The Anatomy of Attachment: A Demon's Perspective
An Interview with the Ancient Demon Mo Yiting
Recorded at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, Australia
This is a record of an interview with Mo Yiting, an ancient demon with a lifespan of 10.1 billion trillion years, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his observations of the human body and the spiritual realms. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on May 26, 2025.
Mo Yiting speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Yiting, representing the ancient demons of the Realm. I am currently at the Western Dharma-Nature Land of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, to accept this interview. The primary focus of our discussion today is the structure of the human body and the spiritual beings residing within it—including demon crowds, , and attached spirits—and how they influence the human form.
A Long Slumber and a Sudden
Before I dive into the details, let me introduce myself. I am an ancient demon of the Dharma Realm. I have spent 10.1 billion trillion years in the Dharma Realm—a truly staggering amount of time. Initially, I led a group of demons, but later I retired to the background to provide guidance, eventually entering a state of deep meditative concentration. I remained in that state for roughly 4.1 billion trillion years. I had no idea so much time had passed until I finally woke up. It was only after being bathed in the Buddha-light of Namo Amituofo and the Twelve Lights of Practitioner Su that I regained and was brought into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. The change was absolutely dramatic and incredibly swift. Previous ancient demons interviewed here have already touched upon this process, so I will not repeat it; instead, I will focus on what I have observed since my arrival.
The Human Body as a Revolving Door
Since entering the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I have had the opportunity to observe the structure of the human body. In the Dharma Realm, such a structure does not exist, as humans cannot survive in the void of the Dharma Realm; humans only exist on Earth. Over these past few days, I have studied the human body and discovered something quite fascinating and unique. Every single pore on the human body acts like a gateway—a door that allows spirits inside to come out and spirits outside to enter. It is a place where the doors are wide open. No wonder that at the Buddhist Centre, every space we see on Earth is densely packed with beings! The interior of the human body is exactly the same; it is filled with countless spaces and an immense number of spirits, including karmic creditors and demon crowds. They are all there, representing every era of existence. I have seen it with my own eyes—spirits from many past lives, each living out their own days within these various spaces.
This indicates that the true self must have formed deep karmic affinities with these beings in past lives. These internal spaces represent the relationships the true self had in the past; that is the only reason they can appear within a human body. And what is the purpose of these spaces? They are incredibly significant! The beings inside are merely one of the many spirits that have existed within our . Therefore, the age of your Alaya consciousness determines how long these spaces have existed within you. The Buddha’s teachings tell us that spiritual life is without beginning or end, which means it is impossible to say exactly how long the true self has existed. When I look at the records within the Alaya consciousness, I cannot see an end. It is incredibly vast and completely full. This is not just true for one person; it is the case for almost every single human being.
The Composition of the True Self
Where does the Alaya consciousness reside? It resides within the true self, so we can also see where the true self is. The true self is a spirit. Every space within appears in the memory of the Alaya consciousness, which means the true self has been present in all those spaces. For instance, when a person is reborn, it is the true self that goes to be reborn. When a person dies, the true self is the last to leave. The true self is like an actor performing in one play after another, taking on different roles in different plots.
How is the true self composed? Let me tell you: since the Alaya consciousness forms the true self, and the Alaya consciousness records everything from all our many lives, it means the true self is composed of a collection of beings. The true self is made up of countless memories and past beings. That is the origin of the true self.
Furthermore, how is the physical body formed? The body consists of many cells and spirits from the spiritual realms. These spirits exist in the spaces within the body. They come from the memories of the Alaya consciousness, as well as from the physical world—animals, insects, flowers, trees, and even beings from other planets or Dharma Realms. Some have suffered torture in the hells, while others have been cats, dogs, pigs, ducks, cows, or sheep in the animal realm.
The Echoes of Past Lives
At that time, the companions of the true self when it was an animal are still on the body! They are in their own spaces. The space where you were once a dog or a cat still exists within you. That means you still carry your friends and family from those lives—the cats, dogs, pigs, chickens, ducks, fish, shrimp, and crabs—I have seen them all. The friends and family from the spaces of every past life still exist within those spaces. You might even carry the habits of being a cat, dog, pig, chicken, duck, fish, shrimp, or crab in this very lifetime. You might have a special fondness for, or a deep hatred or fear of, a certain animal, insect, or crawling creature. Perhaps you were attacked or bullied by them in the past, leading to fear, hatred, or anger. This is what I have seen in the Alaya consciousness and the spaces of human beings. Every one of them has an Alaya consciousness and a heart; they just lack a body and remain as spirits. The Alaya consciousness is their true self. Just like humans, one body has one true self.
Once the true self enters the body, it allows the body to begin functioning and growing. Generally speaking, the true self enters the womb during gestation. I can also see that some of these spirits in the spaces you carry enter the womb along with your true self. Besides their relationship with the true self, these spirits are also related to the of the father and mother who provided the body; this is called Collective Karma.
