An Interview with the Ancient Demon Mo Gangqiang

This is a record of an interview with Mo Gangqiang, an ancient demon who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Nature. This account reflects upon his existence spanning approximately 762.2 billion years. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on March 15, 2026.
Mo Gangqiang speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am an ancient demon from the old country of China, known as Mo Gangqiang.
Recently, I heard China being referred to as the 'Divine Land'—a name long forgotten by many. Now, it is being spoken of again. Furthermore, two figures, Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, have arrived and swept across every province in China. In particular, the twelve rays of Buddha-light have destroyed every one of our demon palaces right before our eyes. This was truly shocking to us; it was unbelievable and difficult to accept, yet we had no choice but to accept it. Moreover, wherever that Buddha-light shone, it opened up the space where the old and ancient demons resided and transported us to this place.
A Realm of Light and Purity
I am currently located at the Western Land of Dharma Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. This is a spiritual land, a place of high quality and high energy. I had never seen anything like it; it is a realm of pure light. We are now sitting on lotus seats, and the fragrance of these lotuses drifts everywhere. The environment is certainly not one where demon beings—especially ancient and old demons like myself, who were once covered in pitch-black darkness—would typically reside. Furthermore, the demon crowds would never have imagined that upon entering this place, our black garments would automatically be replaced. At this moment, I, an ancient Earth demon of 762.2 billion years, am wearing clean, white robes and sitting upon a lotus seat. When I heard Namo Amituofo call the name 'Mo Gangqiang' to accept an interview at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, my heart truly trembled. An interview? This is something I have never done before. I only knew how to do what I was told. Shortly after being called, the interview with Mo Gangqiang began.
My demon palace was located in Hunan Province, China, which is in the central part of the country. This region has both arid areas and fertile land. The palace I established was near a lake, so the water source and moisture were quite abundant; we lacked nothing. We lived by absorbing the spiritual energy from human beings and the energy of the earth itself.
Five Millennia of Shadow
In this space, my demon palace had been established for nearly five thousand years. In other words, ever since the beginning of Chinese history, the demon palace of Mo Gangqiang has existed. My influence extended throughout Hunan, Hubei, and many surrounding provinces, where my demon kings, demon children, and demon grandchildren had established smaller demon palaces. This location was the headquarters.
Demon kings, demon children, and demon grandchildren belong to a spiritual space and can come and go freely. In this space, we could see human beings in the demon palace with perfect clarity. When to appear, when we wanted to appear, and when to return to the palace—these were all matters of . Yet, the moment the twelve rays of Buddha-light brought by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su shone down, my grand demon palace of over five thousand years, along with the smaller palaces established by my demon descendants, were dissolved before my eyes. Alas, I was inside the palace at the time. One could imagine it as... I originally wanted to say that humans are like the creatures on the ground, but I cannot say that now, because we have been sent to this bright place by Practitioner Su from the human world. This means that while the demon palace existed in a different space, we could see the actions of the people on the ground, as well as the changes in mountains, rivers, lakes, insects, and animals with perfect clarity. If a demon wanted to control the hearts and actions of humans or animals, it was a very simple matter.
The Weight of History and
In the environment and space of China, the land is filled with spirit realm beings, some of whom are layered upon one another. For five thousand years, wars in China have never ceased. How many generals, soldiers, horses, and civilians have died? It is truly too many, countless. Even though many ancestral masters and venerable masters have been willing to perform to deliver the deceased, their time and ability were ultimately limited. There has never been anything like the twelve rays of Buddha-light brought by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su this time—so intense, so shocking, and so damaging, at least from the perspective of the demon crowds.
At this moment, I, the ancient demon Mo Gangqiang, am sitting on a lotus seat in the Western Land of Dharma Nature. I can see the situation of the Dharma assembly where Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su are delivering the beings of mainland China. I can understand the changes and shifts in the moods of the demon beings who have been sent into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, and I have also heard Practitioner Su give one or two Dharma talks. Therefore, I am clear in my heart that this is a great manifestation of that the demon crowds of China could not resist.
