Seeking to Leave the Three Realms, One Must Follow the Buddha's Path
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded on 13 July 2017

On the thirteenth day of July in the year 2017, the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi, respectfully bowed and invited the Buddha to share his wisdom. Namo Amituofo began his discourse, offering a profound reflection on the nature of our existence and the path to true liberation.
The Fleeting Echoes of Worldly Devotion
Across the villages and towns, people gather in great numbers to seek for their families. The air is filled with the scent of incense, and pilgrims travel in a constant stream. Each person comes with their own desires, praying to the heavens, consulting oracles, and seeking peace, health, and prosperity. During festive seasons, the streets are adorned with lanterns and colourful decorations, and offerings of flowers, fruits, and traditional gifts are presented with deep sincerity.
People hope for a return on their devotion, yet in their pursuit of worldly rewards, they often forget the simple, profound truth of their own nature. They become lost in the cycle of worldly desires, failing to realise that these fleeting moments of and sorrow are merely a play of . When the curtain falls and the crowd disperses, one is left to face the consequences of their own actions, bound by the laws of cause and effect.
The Fragile Beauty of Human Tradition
The traditions of the world, such as the rich heritage of Confucian culture and its emphasis on moral foundations, have been passed down for thousands of years. These teachings are beautiful, sincere, and possess a unique cultural colour. They provide a framework for living in the human world and have guided countless generations. However, even the highest heavenly realms are not permanent. Without the Buddha's teachings, one remains trapped in the cycle of rebirth, unable to secure a lasting peace.
The Call to Transcend the Three Realms
This is why I speak to you today, hoping that you will clearly understand the truth: to truly leave the Three Realms, one must follow the Buddha's path. Even the celestial beings and spirits in the heavenly realms look toward the of Ultimate Bliss for ultimate liberation. While the foundations of Confucianism and Taoism are essential for living a proper life in the human world, the Buddha's teachings represent the supreme path that transcends these worldly methods.
The Living Wisdom of the Sutras
The sutras are not merely books to be read, nor are they subjects for academic examination. They are living wisdom. The profound meaning within the lines of the sutras manifests according to the state of your heart. You must read them with a living, flexible mind, integrating the Buddha's teachings into your daily life. Being a good person is the basic requirement, but to transcend the human world, you must go further. This is why I have transmitted these teachings to you.
A Compassionate Invitation Home
For thousands of years, I have stood waiting, watching for my lost children to return to the path. You are caught in the cycle of rebirth, forgetting your true nature because of the dust of the world. You suffer in the cycle of rebirth, and even when you are reincarnated, you forget your past due to the influence of the cycle. You remain lost, clinging to desires and focusing only on your own small concerns, forgetting the vastness of your original nature.
I have come to this world to lead you with my compassionate light. If you can see this light, can you remember? You once belonged to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, yet now you are lost in the difficulties of this world. I wait for the moment you awaken, that you may turn toward this magnificent path and return home to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Shi Faxi.