The Burden of Shared Karma
Sometimes, certain behaviours, physical illnesses, or the conditions of aging and sickness are caused by spirits related to your parents, or even by Collective Karma shared with your siblings. When these spirits appear on your body, it means you are bearing the karmic burden of your parents or siblings. These spirits will lean to one side; those leaning toward you exist in your body, while those leaning toward your parents or siblings naturally attach themselves to them, existing in the spaces within their bodies. This is the natural principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, is it not? No one needs to assign this; it happens naturally.
So, how can one avoid the influence of these spirits? It depends on your thoughts in this lifetime. If your thoughts in this lifetime relate to the densely packed spirits within you—those from every era—they will be stirred and wake up. Or, if you have harmed them with such thoughts in the past, making them karmic creditors or attached spirits, they will awaken. Once awakened, their goal is to seek revenge, collect debts, or repay kindness. The result must be borne by the physical body of the true self. The manifestation of this is aging, sickness, and eventually, when the time comes, the moment to say goodbye and leave this world.
The conditions of birth, aging, sickness, and death operate within the body of this lifetime. Therefore, it is said that one needs a physical body to practise. Only through the tempering of karma and the tests of birth, aging, sickness, and death can one achieve the Buddha’s path, Awakening, and realise one's true nature to become a Buddha.
The Invisible Puppet Masters
How do karmic creditors and demon crowds control the human body? If the events you encounter or the reactions your body produces are related to these spirits, the karmic creditors will naturally manifest, and the relevant demon crowds will also appear. It is just like when they hear a voice calling them; they will always come out to take a look. Once they discover that their enemy has appeared, they will naturally cause some harm to the body.
These processes and contents can be recorded using certain methods. Although there are no words or images, one can use mental notes, the power of Wisdom, or if the fourfold assembly can also see, they can record or write it down. These are all ways to understand how the karmic creditors or demon crowds within the body affect it. It lets people understand that the relationship between their body and their spirit is so profound. This cannot be detected by medical instruments. This spiritual part is a blind spot for medicine. If medicine could detect it, that would be truly extraordinary.
I saw a scene where the body was being used by other spirits, while the true self was crying and shouting in a space nearby, unable to be the master. This is a very common scene. The true self is like someone encountering the pain of separation by death, bidding farewell to the world. It turns out that the scene of his past death was exactly like this; the true self was trapped in this space, weeping as he felt the pain of death. So, I was like someone watching a play, watching that scene of a past life in the Alaya consciousness—it is called the 'funeral play'.
The Alaya consciousness truly records everything, even the state of the true self at the moment of death. Because the true self appears in this space, it is only natural that the words spoken or actions taken by the true self are exactly as they were at that time.
The Protection of the Right Way
How can one prevent the body from being taken over by karmic creditors, attached spirits, and demon crowds? One must understand the laws of karma and cause and effect, and abide by the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is a protective force that shields the spirit, allowing it to function within. This does not rely on power given by anyone else, but is a method taught to everyone in the Pure Land Dharma Gate. What is the benefit of this? Only when you see the truth clearly and understand the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, will you be willing to let go and see through the illusion.
If you cannot see through it, cannot let go, or only have a superficial understanding of the truth—knowing one part but not the other—it is best to listen. It is best to listen to the words of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su. After all, they are those who have already walked the path and are enlightened. Listening can prevent you from making mistakes, creating negative karma, and suffering.
The Absence of the True Self
Let me, Mo Yiting, introduce to you again the conditions of the human body I have observed, and how the spirits within the spiritual realms operate this human body. It turns out that humans truly cannot be the master. There is only one true self in the body, but I see people talking, eating, or dozing off and becoming drowsy while listening to sutras, entering spaces—and the true self is not there at all. So, where did the true self go? The true self has long been locked away. If the true self were present, these things would not exist. We can be certain of this. The only time the true self seems to be present is during those few minutes on Thursdays when Practitioner Su invites everyone’s three hun souls and seven po souls back. Some can maintain this for a bit longer. At these times, you can see the true self, perhaps running very earnestly and chanting "Namo Amituofo". Practitioner Su is there on the vehicle, reminding everyone to chant: "Everyone must chant the Buddha’s name. Are the flowers and grass chanting? Is the earth chanting?" Those whose true self is still present can follow along and chant together. Those whose true self is absent are just looking around, wanting to finish running quickly, or walking without any Buddha-name in their hearts.
Furthermore, when listening to the sutras, I see that almost no one is being led by their true self. It is the attached spirits within the body who are in charge, or it is the karmic creditors or demon crowds who are the masters. Some are entering spaces to play; others are being beaten by spirits in those spaces, as if they are receiving the same treatment they once inflicted on others. We in the Dharma-Nature Land see it all, but we cannot save them. Sometimes we send out thought power to tell these spirits: "Please show some mercy; after all, this person has also done many good deeds." Some spirits don't want to listen to you at all because they have no intention of hearing anything good or helpful for this person; others might listen to a few words. But for the demon crowds who lead people's spirits into spaces, since an ancient demon has spoken, some will stop. We can control the demon crowds to some extent, but if it is the work of a person's karmic creditors, persuasion is ineffective. It seems that this deep-seated hatred cannot be resolved by a few words from us ancient demons. At such times, we have to rely on Practitioner Su.