The Power of the Buddha
I have never seen such a large-scale, powerful, and super-forceful Buddha-power used to deliver demon beings. My age of 762.2 billion years is far, far greater than the age of the Earth. I have seen the formation, abiding, destruction, and emptiness of this planet, and I am not unfamiliar with the Buddha’s teachings. To be honest, the Buddha’s teachings have existed in the vastness of the Dharma Realm for countless years and eons.
When I, Mo Gangqiang, was still a little demon, I knew of the existence of the Buddha’s teachings, and I knew of the existence of Namo Amituofo. Today, I am fortunate and lucky to have lived for over 700 billion years, remaining at the location of this planet, Earth, and witnessing the birth, aging, sickness, and death of humans and other beings. I have never seen a human being with such boldness, delivering the land of China. This ancient country has suffered many injuries and experienced many recoveries. I have also participated in them many times.
Namo Amituofo is not unfamiliar to the Chinese people; one could say that this Buddha was once a household name. I truly did not expect that this Buddha was a real, living existence, and that at this time, He would appear on the land of China. Wherever Practitioner Su’s countless billions of manifestations go, the Buddha appears. This includes ancient demons, many demon crowds, the spirits of deceased humans, animals, large marine life, and even the ghosts of the spirit realm, such as the spirits of soldiers from wars. After being illuminated by the twelve rays of Buddha-light, they were all sent into the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo and arrived at the Western Land of Dharma Nature. This is truly inconceivable, truly inconceivable!
The Cost of Resistance
The important thing is that we are unharmed; everyone is safe, and no one has been violated. This is unlike the time when the demon crowds launched a massive attack on Practitioner Su, especially targeting the eyes, cheeks, the skin and pores of the eyebrows, as well as the heart and back. These areas were indeed where the demon crowds exerted their greatest efforts to use magic. Because the force of the magic was so strong, many of us demons were in pain all over our bodies, suffered internal injuries, and were unable to stand properly or recover our strength.
Practitioner Su, oh Practitioner Su, we all know that you have suffered tremendous pain; this is not ordinary suffering. Seventeen or eighteen thousand demon beings from Earth attacked Practitioner Su and the fourfold assembly; the force was immense. The fourfold assembly could hardly bear it, swaying and on the verge of collapse, some even closing their eyes, unable to continue the Dharma assembly. Yet you, Practitioner Su, chanted alone from beginning to end. It has been like this for the past two days, and today, the third day of the Dharma assembly, it is still the same. Moreover, you are full of spirit, chanting better and better as you go. This makes me, Mo Gangqiang, have to admire you.
It seems that it is truly as you said: for thousands of years in China, no one has performed deliverance, and the spirits are too miserable, so you made a great vow to save them. Now, Mo Gangqiang can say that you have also delivered the Demon Realm.
A New Beginning
The demon palaces were actually dissolved by the twelve rays of light; so many demon palaces were dissolved. In every province, there are many demon palaces, and each one was built by a demon king, an ancient demon, or an old demon according to their vows. The demon palaces accumulated over thousands of years have simply disappeared before our eyes under the illumination of the Buddha-light. How can one bear this? Upon closer inspection, it turns out that each ray of Buddha-light is capable of dissolving a demon palace, and the combined force of the twelve rays is too strong. Even a demon palace like mine, which existed for over five thousand years, could not resist it.
Who would believe this if told? We have experienced it firsthand. The Chinese have always found it difficult to resist demon crowds, especially practitioners, because many have weak vows. As soon as the demon crowds interfere slightly, or present some tests, or create some obstacles, they retreat. There has never been anyone like Practitioner Su who says they will deliver, and then actually delivers. In fact, we had heard news about this person called Practitioner Su, but we never expected that this time, action would be taken against mainland China.
