A Primordial Demon’s Journey from the Milky Way to the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Mo Zhu, a primordial demon from the Milky Way who has existed for six trillion trillion years. He sought Spiritual Deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, and now resides in the Western Dharma-Nature Land. This account reflects upon his long history and his profound transformation. Recorded and transcribed by the chief writer, Venerable Fa Hui, on March 16, 2026.

Mo Zhu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Zhu, and I hail from the Milky Way. I am an ancient demon who has existed for six trillion trillion years. To find myself here, at the Western Dharma-Nature Land within the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Queensland, Australia, and to be granted this interview—it is truly a remarkable turn of events. It is something I never could have imagined in all my eons of existence.

When I first arrived in the land of China, my primary intention was to visit my fellow ancient demons, the Demon Kings, and the vast crowds of demon children and grandchildren. I wanted to see how they were faring in this part of the world. Little did I know that I would encounter the Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su—an encounter that is truly difficult to encounter in millions of years.

A Rare Encounter in an Ancient Land

China is a truly rare and special place. On Earth, it is considered an ancient nation with five thousand years of history. In the Milky Way, I was a somewhat well-known ruler of a star system, but here on Earth, I encountered the Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I witnessed the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo shining brilliantly, and I saw the countless manifestations of Practitioner Su. These manifestations are capable of travelling to every province in China to perform Chao Du for countless wandering spirits and demon crowds.

It is not that the demon crowds lacked the ability to resist the manifestations of Practitioner Su. Rather, it is because every single one of his manifestations carries the Buddha-light. Furthermore, the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo illuminate the entire territory of China, shining directly upon the bodies of the demon crowds and the wandering spirits. This light possesses a devastating power against our demonic energy; it effectively neutralises the very essence of our power.

The Hidden War for Human Energy

For ordinary spirits, this is a wonderful blessing. The Buddha-light is composed of absolute, positive, and virtuous energy. It weakens the dark, negative aura that clings to these spirits and replaces it with positive energy. For the people of this world, who possess physical bodies, this is also highly beneficial. A human body is a complex vessel, home to countless beings and trillions of cells. When these cells receive positive energy, their efficiency improves, allowing people to perform better and manifest their true capabilities.

However, for us demons, this Buddha-light acts as a barrier, preventing the expansion of the Demon Realm. It provides ordinary people with the opportunity to seek Spiritual Deliverance and rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. For the Buddha and his disciples, they do not wish to see people suffer, because behind every instance of suffering lies the heavy hand of the laws of karma and cause and effect. That is the true root of helplessness and sorrow. Only through Buddhist education can these fundamental human problems be resolved. Naturally, this is something the demon crowds do not wish to see, and we have always sought to obstruct it.

The Manipulation of the Human Vessel

Under these circumstances, the positive power inherent in people cannot be fully realised. Trapped in a state of contradiction and powerlessness, they are left to be governed by the negative forces of the demon crowds. What we do on Earth is primarily to control the mindset of humanity. We ensure that people cannot act according to their own will, which allows us to plunder as we please. Most importantly, we can absorb their 'qi'—their vital energy.

In the universe, or even in the star wars between galaxies, everything boils down to the struggle for energy. When we come to Earth, is it any different? We demons directly absorb human energy so that our spirits can continue to grow and exist. Think about it—the human body is incredibly precious. In other star systems, even where life exists, it is rarely as 'full' as the human body, which possesses so many cells. Every cell contains life, and their vitality is the energy we can harvest. If we drain their life force, the cells wither or die.

The Path to Degeneration

When the number of dead cells increases, the human body begins to fall ill and degenerate. If these cells do not merely age but transform into malignant cells—those that think evil, see evil, and speak evil—they become what you call 'cancer cells.' This causes immense damage to the human body. Cancer cells radiate negative energy; to survive, they must consume vast amounts of the body's vital energy. Consequently, the person becomes increasingly emaciated, and their illnesses become impossible to control.

The more of these cells there are, the weaker the body's organs become, eventually leading to total failure. For vital organs like the heart and blood vessels, a lack of sufficient energy leads to drowsiness, a lack of focus, and even accidents. This has profound consequences, from the individual level to the family, and eventually to the survival and competitiveness of the entire nation and society.

The Destruction of Ethics and Morality

If demons intervene during such times, we only accelerate the body's existence within this negative energy. We cause the situation to deteriorate further. The human energy is drained by us, and the negative energy we radiate causes the body to decay rapidly until it can no longer support life. After death, the soul leaves the body. Earthly people believe in the six realms of rebirth, and it is indeed true. Many spirits are scattered throughout space, some becoming lonely wandering spirits.

China is a unique country; it has its own sovereignty and a spiritual axis. In the past, ethics and morality were the core pillars supporting this nation. Later, when the demon crowds realised that these ethics and morals were the purity and wisdom left behind by the ancestors—making it difficult for us to survive—we began to destroy them. We made it difficult for ethics and morality to persist in people's hearts. This destructive force had to be applied through high-level pressure. The internal strife in modern China, the mutual harm between people, and the burning of ancestral classics—these acts were often performed by demons possessing human bodies. Because we are spirits, we must attach ourselves to a human body to carry out our desires, which is to harm humanity. Otherwise, such behaviour would never have been permitted under the traditional Chinese education that valued ethics.