The Energy Drain
I have discovered that spirits are very afraid of Practitioner Su. When Practitioner Su roars or speaks angrily to the spirits, they quickly jump away and spare the person for the time being; but if Practitioner Su looks elsewhere, the spirits appear again immediately. This is a situation that repeats itself every night during the two hours of listening to the sutras. Can you say that a person's true self is in control? It is impossible to be in control. This is truly a helpless situation, because how can it be that almost everyone is in this state?
How do karmic creditors or demon crowds absorb energy from the human body? Let me tell you, every action taken by a karmic creditor or demon crowd requires energy. If a person does not eat and has no strength in their body, they cannot speak or do anything, and their mind is foggy—it is the same as being unable to execute anything properly. Karmic creditors and demon crowds control a person's body and thoughts. People generally assume that their thoughts are their own, but in reality, they are the thoughts of the spirits. Thinking consumes energy, doing things consumes energy, and even eating consumes energy. However, because the food consumed can be converted into energy, and some things cancel each other out, you still need enough energy for the spirits within you to use. Otherwise, they will drain the energy originally stored in your body. At this point, the cells will easily become fatigued and exhausted, or the eyes will close without the true self being able to control them. If the cells do not have the energy to execute tasks, they have no choice but to protect themselves, leading to these situations. Reducing energy consumption manifests as the person appearing weak or fatigued. At this point, you know that you are not the one in control; it is certainly not you who is the master. As I watch, not a single person who becomes drowsy and enters a space is being controlled by their own true self, nor have I seen a body that is weak, sick, or aging being controlled by its own true self. None of them are controlled by their own true self; that is my conclusion.
The Control of Cells
But how do these demon crowds and karmic creditors control the human body? The conclusion is that they control the cells. Controlling the cells is controlling the human body because the human body is composed of cells. Every action needs to be executed by cells, and how they are executed depends on which spirits are controlling these cells—telling the cells how to act, and the cells act accordingly. The cells themselves have their own spaces, and there are many spirits within those spaces. These spirits are the karmic creditors and demon crowds.
How do demon crowds enter the body? We can see that when mental fluctuations radiate heart-waves, and these heart-waves radiate outside the body, naturally, if these fluctuations are received by demon crowds with similar fluctuations or resonance, the demon crowds will very naturally follow these heart-waves into the body. This sounds like the plot of a storybook or comic book, but it is the absolute truth.
In fact, once spirits enter the body, it is not easy for them to leave. Because they have finally found a place to rest, if there is enough space or energy inside for them to use, why would they leave such a good place? It is just like if humans had a place where they were well-fed, well-clothed, and well-housed—would you want to leave? You wouldn't, would you? Unless it is someone with great Wisdom and great who wants to save beings, and must first leave the place that suits their own desires to achieve themselves before they can save others. That is a different matter. Otherwise, with a normal character, how could they possibly leave this place? Life outside is so bitter!
Purification Through Buddhist Education
How can one avoid having the body used by karmic creditors, attached spirits, and demon crowds? It seems that this can only be addressed from the very basics. You must start from childhood, from when they are young, while they can still be the master, or even from the heart and mind before they are born and polluted—a clean, pure heart and body. This is when you must start giving them Buddhist education. Buddhist education is pure and good; it teaches people to be good, to be kind, to chant "Namo Amituofo", and teaches people not to be selfish. Only such education can cultivate a Body-Mind-Spirit that is compassionate and wise. This spirituality includes not only your own true self but also the spirits of the many cells in your body, as well as the spirits of the demon crowds. All of this can be purified through Buddhist education. Then things become easy to handle. That is to say, the spirits, who were originally filled with resentment and hatred, after being calmed by Buddhist education and the deliverance of the , can easily be invited out of the body, allowing them to enter the Dharma-Nature Land, thus concluding this karmic debt.
But the body is composed of many karmic forces, and there is certainly not just one spirit; there are countless karmic creditors. Therefore, Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su tirelessly invite the spirits again and again, inviting them to the Western Dharma-Nature Land. This is truly a great blessing, allowing everyone to breathe a sigh of relief and giving the spirits within them a chance to go to a good place—the Western Dharma-Nature Land—where they are saved. This role and stance can help spirits stop following your body and instead follow the Buddha-light. Yes, we have seen such situations. These spirits are those who usually listen to the sutras and understand some of the principles of the Buddha’s teachings. Just like in the human world, where many people like to listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, after listening to the sutras and having the masters explain them, their hearts yearn for it, and the spirits want to follow Namo Amituofo.
