The Buddha Wants to Save You
A Discourse from Namo Amituofo
Recorded on June 23, 2017
The Boundless Ocean of Suffering
The vast ocean of existence is boundless, and my heart is filled with deep concern for all beings. The light of , the light of true , is rarely seen in this world. Instead, the world is filled with the murky stains of ignorance and attachment. The of Ultimate Bliss is the only place where one can truly attain Buddhahood, free from the sorrows of this world. To reach that land is to attain the ultimate goal of existence.
My vow for Bodhi and my compassionate thoughts for you have never ceased. They are like the wisdom of the palm, moving freely through the empty sky. In truth, there is nothing to grasp, yet there is nothing that is truly empty. The great vow of Bodhi must be maintained for eternity; it is not merely a fleeting appearance that vanishes like the morning mist.
The True Path of the
You must not allow your original intention to waver. Keep your heart centred on the path of the Dharma. When you steer your life toward the great vessel of the Buddha’s teachings, you are participating in the revival and propagation of the True Teachings. The path of the True Teachings must be kept pure and white, like the bright moon hanging high in the sky, illuminating the darkness of the world.
This light shines into the murky hearts of beings, awakening the soul that has been lost in the void of ignorance. This is why I have come to save you, and why the wheel of the Dharma must be turned. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre stands in this world to propagate the Dharma and save all beings. It does not exist for personal gain; it exists to assist all beings in the ten directions, acting without the interference of selfish thoughts.
To act without a self-centred mind is the true way. It is the path that leads to the reality of the Dharma, and it is the wisdom that understands the nature of emptiness.
The Drifting Souls in the Sea of
Imagine a piece of dead wood drifting in a vast, boundless ocean. The sea has no end, and the cries of those lost within it are filled with despair. They long to return to their true home, but they do not know where that home is. This ocean is known as the Sea of Karma. To be saved and to propagate the Dharma, one must learn how to navigate these treacherous waters.
Human beings are originally good, but they must learn to see the goodness in all things. The seeds of the Bodhi vow must be planted and nurtured so that they may grow. The Buddha’s teachings have been in this world for a long time, yet the eyes of those in the Sea of Karma remain blind. They do not see the truth of life. People are caught in their own delusions and lack the will to change their direction. They prefer the temporary comfort of their current lives and cling to their own selfish thoughts. Centuries have passed, and now, in this final age, many have lost the fundamental path entirely.
The Mission of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre
What is often taught today is merely the surface of the Dharma, while the inner reality remains stained by worldly concerns. The state of the world is cold and indifferent, and the space around us is filled with countless spirits who have nowhere to go. They are trapped by their attachments, clinging to the bodies of the living and demanding retribution. The streets and the cities are no longer normal; they are filled with the echoes of unresolved karma.
Because of my , I have come to transmit the True Teachings. Because these teachings are authentic, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre remains in this world. It is a sacred place, not an ordinary one. Although it may not have the grandeur of an imperial palace, it is a place of great future significance. These words are spoken today in the hope that all beings will understand.
Cultivating the Buddha-Heart
The Buddha acts to save the world, and the Buddha’s disciples must learn to do the same. The Buddha acts with great compassion, and the Buddha’s disciples must cultivate that same heart. To follow this path, you must embody the heart and the vows of the Buddha. A disciple of the Buddha must be one who is dedicated to the path of enlightenment, supported by the infinite power of all Buddhas.
The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre is a place where the true Buddha manifests. It leads the masses toward the West, and this is not the work of ordinary people. These are true words; I hope you will cherish them and never let the Buddha’s guidance slip away. I am personally leading you, and this is solely for the purpose of propagating the Dharma in this world. There is no other intention. You must understand this clearly.
May you be filled with the of the Dharma. The sea of learning is boundless; begin your diligent practice now. Cultivate great virtue and a heart of compassion. Wisdom arises from within; you must know and understand this. The cultivation of the mind is superior to all external practices. In this world, many follow their own personalities and desires, thereby creating more karmic sins, which leads to the decay of the Buddha’s teachings. This must be corrected. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre must be protected, for it possesses great power and must continue to grow.
Awaken now to what is true and what is wise. Can you attain freedom over life and death? If you are troubled by the cycle of birth and death, where will you go in the six realms of existence? It is a terrifying thought to be without the Buddha’s protection. If your soul is scattered and your heart is left with scars, you are not truly practising goodness. Do not let your practice of Buddhism be merely a hollow name or a superficial worship of statues. If you can read these words, you still have the opportunity. Practise diligently and adjust your path. You can still reach the ultimate goal. Wake up, my children, and return to the path of the Buddha.
This message was received by the Buddha’s disciple, Shi Faxi, who recorded these words from Namo Amituofo.
