Steve Jobs: A Call to Save the World
The Eighteenth Letter from the Spirit of Steve Jobs
Recorded at Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Australia

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects his insights on modern technology, the human condition, and the path to spiritual liberation. It was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on August 29, 2017.
Steve Jobs speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs. Boldness—that is the defining trait of a successful person. We hear this word tossed around constantly in the business world, or when people talk about being a 'big boss' or a leader. But let me tell you, no one has ever used the word 'boldness' in the context of saving the world. Why? Because no one truly believes that this world is in need of saving, or perhaps they simply do not feel that they have a role to play in such a mission. Most people choose to stand on the sidelines, minding their own business, or 'sweeping the snow from their own doorstep' while ignoring the rest of the world.
Even if someone has a fleeting thought about making a real difference, it is quickly crushed by the weight of reality. They are labelled a 'freak' or an idealist, and that tiny, flickering light of goodness within them is extinguished, smothered by the pressures of modern society. We live in an era of liberalism, but we have become increasingly self-absorbed. I wonder, do you agree with me?"
The True Meaning of Saving the World
"The real meaning of saving the world lies in leading all of humanity toward progress—not just technological or cultural advancement, but progress of the heart. We look at humanity and think we are so advanced, yet our hearts are often wild and untamed. We look at 'primitive' people and think they are savage, but their hearts are often far more pure than ours. Am I wrong? This generation is in desperate need of salvation, or we are all going to fall apart. This may well be the final letter I, Steve Jobs, ever write. I feel compelled to speak out about the problems that our society and all of humanity are currently facing.
First, I must emphasise the issue of our children. They must not be contaminated by electronic products. Parents, you must take this seriously. If you do not, your children will become 'electronic zombies.' Everything about these devices stunts the development of their natural instincts; in a very real sense, you are killing them. Second, to everyone from the youth to the elderly who are addicted to their mobile phones: please, stop. You are losing yourselves. You are becoming so absorbed in these devices that you are essentially entering them, becoming mere components, or turning into virtual characters in a game. Many people have already reached this state, but because you do not know the truth, you cannot see it. Recently, Practitioner Su from the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre visited the Apple headquarters. She discovered that the electronic components within these devices are actually filled with the spirits of people who were addicted to them. The number is so vast it is impossible to calculate. Does that not terrify you? If it does, then stop your obsession with mobile phones and electronic gadgets immediately. If you feel the need to use them every single second of the day, you are already poisoned. You must find a way to resolve this addiction, or it will be impossible to save you."
The Karmic Debt of Technology
"Third, I call upon the electronic companies that manufacture these phones to face the karmic consequences of their actions. We have disrupted the balance of human existence. The sins created are so immense that even if you were to become a single screw in a mobile phone for thousands or tens of thousands of years, you would still not be able to repay the debt. Is this the future you wanted for your life? If not, please, stop and pivot. With your brilliant minds, you should be able to figure out how to transform your industry to help save everyone from this serious addiction to electronic products.
Everything I have expressed here is the truth. If the American people, or people across the globe, do not believe me, then I truly pity you, because you are currently standing in line to become electronic components yourselves. These messages are being transmitted through the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. They saved me, and they have saved many others who had been trapped as electronic components, helping them return to human form. This place is developing something far more advanced than technology: the human body and its natural, innate instincts. Even though I am 'dead,' they are still able to communicate with me and receive the messages I am speaking. The development here is very simple: as long as you have no afflictions, as long as you have a heart of pure goodness, as long as you believe in the Buddha, and as long as you have a heart that wants to save the world, you can easily succeed in this development. If you can meet these conditions, I guarantee you that your success rate is one hundred per cent."
The Path of No Sickness and No Death
"Once you succeed, you can communicate with all things in the universe. This ability is what we call 'natural.' Once you possess these abilities, they are meant to be used to help others. Every illness a person suffers has its own causes and consequences, rooted in the laws of and cause and effect. What you created in the past manifests in your own body today. If you caused harm in the past, it is only natural that you suffer a serious illness in this life. It is the law of karma! The abilities cultivated here can resolve your illness; you only need to communicate with and resolve the conflicts with the spirits of those you harmed in the past—those who are now following you as . Once you resolve these grievances, the illness disappears. This is what we promote here: the state of 'no sickness.'
Furthermore, there is the state of 'no death.' Am I, Steve Jobs, not 'dead'? Yet here I am, speaking to you from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss! You can just come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss just like me! But while it sounds simple, it is not easy to do. It requires one condition: chanting the Buddha's name. Just chant 'Namo Amituofo' once. This is the secret code. Namo Amituofo, the Master of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, will personally come to receive you. He will give you the greatest honour by coming to lead you himself. All you have to do is chant that one phrase.
I have spoken in a relaxed manner, and I apologise if I have been disrespectful to Namo Amituofo. But we Americans enjoy this kind of humorous, direct way of speaking; it is the only way people will listen and understand. As this letter draws to a close, I will reveal one more 'skillful means': come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia! It can resolve all the problems I have mentioned above. Come and learn these skills! Come and save the world! Americans can truly become great heroes. It all depends on whether you are willing to trust me just this once."
Steve Jobs
Namo Amituofo."