The Wisdom of Letting Go
Modern people may not necessarily see the benefits of others, but they will always remember the harm others have caused them; this is pollution. If one can open one's mind-capacity and use compassion, Wisdom, and tolerance to resolve these harms, that person must be someone who knows how to self-reflect, self-improve, and self-heal their Body-Mind-Spirit. Mo Yiting also hopes that all people and spirits at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, and outside the temple, can receive the benefits of the Dharma from Namo Amituofo at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.
Practitioner Su speaks every day and reminds people to pay attention to this and that, not to do this or that, all in the hope that everyone will realise their true nature soon. Everyone must understand and appreciate how much effort Practitioner Su puts into leading everyone. In fact, when encountering situations, Practitioner Su tells everyone what to do in a very short time or on the spot, without violating the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is truly not easy!
How to avoid having the body used by karmic creditors, attached spirits, and demon crowds is extremely important. If you can do this, the body can be used by yourself. Therefore, getting to the root of the matter, it is about managing your heart, managing your mouth, managing your thoughts, and managing your body. Since karmic creditors have a grudge against you, of course, if you have bad thoughts, they can come to seek revenge. Demon crowds have very strong personalities, so if you have a strong personality, the demon crowds are just happy to find someone with the same personality. And since demon crowds need energy, they happen to enter this person's body—not only do they have energy, but they can also live comfortably because this person's personality is the same as theirs. Afterwards, the true self is also locked up. So who is the master? The demon crowds are the masters!
The Consequences of Karma
This body was painstakingly managed by the true self, but now it is locked up and cannot be used. This just depends on the fate of the body—to see which spirit takes it away. If it is controlled by a good spirit, the body still maintains good functions; if it is controlled by a spirit with whom you have a bad karmic affinity, they will use your body to do things that harm heaven and reason, causing your true self to suffer and receive retribution. Such situations are too numerous to mention; there are just too many. This is also a situation where one cannot be the master, right? The Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way must be followed by everyone, otherwise, there is only suffering. Many demon crowds do not know that the facts are like this; they act or use this controlled body according to their own personalities, and afterwards, they must receive the sanctions of cause and effect. This is a point that I, Mo Yiting, have felt very deeply during these days.
Buddhist education clearly points out everywhere, hoping that people can know how to act so as not to violate the laws of karma and cause and effect, the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This is also teaching the demon crowds and spirits. Presumably, after the settling of these days, and the interviews with many ancient demons, each coming from different Dharma Realms, they have brought different personalities to speak about their experiences and what they have seen and heard, hoping it will be helpful to everyone.
The Lion’s Roar
Many of the mental cultivation skills of the Buddha’s teachings are learned from listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma. You can also see Practitioner Su’s teaching by example and teaching by words, which is extremely important. Fourfold assembly, you should cherish this very much, because at present, it seems there is no second person who has such attainments as Practitioner Su.
If the education of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way is spread, the spirits and demon crowds who hear it will have , because they will know what not to do and how to act so as not to be sucked away by the laws of karma and cause and effect. This is indeed a bit difficult for demon crowds because demon crowds are often not so easy to talk to. It is rare for them to do whatever you say, unless they are truly convinced by you. So, if you say something and I do it, or through Practitioner Su—those who have heard and seen Practitioner Su are also willing to do as Practitioner Su says, and they can have the opportunity to change their personalities.
The spirits filling the body all have hearts; they are all spirits. They can listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, and can know what the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way are. If they listen, and act according to these words, there will certainly be benefits. That is to say, here, with Practitioner Su’s mediation, one can also fulfill the wishes of the spirits. This is truly inconceivable. You want compensation? Fine, fifty taels of gold for you! Wow, the bright, shining gold is right before your eyes. Which demon or spirit can say no? Of course, it is good, so they rush out of the body to the Western Dharma-Nature Land to collect the gold. This trick is too brilliant! I don't see any other practitioners who can manifest gold, do you? Of course, Namo Amituofo has the ability; the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is paved with gold. It seems Practitioner Su has also learned this ultimate trick from Namo Amituofo. If you want a hundred taels of gold, no problem; a box of a hundred taels of white gold is now before the spirits, but they have to go to the Western Dharma-Nature Land to collect it. Now, they will fly to the Western Dharma-Nature Land even if they have to fly. This resolves the grievance between you and the spirits; this is the benefit of the Dharma Body.
The Path to Buddhahood
It seems that when people have a body, they have the opportunity to obtain the Dharma Body and can learn this trick from Practitioner Su. At this time, with Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su present, it is possible to learn the spiritual power of Namo Amituofo. And there are so many spirits to save, immeasurable and boundless spirits to save. Any spirit can allow you to exercise the power of the Dharma Body and save them. Saving them means sending them to the Dharma-Nature Land, or sending them into the golden light of Namo Amituofo, and handing them over to Namo Amituofo. This is truly too convenient and too good! Accumulating merit and virtue this way is fast!
