice until we realise our true nature and attain Buddhahood.Alignment:
  • When we are aligned with the Truth, we can manifest what is needed with ease, seeing all things as one body with infinite manifestations.Right Conduct: We must maintain right knowledge, right thoughts, and right actions at all times.

The universe is filled with immeasurable and boundless life force. When the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are in harmony, there is no lack and no disturbance. The way to nurture life is simple: we must align ourselves with the natural laws of the universe.

The Power of Collective Dedication

If we deviate from the right path, the outcome of our journey will be different. Therefore, we must learn to let go of our attachments and focus entirely on our Body, Speech, and Mind. When we act without self-interest, with no thoughts of the ego, and only for the sake of all beings, the benefits are multiplied:

  • When one person practises with this sincerity, they receive the benefit. When two people practise together, the benefit is doubled. When three people join in, the benefit is tripled. When a large community practises together, the collective benefit is immeasurable.

By combining our own efforts with the power of the Buddha, we can successfully walk the path of the Dharma. As the benefits of the Dharma descend upon all living beings, we can all board the great ship of the Dharma together, sailing directly toward the of Ultimate Bliss.
