This is a record of an interview with Mo Quan, an ancient demon from the Milky Way who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the , reflecting upon his existence of 6.3 billion trillion years. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on March 17, 2026.

Mo Quan speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Looking at Maitreya before me, I, Mo Quan, can truly feel his boundless . The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is truly a place that is difficult to encounter in millions of years. Here, one can witness the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas that everyone is so familiar with. Their true forms are genuinely present within the Namo Buddhist Hall of this temple. It is not just Maitreya Bodhisattva; Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, and other Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are here too. Even the -protecting Bodhisattvas like Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Skanda Bodhisattva, and Sangharama Bodhisattva are present.

Of course, the most important presence is that of our great Buddha, Namo Amituofo. His true form radiates brilliant light within the Namo Amitabha Buddhist Hall twenty-four hours a day. Although we say he is in the hall, in reality, the Buddha is also present in the sky above the four hundred acres of the temple grounds. The Buddha is truly omnipresent.

A Witness to the Divine Presence

Now, residing in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I spend every moment admiring the miraculous sights of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The Buddha-light shines and permeates every corner of space, with golden light illuminating the entire earth. Countless sentient beings of the earth are bathed in this Buddha-light twenty-four hours a day. If they are willing to enter the light, they have the opportunity to be completely transformed. Such magnificent scenes occur at every moment on this sacred land. Because of the Buddha's presence, all beings have the chance to be saved.

Everything Practitioner Su thinks about is for the sake of sentient beings; he does not think of himself in the slightest. Even when he suffers, his heart remains unhindered. He uses his own physical body as a sacrifice to allow the boundless demon crowds the opportunity to be saved. Recently, Practitioner Su has used his own strength to resist the demon crowds throughout the vastness of the Dharma Realm. In our demon world, this is no longer considered news, because it happens every single day. Ah, I should not say 'resist,' because for the Buddha, there is no opposition to sentient beings; rather, he truly embraces all of them. It is precisely because of this mind-capacity that he can subdue us. If someone had a narrow mind, they would certainly be subdued by us instead.

The Unfathomable Heart of Practitioner Su

In the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I have been observing Practitioner Su's process of . For us demons, mind-reading skills are an essential ability. I can see that Practitioner Su's heart does not move at all. Even while his countless manifestations are delivering immeasurable beings, his heart remains perfectly clean and pure. He is truly 'without a mind.' Because he is without a mind, he cannot be shaken. There is simply no 'self' to speak of—this is truly profound! It turns out that a truly great mind-capacity is one that does not cling to anything; even after saving countless beings, he remains completely unstained.

Observing Practitioner Su's heart from the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I admire him immensely. He is truly extraordinary; this is a skill that we demons could never learn. Even an ancient demon like me, with billions of years of meditative concentration, has never truly changed my personality. The personality of a demon is, by nature, a manifestation of attachment. To be like Practitioner Su, who 'acts while not acting, and does not act while acting,' is simply impossible for us.

Now, having received the Buddha's teachings, I finally understand that this heart cannot be selfish. I have learned that working for others is working for oneself. Such a simple truth contains the universal principle, and this is something I must now study diligently.

The Web of Emotion and the Entertainment Industry

For people in the world, emotions and love are impossible to let go of. They are unable to see through them or put them down, easily becoming confused and lost. Talking about love and romance is a universal phenomenon in today's society. Many television dramas are filled with romance, or even base their entire themes around it. Through the ups and downs of emotional worlds presented before the audience, these shows pull at the viewers' hearts, satisfying their desires for situations they cannot have or have never experienced.

Many novels and celebrity idols do nothing but sing the praises of love. The very term 'love song' shows that nine out of ten popular songs are about romance. There is indeed control from us, the 'love demons,' in this. No matter what world it is, love is a personality trait deeply buried in the hearts of beings that is difficult to overcome. I, Mo Quan, targeted the massive market of China, leading the demon kings, demon children and grandchildren of the Milky Way to actively manage our 'love business' from every angle. The goal is to make the public increasingly addicted to romance, causing them to lose their reason and commit various sins.

History provides many clear examples: when people have emotions and love, they easily engage in irrational words and deeds, causing harm to themselves and others, and leading to social instability. Therefore, the more people in a society discuss love, the more unstable that society becomes. Conversely, if a society no longer had so many people, social media, and entertainment industries—like movies and television—discussing romance, the power of stability in that society would be much stronger.

We targeted people's longing for love, utilizing this weakness and preference, as well as the desires of the human body, to control many people and earn wealth. The most obvious example is the entertainer. The entertainment industry is the field we demons found most effective to exert our influence. I led my demon children and grandchildren to control directors, producers, screenwriters, and even actors, as well as famous stars and singers. Once we have the bodies of these people as our pawns, controlling the masses is easy. These people enjoy the fame and fortune that follows, not knowing that they are committing numerous sins under my control.