We demon crowds cherish such opportunities very much because we have done too many evil deeds and desperately need to wash away these sins again and again. In the Western Dharma-Nature Land, Namo Amituofo is too compassionate, giving us full Buddha-light. Being bathed in Buddha-light allows us to forget these sins and live our lives well. Especially that sentence from Practitioner Su: "No past, no future, only the Buddha-name chanted to the end in the present moment." This simply saved us ancient demons, because the longer we live, the more bad things we do. Even if it is not a bad thing, there is the thought of doing bad. This also requires bearing the laws of karma and cause and effect; it is definitely a bad thing, not a good thing.
The Buddha’s teachings tell us: every thought and intention is a sin. The thoughts and intentions of demon crowds are even more so. The thoughts and intentions of karmic creditors are also like this. The thoughts and intentions of karmic creditors are all sins, too. Where is that sin used? It is used to retaliate against this body. Who suffers the loss? The human body suffers the loss. If this grudge cannot be repaid in this lifetime, I will come to repay it when you are a human in the next life. That is still in time, right? At most, that is it; the revenge is just a little late. If you are always in a state of seeing bad, thinking bad, doing bad, and saying bad, the karmic creditors waiting for revenge will be numerous, and there will be no end. Because we owed too much in past lives and accumulated too many karmic debts, people are waiting to collect them. On the bodies of several people, I have seen karmic creditors lining up waiting to collect debts. This means the body is already too full and crowded to hold them. If it could hold them, they would definitely squeeze in. Squeezing in is very hard; you can't even breathe. How can you repay so many spirits?
The Wisdom of Practitioner Su
Therefore, Practitioner Su is very high-level. He discovered a good method. There is a famous saying in the Buddha’s gate: "Offer this deep heart to the dust-motes of the world." This is very correct and very good. And what Practitioner Su says is even more thorough: I offer my spirit and my body to the spirits, and hand them over to Namo Amituofo to use. Wow! This is truly too powerful! If you hand your body over to Namo Amituofo to use, what else do you have to worry about? Namo Amituofo’s Buddha-light shines on you, and every spirit in your body is obedient because you believe in the Buddha and are willing to hand your body over to Namo Amituofo, inviting Namo Amituofo to manage the spirits in your body. Who would not be obedient? They must be obedient. So you can do many things to help spirits, and at the same time, eliminate the sins in your body. The spirits in your body will not cause you trouble either. Isn't this killing many birds with one stone? Such a good thing, such an idea, comes from Practitioner Su; it is very wise. From the perspective of an ancient demon, this is the case.
So, you are in such a wise environment, and I hope you will also be a wise person, with a wise body and a wise true self. Do not let your spirits suffer. The karmic creditors in your body can also exercise your Wisdom, do not let yourself suffer, and everyone can live in peace, coexisting in the body, being able to follow Namo Amituofo to save beings, and being able to enter the Western Dharma-Nature Land and return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss soon. That would be too good! This is also the purpose of our interview. Saying these things out loud is to make you vigilant, so you can know what is the best thing to do.
Actually, to be honest, the Buddha’s teachings are truly the technology of technologies. It can help the human body play the role of the technology of technologies, and of course, it also helps the karmic creditors, demon crowds, or attached spirits within the body. If you can listen to the Buddha’s words, change your heart, change your thoughts, and change your personality, then you are also a Buddha. Because you know you want to think good, speak good, do good, and have good thoughts, if you can do this, you are also very remarkable. You will no longer create negative karma and can live a peaceful and happy life. How many spirits envy this! But this has already become the past; we must live in the present. After the interview, I am going to chant the Buddha’s name. I have discovered that this Buddha-name is truly too useful.
I believe that what I, Mo Yiting, said today will be organised so that my juniors can also hear it. This spirit of mine, which has existed for 10.1 billion trillion years, is handed over to Namo Amituofo. Everything is handed over to Namo Amituofo. This is a foolproof thing. We demon crowds cherish the Buddha very much. It seems we cherish the Buddha even more than humans do. Humans must catch up! Perhaps by then, we will be the ones to achieve Buddhahood in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss first!
The Lion’s Roar and the Truth
Next is what I witnessed with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. Practitioner Su’s Lion’s Roar is truly earth-shattering, because it is not just the spirits in your body that hear and see it; even we ancient demons and primordial demons in the Dharma-Nature Land have heard and seen it! Every time we finish listening to Practitioner Su’s Lion’s Roar, everyone cannot help but smile. This is truly the speech of someone with true attainment, prescribing the right medicine. People don't understand, but the karmic creditors hear it clearly.
Every time we chant the Buddha-name during the , I hear Practitioner Su roar: "Don't close your eyes! If you close your eyes, how can the spirits come out!" Those spirits who cannot come out clap and say: "Practitioner Su, you are right; we can't get out." Practitioner Su responds: "Ah, I know." Practitioner Su knows it clearly. Those spirits who make him close his eyes, hearing Practitioner Su say this, pull the eyelids down even harder. Then Practitioner Su knocks on the table and says: "These spirits, really!" And then says again: "Don't close your eyes! Don't you understand? The spirits can't come out." Until the spirits who pull the eyelids down say: "Forget it, I don't want to hold on anymore." And then they let go.
