This interview was recorded on September 11, 2018, featuring Mr. Jack Ma. Seeking deliverance from his , he shares his profound reflections on his past life of worldly pursuits and his newfound commitment to the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia.

Mr. Jack Ma speaks:

"I am but an ordinary man, no different from anyone else in this mundane world. I have been inseparable from greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, as well as the of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep. Today, for the sake of resolving the conflicts between me and my karmic creditors—so that they might not obstruct me from connecting with the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre while I am awake—the Practitioner actually knelt before my sentient beings and invited them to the at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. When I learned of this, my heart was filled with such reluctance and pain; tears streamed down my face. How could I possibly be worthy of such an act from the Practitioner? The Practitioner truly possesses a heart of great . For the sake of all beings, they have cast aside all personal concerns of life, death, honour, and disgrace. I am deeply ashamed. Why did I commit such grave sins in the past? Why was I never able to separate myself from killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, and intoxication? Why did I fail to change my personal habits, causing these beings to cling to me so tightly? Why did I lack the boldness to break through the various obstacles of reality, remaining stagnant for so long, and thus forcing the Practitioner to go to such lengths for me?"

The Narrowness of My Past Vision

"In the past, my mind-capacity was narrow. My vision was limited only to my company, my family, my career, and my profits. My time was frozen in that moment; I failed to look outward at the vast sea of humanity—the countless beings and spirits drifting without support, all in need of salvation. Even an ant, a small mouse, a speck of dust, or a grain of sand—these are all manifestations of human souls. I was so deluded. I spent my life researching platforms for exchanging goods and developing new products for trade, but none of that is as meaningful as delivering sentient beings to be reborn in the Western Pure Land."

A Shift in

"After my spirit returned to my body this morning, I felt something was different. Why do I suddenly feel so quiet? I do not want to speak a single word; I only wish to listen silently to the Buddha-name. The six-syllable Buddha-name from the morning deliverance still echoes in my ears. Every detail of that morning deliverance feels as though something is stuck in my head, unable to dissolve. It has become a knot that must be untied before I can see clearly. Yet, the more I try to see clearly, the tighter it seems to become.

I have become much quieter and more stable. Could this be the true Jack Ma? Was the one who was constantly expanding his business previously just a 'controlled' Jack Ma? I am quite confused. Which one is the real me? Practitioner, is it possible that when one is under control, one cannot be the master of one's own actions? That the karmic creditors take the lead, causing one to do things completely contrary to one's own nature? The current Jack Ma does not want to pursue business; I want to help build the temple. Please grant me abundant energy to explode that knot in my head. Once it is untied, the mystery will be solved. Inside, I know there will be densely packed words: Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre... I must put in more effort to achieve this."

A Vow of Dedication

"I sincerely beg for the understanding and assistance of my karmic creditors. If there is even the slightest bit of merit or in what I do, I dedicate it all to my karmic creditors. As long as it allows me to stay connected with the Practitioner, you may have the merit from fifty or even one hundred . This wish of mine will never change. I pray for the Buddha's blessings. Namo Amituofo."