The Inevitable Encounter with the True Dharma

Take stars, for example. If it is a singer, many people have seen the scenes of concerts where thousands gather, the so-called 'one call, ten thousand responses.' But the world does not know that this is filled with the full power of our demon influence. Once they indulge in this and we enter their bodies, they find it even harder to let go of the sounds, lights, and desires. I do not know how many people in China are controlled this way, and I, Mo Quan, have played a part in it. It is no exaggeration to say that I am a major promoter of the Chinese entertainment industry.

This time, I received news that Practitioner Su was radiating the Twelve Lights in China to save us. My heart tightened when I heard this, because I have seen the scenes of Practitioner Su's Chao Du and know that I have absolutely no way to resist such power. That golden light is the greatest nemesis of us demons; once touched by it, it is the end for us. But honestly, I found it hard to let go of the entertainment empire I had built in China. Because the demon nature of humans on Earth is very strong, as long as they are tainted by love, they can commit very great sins. The demon energy produced is a powerful tonic for us. How could I be willing to give up such a great situation?

Do not think that because we come from the Milky Way, we can just go back. In reality, the situation for demon crowds in the Milky Way is brutal, with intense fighting for territory. In that environment, finding a stable, easy 'demon job' with such a high return is not easy. There is too much competition in the Milky Way, unlike the land of China on Earth, where the Buddha's teachings have been blocked, leaving the doors wide open.

The power of the True Dharma is the only force that can resist us. We demons provoke the personality traits and habits deep in the human heart—, anger, sorrow, happiness, love, hatred, desire; wealth, sex, fame, food, sleep; fame, power, status, and influence. These are all areas where we demons strike. Yet, the Buddha's teachings instruct people to thoroughly cut these things from their hearts, to let go of them completely until nothing is left, and even to give away this body entirely. Just like Practitioner Su, forgetting oneself, having no 'self,' and having only sentient beings in one's heart. Wow! If one achieves this, we demons have no way to deal with such a person.

A New Life in the Dharma-Nature Land

For us demons who have understood the Buddha's teachings, or have met the Buddha, we are very respectful! It is not as people think—that demons are disrespectful to the Buddha. Those who do that are ignorant demons who do not know the height of the sky or the depth of the earth, and only then would they dare to attack the Buddha. For a demon like 'Mo Quan' who has understood the Buddha, we would never dare. So, knowing that there is a Practitioner Su in the human world who has realised his true nature and attained Buddhahood, and that this Buddha is actively and extensively performing Chao Du in China—even sweeping across provinces, countries, and spaces—my heart went cold. Because the Buddha's power is boundless, there is only one path before the Buddha: to surrender.

The Buddha and the demon are two completely different existences. We demons develop our personalities to enhance our demon power; the Buddha gives away his body, has no 'self,' and exists entirely for sentient beings. This fundamental difference leaves us with no point of leverage. So, I cannot win this battle, and I do not want to run, so what should I do? I was conflicted. I could not give up the great territory in China that I had spent so much effort building. Many other demons wanted a piece of it, but I had acted first and set up high-level defences.

Now that a Buddha has appeared, saying he wants to save us, it makes all that effort feel like a dream or a bubble. Is it not a pity? After thinking it over, I had no choice, so I decided that 'running away is the best policy.' After all, 'as long as the green hills remain, one need not worry about firewood.'

Just as I was thinking this, Practitioner Su appeared on the land of China again, performing carpet-style Chao Du in a very short time. Heavens! How is it that this Buddha never seems to get tired? He does not need to rest. It is as if China is his neighbor, and he comes to visit at any time. I knew that there was no escaping this time, so seeing Practitioner Su arrive, I simply did nothing and let him do as he pleased. Just like that, unsurprisingly, under the shining golden light, I and my demon children and grandchildren were sent to the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.

Now, in the Dharma-Nature Land, we are peeling off the masks formed by our personalities since we entered the demon world, layer by layer. Very quickly, we have returned to the simple selves we had long forgotten. Looking at ourselves, my children and grandchildren and I could not help but shed tears, because this is the pure and good self we were before entering the demon world, or before being controlled by demon nature. Looking at myself like this, I could not help but wail, suddenly realising that the 6.3 billion trillion years in the demon world were truly too painful.

Yet, in the past, I was in the demon world, living in extreme suffering without knowing it, and even taking pleasure in it. This is truly terrifying. Now, thanks to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su coming to the world, we have the opportunity to be saved and reborn! Now, listening to Practitioner Su's Dharma talks, we all know that there is a place called the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and as long as we chant 'Namo Amituofo,' we can go there. After hearing this, everyone's heart brightened. We must grasp this Buddha-name tightly, as if it were our own lifeblood! We know our own affairs; the sins committed by us demons, especially by an ancient demon like me, are truly too numerous to record. Whether small or large, I have participated in every kind of demon activity, without exception. I used to be very proud of it, but now I only have full shame and repentance. How can I repay these immeasurable and boundless sins?