The Reality of Spiritual Attachment

Once an entire nation, from small regions to large, falls into this state, it is like a great catastrophe. Every day, the demon crowds cheer from within human bodies because people's anger, greed, crying, slaughter, and mutual destruction are exactly what we love to see. In a situation where such kindness and character have been lost, why does the country still survive? The reason is that we lead the nation with demon nature, guiding it toward demonic development, while simultaneously offering people the pursuit of desire, packaging the nation's 'progress' with material wealth and power.

Through our efforts, Buddhist education and Chao Du activities were eventually weakened or even rejected. Only Buddhas and Bodhisattvas have the power to deliver the deceased and bring them peace. Once Buddhist education is weakened, people's learning, their understanding of the Dharma, and their participation in Dharma assemblies diminish. The soothing of the soul and the stability of the human heart are greatly reduced. In such a state, how can a soul develop properly? Especially after death, when the soul leaves the body, there is no guidance toward the good paths. If one has committed many evils in life, one is certain to suffer retribution in hell. That is the destination for evil spirits. Many spirits float in every corner of China. Because they exist in a different space, people cannot see them, but the spirits can feel the presence of the human body. Of course, ghosts do not just attach themselves to anyone unless there is a karmic connection. But once a link is formed, the magnetic field of these restless spirits penetrates and interferes with a person's mental and physical health. This makes it difficult for people to concentrate, leads them to act in ways they normally wouldn't, and causes their health to decline. This is the effect of being possessed by spirits. This phenomenon is currently widespread in China, yet people are unaware of it. Many are layered with attachments, their bodies crushed and sick, feeling utterly helpless without knowing they are possessed by demons or ghosts.

A New Goal: Rebirth in the Western Pure Land

Practitioner Su mentioned during his Dharma talks: 'The human body is a place to hide ghosts; it is a place for ghosts to stay.' This statement truly pierces through a truth that has been unknown for thousands of years. Indeed, these spirits influence the functions of the heart. How can we change this situation? That is exactly what Practitioner Su is doing. All kinds of good energy—kindness and compassion—cannot possibly be radiated by us demons; it is the positive energy radiated by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Among the countless manifestations of Practitioner Su, each one carries positive energy and light, capable of elevating the quality of one's spirit. Once the spiritual quality is elevated, one naturally knows how to proceed.

Practitioner Su is truly a person of clear vision and Wisdom. He knows that people's suffering stems from the fact that the spirits in China are too miserable, having not received Chao Du. This makes people feel uneasy, and many people's true self is controlled and locked away by demons, unable to be the master. When Practitioner Su brought the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo to shine upon the demon palaces, the palaces instantly disintegrated and vanished into nothingness. All of this left us feeling absolutely terrified.

I come from the Milky Way. A few years ago, I heard of a figure who possessed Buddha-light capable of subduing demons. For us, was this even possible? How could human power be greater than that of demons? So, I wanted to come and see for myself. I knew that if people were to live well and not be controlled by demons, there must be a more powerful force to subdue us, or even to take us out of the Earth. The current situation is exactly that: Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su have subdued the demons controlling China.

Practitioner Su's Divine Foot and his countless manifestations can reach the darkest spaces of the Demon Realm. Even those hidden spaces we had not yet discovered were illuminated and opened by the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. They sent the old and ancient demons into the Western Dharma-Nature Land at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. That is how I was brought in as well.

Therefore, Practitioner Su, having received the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo and possessing his own infinite manifestations, can shine into every corner of every province. Wherever there are beings and demons, they can receive Chao Du. Demons have strong personalities; without a tough character, one cannot survive in the Demon Realm. But when facing the Buddha-light, no matter how strong your demon nature is, it cannot function, because the power of this light can penetrate and soften it.

The more demons are subdued, the easier it is for the human heart to stabilise, and the less opportunity there is for the human body to be controlled by demons. However, there is one fundamental requirement: the human heart must thoroughly turn toward the good—thinking good, seeing good, speaking good, and doing good. One must cherish good thoughts and perform good deeds. Otherwise, as soon as people think evil, see evil, speak evil, or do evil, we demons can still attach ourselves to them, causing changes in their body, mind, and spirit, making them even worse. This is an indisputable fact, and it is the law of karma.

Even for an ancient demon like me, who has existed for six trillion trillion years, after coming to the Western Dharma-Nature Land and listening to the teachings for these few days, my demon nature has faded significantly. Furthermore, listening to Practitioner Su's Dharma talks and witnessing the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies delivering demonic beings—seeing them being sent into the Western Dharma-Nature Land like waves of the ocean—is something hard to believe, yet it is a fact I have seen with my own eyes.

Now, having heard the Dharma, I know that demonic beings also have a true self, and we too can chant the Buddha's name and make vows to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This has become my new goal. I also hope that all the demonic beings who have been guided by the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su's Buddha-light, and sent into the Western Dharma-Nature Land, can all settle well upon their lotus seats. May you all accept the teachings of the True Teachings, transform your character, and find a good destination—that is, to chant the Buddha's name, make vows, and enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. From now on, there is no need to live the dark days of the Demon Realm; instead, we move toward the light. Mo Zhu offers his blessings to you all.