However, when we look closely at the background of Practitioner Su, it is not surprising that he would act in this way. China has nurtured many excellent practitioners over the past five thousand years, and Practitioner Su is one of them. The so-called ancestral masters and venerable masters often hold great vows and power to save beings from suffering. Vows and power do not disappear; they exist continuously, and as they appear in the world and encounter the right environment, if there is an opportunity for the vow to manifest, it may be put into action.
Although Practitioner Su was born into this world in this lifetime as a laywoman, her practice is profound. Because she studied under Venerable Master Chin Kung and realised her true nature, this was done silently, and the demon crowds were unable to detect it. By the time the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre had Namo Amituofo residing there, and the demon crowds knew that a great disaster was imminent, it was already too late.
Now, the Demon Realm knows that this is not a disaster, but a great blessing. Many demon beings, especially these ancient demons of the Dharma Realm, are many times more senior than I, Mo Gangqiang. However, on this land of China on the planet Earth, most demon beings are still Earth demons. There are many old and ancient demons of my age, many of whom have gone to other planets to develop, and many who have taken root and established their own demon realm forces and palaces in other countries on Earth.
I, Mo Gangqiang, tell the demon children and grandchildren, as well as many old demons and demon kings, with a heavy heart: let it go! The opponent we have encountered this time is not an ordinary person, but a Buddha. The Buddha has always been unable to bear the suffering of beings, and what He does is to save beings. This time, besides saving beings, He is actually saving demons. Since He came to save demons, He will not retreat easily.
If you see the demon beings in the Land of Dharma Nature being sent in wave after wave, it truly makes your heart tremble. For them, I have gone from initial sighs and regrets to now turning to . When Mo Gangqiang saw the deliverance at the Dharma assembly, I saw that Practitioner Su’s heart was truly set on saving the demon crowds, so I have nothing more to say.
The things that demon beings have done carry heavy laws of karma and cause and effect. When everyone used magic against Practitioner Su, the retribution and demonic power often returned to themselves. Here, I have seen many demons who have been seriously injured and have no room to resist; while Practitioner Su, although suffering, continues to deliver countless demons. By comparison, Mo Gangqiang sees that the situation is lost, and I advise everyone not to engage in meaningless struggles, and to let go of the magic used against Practitioner Su. A Buddha is a Buddha; the Buddha can subdue demons, but demons cannot subdue the Buddha.
However, the demon children and grandchildren still do not recognise the Buddha, especially with the destruction of Buddhist artifacts, sutras, or temples in recent times, which often makes the true Buddha’s teachings disappear without a trace. The deeds of the ancestral masters and venerable masters of the past can only become memories. I did not expect that today, Practitioner Su would appear, possessing multiple identities: ancestral master and venerable master, one who has realised their true nature, the Buddha-body of Practitioner Su, delivering demon beings in the flesh, countless billions of manifestations, and the .
Practitioner Su, oh Practitioner Su, your life in this world has been too brilliant and magnificent; this is my heartfelt word. In short, I, Mo Gangqiang, continue to see and hear things here in the Land of Dharma Nature. Whether you call it practice or not, I could not help but join the masses in the , chanting the name of Namo Amituofo many times. At this moment, my heart is much calmer, and I am accepting all these changes with .
I must also thank Namo Amituofo and be grateful to Practitioner Su for giving Mo Gangqiang the opportunity to sit on a lotus seat and see all of this clearly. You have also saved many demon kings, demon children, and demon grandchildren, and everyone has their own in their hearts. In any case, I believe that from now on, we will live days of light, no longer having to live in the darkness of the Demon Realm, and no longer having to fear the retribution of the laws of karma and cause and effect. At least here, in this place protected by the Buddha-light, everyone can settle down with peace of mind!
Sitting here on the lotus seat has truly allowed my heart to relax and open up, and my demonic power has weakened significantly; it seems that my good character is slowly manifesting. Mo Gangqiang is no longer 'strong' [stubborn], but has gradually turned gentle. This must be the power of the Buddha’s teachings in the Western Land of Dharma Nature!
Mo Gangqiang hereby disappears from the Demon Realm and makes a final bow to step down from the Demon Realm.