Thanks to the compassion of Namo Amituofo, who created the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss where one can be reborn while carrying , and thanks to the Western Dharma-Nature Land established by Practitioner Su as a transit station for rebirth, we demons can listen to the Dharma, be purified, and have a glimmer of hope. From this, one can see that Practitioner Su's appearance in the world is to save sentient beings. I believe this is a magnificent causal condition arranged long ago, and I am very happy to have encountered such an opportunity that is difficult to encounter in millions of years. I can only say that I, Mo Quan, am quite blessed!

Since I have the opportunity to be interviewed by the temple, I might as well say a little more. After all, Practitioner Su says we are saving the world, and I feel very honoured to participate in the cause of saving the world. As for the entertainment industry, it is well known that many major countries are developing it vigorously. Are all the people in the entertainment industry controlled by demons? Yes, I can say this very affirmatively. Because in such an environment, whether it is actors, singers, agents, or screenwriters, it is very easy to provoke the demon nature in their hearts while working.

This is why the power of the Buddha's teachings and the True Dharma is so important. If people do not receive Buddhist education and the influence of the True Dharma in their daily lives, when tests come, they often unknowingly become puppets of the demon crowds, with absolutely no power to resist. In the demon world, this is a happy thing, because we love humans who are easily controlled. They are a very good source of energy for us. But for the Buddha, this is a sad thing. That is why Practitioner Su has always wanted the teachings transmitted by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and Namo Amituofo—that is, Buddhist education and the power of the True Dharma—to be truly spread in China.

In recent years, the Buddha's teachings have been blocked in China, and the human heart has deteriorated to a certain extent. When the human heart deviates further and further from purity and goodness, it is actually creating negative karma, and eventually, one will reap what one sows, receiving the bitter fruits of negative retribution. That is indeed a very painful thing—painful because one suffers without knowing it, and painful because one does not know to let go of one's wrong concepts and behaviours. All of this requires the existence of Buddhist education to have a chance for transformation.

I must say, we demons see this point as clearly as Practitioner Su does. Therefore, many demons specialize in exerting their influence in this area. As far as I know, there are many ancient demons, old demons, and their demon forces from the Dharma Realm, the universe, the Milky Way, and other places in China, specifically and systematically blocking the Buddha's teachings. This is something they are proud of and have been doing for a long time. I, Mo Quan, try not to interfere with the existence of the Buddha or the teachings transmitted by the Buddha; after all, I have always held a certain awe. Now that I think about it, perhaps it was this thought of goodness that gave me the chance to be saved today; perhaps I helped myself a little.

The word 'emotion' is ever-changing and can be said to encompass everyone's life. For humans, there is no one without emotion. If a person were truly without emotion, in some respects, that would be truly extraordinary. The 'no emotion' mentioned here is not the cold-heartedness commonly understood, but the true 'no emotion' of letting go of all desires of this body. In fact, from a deeper perspective, as long as the word 'emotion' exists, there will be no true Buddha's teachings. This can be very well verified by Practitioner Su. Practitioner Su often says that he has even given up his home; he came out to save the world and help sentient beings. Practitioner Su has truly achieved this, not just by talking about it. This can be clearly seen in Practitioner Su's daily manifestations; he has truly achieved no emotion and no love. For all sentient beings, he has no love, no greed, and no hatred; it is purely a sincere heart to help sentient beings be saved. If they can be saved, that is best; if they cannot, then he follows the causal conditions. This is the brilliance of the Buddha.

People in today's society have too narrow and insufficient an understanding of 'emotion.' They do not realize that 'emotion' is a deadly poison, causing huge harm to one's body, mind, and spirit, and is a great stain. Moreover, having emotion inevitably makes one a target for us demons to control; this is something most people do not know. I ask, how many people in a country do not talk about ? From presidents and prime ministers down to street sweepers, there is no one without 'emotion' in their hearts. It seems that 'emotion' is a very important part of the power that keeps people alive. In our eyes, this is a very ridiculous thing, but people take it very seriously, grasping it tightly and pursuing it bitterly. Now, only by spreading the Buddhist education of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre can we change people's wrong concepts and views, allowing everyone to stop creating karma and stop letting themselves suffer.

Now, I have shifted from the standpoint of a demon to the mindset of a member of Namo Amituofo's salvation team, hoping that by telling these truths, I can make everyone alert. The most important thing is to look at the information on the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre's website and listen to Practitioner Su's Dharma talks; this is the most fundamental first step. I hope those who are connected by karmic affinity can start from here.

I, Mo Quan, can happily say that my demon career has finally come to an end. Although it all happened so suddenly, the result is an unexpected surprise. Now, in the Dharma-Nature Land, my children and grandchildren and I have been transformed, and we are learning what the Buddha's compassion is, chanting 'Namo Amituofo,' and not forgetting the vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in our hearts. I also hope that before we are reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, we can do a little more for the Buddha, which might also help us eliminate some of our own sins.

Well, that is all for today. Gratitude to Namo Amituofo, gratitude to Practitioner Su. Because of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the world has ushered in a ray of light.