If you can open your eyes, then congratulations to you, because the spirits in your eyes and on your body all fly out. If some spirits don't appreciate it, they won't come out even if you open your eyes wide. However, most spirits, seeing the Buddha-light, almost all appreciate it and come out quickly. The Buddha-light is so warm and comfortable, and can relieve the worries and suffering in their hearts.
On the contrary, the person himself is still muttering in his heart: "Why say that about me? Why scold me like that? Why roar so loudly? There are so many people at the Dharma assembly, and you still have to point out my name." The person whose name was pointed out is really muttering in his heart, or thinking: "You describe me as so bad, am I that bad?" Alas, the more you think this way, the more you see the spirits beside you all clapping and saying: "You are just that bad!" Of course, perhaps you are not that bad in this lifetime, but you were bad to the bone in past lives. This is also something only Practitioner Su can see; others cannot see it, because you are also gentle and elegant in this lifetime, and even polite, but it is true that you have a personality. Everyone can feel that personality. Just this one personality can attract how many karmic creditors to manifest.
Once these karmic creditors manifest, your personality will definitely become stronger and stronger, because they will make your personality, which was originally one part manifest, also manifest. They will make one plus one equal two, making the two-part personality even more obvious. Some spirits are not just like this; they might add another ten parts of personality to you. Wow! This personality of yours is truly extraordinary. You originally didn't have this intention, so how could the words you speak and the things you do become like this? Even you feel strange. It shouldn't have reached this degree, right? Where is the difference? It is the spirits. The spirits also take the opportunity to add a stroke or two, one part or two parts, at this time, and it becomes extraordinary.
The Burden of Leadership
What is the result of this? When your personality manifests, how many people have you offended? If your personality affects one person, targeting a certain person, then that is just the relationship between the two of you. If the personality you manifest affects not just your relationship with him, but many, many spirits or people, or believers, then that is extraordinary. The karma you carry is heavy!
Especially those in high positions, you must be more careful about your thoughts and intentions. How many spirits are listening, and how many people are listening! People are sometimes blindly superstitious, not understanding and unable to distinguish. "Maybe what he says is right, so let's listen!" Originally, their own right knowledge and right thoughts were also covered up, and they could not see the truth of the facts. At this time, this leader himself carries the sins of many people. This is not a small matter!
Especially the fourfold assembly of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre that I see now, you may have the opportunity to lecture on the sutras and teach the Dharma in the future. At this time, you must be very careful. Never fall into personal views. Everything should be based on the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, or everything should follow the words of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, or Practitioner Su. Only then is it appropriate. Another method is to realise your own true nature. After realising your true nature, your vision will open, your hearing will be far, and your Six Roots—eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind—will all open. You can use your root nature to judge. The so-called root nature is the true self.
Because I have seen Practitioner Su’s demonstration, I have also understood something about the true self. Because I have not realised my true nature, I believe that there will be such a day. If I continue to listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma, continue to chant the Buddha’s name, and participate in the Dharma assembly in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, there will definitely be a day when I realise my true nature. Actually, many demon crowds are very smart and are all top-notch, but they have gone astray. No one taught them, and they did not meet Buddha or Bodhisattvas, ancestral masters, or great mentors like Practitioner Su who could teach them, and whom they could listen to.
To be honest, there are really not many practitioners who can make demon crowds truly convinced. I, an ancient demon of 10.1 billion trillion years, have met Practitioner Su, a practitioner in the human world who can make an ancient demon truly convinced. The great mentor behind him is Namo Amituofo, which makes us admire him even more. Namo Amituofo has always been the great mentor we respect and admire. As early as when I was a little demon, before I became a demon, in that lifetime when I was a kind civilian, I had heard the name of Namo Amituofo. After 10.1 billion trillion years, I heard the name of Namo Amituofo again. This is truly an inconceivable thing.
In my memory, in these 10.1 billion trillion years, I did not have the opportunity to hear the name of Namo Amituofo, until now. When Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su radiated light in the Dharma Realm, in this deep space, they opened the spaces of many of our ancient demons, and then brought us into the light, into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. It was only then that I heard the Buddha-name of Namo Amituofo again. At that time, I felt so familiar in my heart. This was a memory I had heard before, but it was a very distant memory.
But this memory actually remained in my Alaya consciousness, so it was triggered at this moment. Many of my good roots were actually observed or revealed in some thoughts during this interview. In fact, they were brought out by the Buddha-name.
The Dharma Affinity in Australia
Because the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is located in the geographical location of Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Practitioner Su’s good deed is to hope to form a Dharma affinity with the people of Australia through advertising billboards and advertising trucks, hoping that they will also have the opportunity to hear the Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo" and have the opportunity to be saved.
