The Burden of Legacy and the Path to Deliverance
An Interview with Jeffrey Koo Jr. on Spiritual Inheritance
Recorded on February 20, 2018, by the chief writer, Shi Faxin
This interview features Jeffrey Koo Jr., who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects on his life, his spiritual journey, and the weight of his responsibilities, as recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on February 20, 2018.
Jeffrey Koo Jr. speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Every day, I participate in the Chao Du, joining the ranks of saviors. There are moments when my mental energy feels completely overwhelmed. Deep within my heart, there is a profound sense of sorrow, for the heaviness of daily life and the relentless pain of reincarnation are all pressed upon this physical body. It is the chanting of the Buddha-name that allows me to find a sense of calm; without it, how could I ever hope to clarify the chaos within?
The Weight of Responsibility
Practitioner Su has placed the heavy responsibility of carrying forward the Buddha’s teachings in Taiwan upon my shoulders. She does this only because she sees my potential and truly understands me. My true self is putting forth every possible effort, hoping that I can take a step further in this practice. In the financial industry, what we control—or what we call 'management'—is, in reality, often just the manipulation of money.
Transforming Finance into
Looking at it now, if this influence could be applied to the Buddha’s teachings, it would be the greatest possible use of such power. It would no longer be about the mere fluctuation of numbers on stocks or bonds. Instead, it would be about ensuring that the people of Taiwan, and even the unseen sentient beings, truly receive genuine benefits. I am still in the process of observing the changes within myself, and I know that I must cast aside all internal and external distractions to fully commit to this path of saving the world."
Namo Amituofo.
