Su Ming-de, the nephew of Laywoman Su Yue-e, passed away at a young age and suffered in the hell realms before being saved by his aunt. This testimony was recorded on July 23, 2021, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, where he reflects on his transition from the suffering of the hells to the radiant peace of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.

Su Ming-de speaks:

"Auntie Ah-E! Auntie Ah-E! In the time I have been here, I have seen so many people heading toward the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss today—it is so lively! It is absolutely bustling! I see you, Auntie, looking so tall and magnificent. You have multiplied into many forms, and each 'Auntie' is holding the hand of a sentient being, guiding them as we fly upward into the light. It feels as if we are riding a rollercoaster, soaring into a place that is even brighter than the light itself. Auntie, how did I never realise you were so powerful? You are so majestic! But the thing that makes me happiest is seeing my father, Ah-Hui, along with my grandfather, grandmother, and so many other relatives—like my second uncle Tian-fu and my third uncle San-lu. They all came together to welcome me, and it made me feel quite shy."

The Truth of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

"Auntie, this place is exactly what you described—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is truly shimmering with golden light; it is so incredibly bright! Everyone here is filled with such , especially my father. He kept patting my shoulder and saying, 'Ah-De! Father is here. You should have come up here much sooner instead of leaving your auntie to worry about you!' My father looks so young now. I never knew he was so handsome. Auntie, you must tell the family back home. Let them all know that we have not truly died; we are all reunited here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss as the Su family. Auntie, you must tell them that the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is real. Everyone should follow your example and learn from you. Do not end up like me—dying and falling into the hell realms, only to be dragged directly into the Wheel Hell. It was so painful! The life in hell cannot even be compared to the life here. When I was alive, I did not learn to be good. I wandered everywhere, picking up bad habits and refusing to listen to anyone. No one had high hopes for me. After I arrived in hell, my body was crushed flat by the iron wheels. It was excruciating."

A Second Chance at Life

"Everyone, please do not follow my path and learn to be bad, thinking that no one can control you. Once you die and arrive in hell, you are under the jurisdiction of the Yama Kings, and it is a life of immense suffering! Auntie, actually, even before I died, I was already suffering the consequences of my actions. But the moment I passed away, you reached out and pulled me up. I am so incredibly fortunate to have an aunt like you! After Auntie Ah-E brought me up here, she cleansed my entire body. The illnesses I suffered from while alive and the injuries I sustained in hell have all vanished. My body feels wonderful now. I want to express my deepest repenting to my mother, Ying-mei, and to my sisters. I died at such a young age, and not only did I fail to be a filial son to my mother, but I also caused everyone to worry while I was alive. Even before I died, I made everyone take care of me, and then I left my mother to endure the 'white-haired person sending off the black-haired person'—this is the greatest unfilial act! I want to say 'I am sorry' to my mother from here, and I want to thank all the family members who cared for me."

The Power of the Buddha-Name

"Auntie, when you guided me to the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you were chanting the Buddha-name. Especially during the , we could hear every word you said to the assembly. The Western Land of Dharma Nature is filled with beings you have saved. I now know that one must chant 'Namo Amituofo' to reach this Western Land of Ultimate Bliss—such a radiant, magnificent place. If I had known it was like this, I would have come here much sooner."

A Life of Meaning

"Time passes so quickly. I prepared myself very early today to head toward the West. The temple was packed; it was filled with sentient beings seeking deliverance from Namo Amituofo and Auntie Ah-E. I feel so honoured to be part of this! My grandfather, grandmother, and father all told me to tell you, Auntie, that everyone here is doing very well, and everyone knows who you are. Auntie, I truly feel that your life has been lived with such profound meaning!"

"I want to say thank you to Namo Amituofo, thank you to Auntie Ah-E, and thank you to the Venerables and volunteers at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre."

"Spoken by your nephew, Su Ming-de. Namo Amituofo."