Some people will disdain the idea of being saved, especially those who are confident in themselves. In fact, this kind of confidence is empty. Perhaps you are living a good life in the human world, not worrying about food and clothing, and even earning a lot of banknotes and money, having whatever you want. Some big tycoons, or their descendants, often get the things they want too easily or are satisfied, so sometimes it is inevitable that they will have arrogance, pride, or doubt. Greed, Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Doubt—these hearts arise and create karma, and also damage their own blessings and virtues. This is what I have seen.
The lifestyle of the human world is actually the same as the lifestyle of the Dharma Realm. Everyone is struggling to make money and obtain energy to maintain life for survival. This is a basic need, but after the basic needs are met, there are many more desires. At this time, the heart is different.
What I want to mention here is Practitioner Su’s recent good deed, which is to set up billboards for the six-character name "Namo Amituofo" on a large scale in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Toowoomba? In any case, on the highways in these places. We also saw it. As long as our thoughts turn, we can see it before our eyes. Indeed, many cars driving on the highway encounter traffic jams, especially during the peak hours of going to work and getting off work. They look left and right, and see "Namo Amituofo". These English words are read out, and indeed, "once it enters the ear-root, it becomes a seed for the path forever", which achieves the purpose of teaching beings. Not just teaching, but achieving the purpose of being saved. In terms of teaching, there is also the question of whether you are willing to be taught. Being saved is a different depth. Being saved is that you can be saved, and you can be delivered. The meaning of this "saving" in the Pure Land, I think, should be that it can give you the opportunity to chant the Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo", and then you can be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is my explanation of the meaning of the two words "saving and deliverance", which is a personal opinion, for reference only.
So this matter is truly too magnificent! Taking myself as an example, 10.1 billion trillion years ago, I heard the Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo". The , "once it enters the ear-root, it becomes a seed for the path forever", it has always existed, will not wither, and will not disappear. It just stays there quietly, waiting for the time when the causal conditions are ripe, and the seed begins to sprout. It is too magnificent! I am one of them. This time I heard the name "Namo Amituofo" again, and then I was able to enter the Western Dharma-Nature Land and was saved by the Buddha.
This experience, when I heard the interviews of the previous ancient demons, actually there were also ancient demons who were like this, which shows that this matter is true and not false. You must believe in the magnificent merits of the Buddha-name. In fact, when everyone is walking, if they still remember to chant the Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo", I see that some people’s feet are still glowing. Because while walking and chanting the Buddha’s name, the soles of the feet are glowing. This person is Practitioner Su. Haha, only he is like this, and it has been like this from many years ago until now. This is what I see now.
So at this time, the feet are glowing, and the Buddha-light is the Buddha-light. Like the Buddha-name, it penetrates the spirits that are contacted or heard. If the spirits underground or on the ground follow and chant the Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo", the space opens, and the spirit comes out. When the spirit comes out, Namo Amituofo in front is always waiting to receive the beings. Once the Buddha-light shines, the beings are received. This is truly too happy and too lucky!
This is also the reason why you all have to chant the Buddha-name when you are running on the grass or on the road outside after inviting the three hun souls and seven po souls on Thursday morning. Perhaps you cannot make your feet glow yet, but if you persevere, I believe there should be such a day. But your heart must be focused on the Buddha-name, and what is important is to have a compassionate heart.
The True Meaning of Compassion
Compassion does not mean that I want to be compassionate now, so I am compassionate. If I am unhappy in my heart later, and I have resentment toward this person, I will not be compassionate to him. This is not called compassion. Some people are especially good to certain people or a certain person, especially concerned, especially caring, but they will pay attention to the bad of others, see the bad, and even say bad, or sometimes they are picky when they speak, and they say it when they see it unpleasant. If the person he especially cares for or cares about is doing something or saying something, he just turns a blind eye. Alas! In such a situation, do you know how much karma you have created? And it is completely not you yourself, but the karmic spirits between you and him. You had a good relationship in the past, and even lived together and died together, so good that you could live and die together, and you were separated by life and death, and both sides were painful. And in the process, the two of you did many bad things and also did many good things, so good things have good rewards, and bad things have the same retribution. And among them, there is separate karma. Don't forget that he has his own karma. Perhaps he accumulated merit and virtue in the past, and he can have this blessing. What about you? Perhaps you are better than him, can accumulate merit and virtue, or perhaps you do not have this blessing. When you receive evil retribution, it is not necessarily that he is there when you are there. Perhaps the evil retribution you receive is deeper and heavier than him. Do you feel that it should be like this? Is this called practice? Practice doesn't seem to be like this, right? You should open your eyes and stretch your ears, especially for those you especially care about and pay attention to. If you are with him, doesn't this mean harming him?
If you are a truly wise person, you should know how to tell him the truth at this time, instead of spoiling him and following him. Only in this way can you be a truly compassionate person. Because I saw it, and I mentioned it casually at this time. This situation actually happens to everyone. Everyone has someone they especially care about, spoil, or cannot leave, or someone they will protect no matter what, and not just a little, but two, three, or ten points. Actually, can outsiders not see it? Everyone sees it clearly and understands it. Who suffers the loss? It is yourself. That is, your virtue and practice are like this, and everyone knows it.
This matter is not unsolvable, but it can be solved, but it is deeply related to your own karma. If your karma is intertwined with his, no one can open it. If you are willing to seek diligence on the Buddha’s path, and can achieve others after you have achieved yourself, then you have the possibility of being saved. Remove your selfishness, or the heart of partiality toward the other party, or the evil heart, or the heart of turning a blind eye. Treat beings with a fair and equal heart. In this way, the quality of your spirituality is improved, and you can have more Wisdom to help him, instead of being trapped yourself. This requires Wisdom.
Actually, a wise person is right in front of you, and that is Practitioner Su. Practitioner Su is so tolerant of you and observes the potential to teach. Observing the potential, not only looking at your own root potential, but also looking at the root potential of the spirits. Sometimes the spirits you manifest are like this. How can you help you and the spirits resolve it? What should you do? He will manifest what kind of behaviour and say what kind of words to make the spirits willingly resolve it. Next time, different spirits will appear. In past lives, they were men, and in this life, they are women. In the past, they were victims, and in this life, they have become fierce ghosts to find you. The way to resolve it may be different.
Practitioner Su’s heart is based on a heart of great compassion and a heart of saving beings. The Lion’s Roar manifested is based on observing the potential. Therefore, there is no fixed Dharma. You can say good, you can say bad, you can say not good, you can say not bad, you can say anything, but you must look at your root potential and speak. This can achieve the purpose of saving beings and help you people resolve it, and then relieve the interference of the spirits. The ultimate goal is of course to want you to be diligent, to worship the Buddha, to chant the Buddha’s name, and to recite the sutras without interference, to have achievements in the path, to realise your true nature soon, and to be able to help more beings. This is the Buddha. The Buddha-heart is like this, without mixing any personal selfishness. His words and deeds are all for the sake of beings. You must know how to see this, you must understand, and you will naturally be willing and truly convinced. Even if Practitioner Su roars at you with the Lion’s Roar, you must still be grateful. If a practitioner without virtue or a practitioner with insufficient merit does the same thing as Practitioner Su, haha! Sometimes the spirits don't care at all. Do you think spirits are so easy to deal with? They are not easy to deal with!
Actually, we also see too many situations of people in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, so we have such a conclusion. Before this, we didn't need to manage these things. However, my junior demon crowds are quite numerous, and each person’s root potential is different. Indeed, when you are an elder, or when you want to help a junior, you will look at their situation and speak or act, or perform that play, so that they can understand, can realise, "Oh, it turns out to be like this", and then they will be truly convinced, and then they will listen, and even kneel to receive Practitioner Su’s Lion’s Roar. If there is anyone who can do this, I will say this person is a talent that can be cultivated. This is truly a talent that can be cultivated, because they understand the Buddha-heart and have the heart to save beings, knowing that it is for the sake of beings that they perform like this. Such a junior, not bad, can be scolded a few more times, and sometimes even a stick is picked up. This is called a stick-shout; it is truly a stick-shout. Such an object can be treated like this. Practitioner Su, do you say so? This kind of object can be shouted at with a stick a few more times, hit twice, so that the spirits in the body are willing to come out and walk toward the Buddha-light, and the problem is solved.
If it is a practitioner without virtue or insufficient merit and power, if he wants to do such a thing, the result is that he gets hurt all over, because the spirits don't listen to you at all. "You didn't do well yourself, and you dare to say me? You didn't do well yourself, and you dare to want me to come out like this? How is this possible?" The spirits also know it clearly.
I am speaking from a fair position. I am not partial to anyone. I am not partial to Practitioner Su, nor am I partial to spirits or people, because each has their own position, role, and things to do. But at this time, don't forget that your role and position is a practitioner, to help beings and relieve the suffering of beings. Therefore, under this major premise, what you do is not selfish. After continuous purification, you will not see selfish behaviours and words, and you will naturally have the ability and virtue to help beings.
This is what I have seen in the hearts of the people at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and what I have realised from the performances and sincere teachings or lectures of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su in saving beings.
I offer my twelve-thousand-fold gratitude here, thanking Namo Amituofo for naming Mo Yiting so that I can say a few words, speak the words in my heart, and be able to say what I have observed recently for everyone to use as a reference.
Every word and deed, every move I say, is what I have witnessed with my own eyes and heard with my own ears, or what I have felt in my heart. There is no need to say any hypocritical words or lies here. There is no time to go around in circles to meet everyone’s heart, to protect the fragile heart, the heart that does not want to be hurt. There is no time, so I speak a little more directly. If there is any offence, please forgive me. You must know that every minute and every second here is truly quite precious.
Okay, what I have said in this interview ends here. Thank you all.
Namo Amituofo."
