The Confession of Mo Zun, the Primordial Earth Demon

This article records an interview with Mo Zun, an ancient Earth Demon who has existed for 451.2 billion years. After being saved by Practitioner Su’s Chao Du, he now resides in the Western Dharma-Nature Land. This interview was recorded on March 15, 2026, by the chief writer, Fa Ning.

Mo Zun speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I never expected that Namo Amituofo would suddenly call out my name, 'Mo Zun' [Demon Sovereign], and bring me here to be interviewed after being saved by Practitioner Su and brought to the Western Dharma-Nature Land.

I am an Earth Demon, and also a China Demon. There are so many demons in China; they are everywhere. I wonder what is so special about me that Namo Amituofo would single me out for this interview? I am not entirely sure. However, I suspect that any demon crowds capable of being interviewed must have a significant background, a vast sphere of influence, and demon children and grandchildren scattered across the land.

A Journey Across Eons

I am an old demon, four hundred and fifty-one billion and two hundred million years old. That sounds like an eternity, and even I do not know how much time has truly passed. Does the Earth even have such a long lifespan? It seems not. Indeed, I did not originally come from Earth. I was once attracted to this beautiful blue planet. During a mission, I became separated from my main group and chose to come to Earth to seek a new life. I stayed here for a very, very long time.

When I first arrived on Earth, it was not as it is now. Even the humans were different; the people of that era were vastly different from those of today. I have spent time on the land of China, lingering around the Yellow River and leaving my traces on the great mountains and rivers. You could say that my demon children and grandchildren are spread across many parts of China.

My sphere of influence was quite vast. Of course, even as demon crowds, we dared not be too arrogant or rampant. For an old demon of my age, to boast of my achievements in the Demon Realm before arriving at the Western Dharma-Nature Land would have been a dangerous thing. I certainly did not dare to do so back then.

The Relief of Truth

But now that I have arrived at the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I feel completely relaxed. Facing such compassionate and great beings as Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, I have no defenses at all. I am not worried about what others think of me; I will simply tell my story honestly. I believe this is the best account I can give to the general public. I, Mo Zun, have always been a straightforward demon; I do not get hung up on trifles, nor do I care about my reputation. Since it is time for me to be interviewed, I will do so honestly and happily.

This morning, I heard Practitioner Su reciting the names of all the provinces in China. He was referring to the scope of his Chao Du—truly, every province in China is completely covered under the Twelve Lights of Namo Amituofo. This is a major event that I, Mo Zun, have witnessed and experienced firsthand. This event is even more shocking than the wars, slaughter, and horrific scenes between demon crowds that I experienced in the past! It is truly an event that shakes the Demon Realm and the human world.

The Power of the Twelve Lights

When I was first brought here by the Twelve Lights of Practitioner Su, I did not have time to witness this vast scene because I was immersed in it. Arriving at the Western Dharma-Nature Land took only a second or two. But now, sitting on a lotus seat in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, a day or two has passed. Every moment, I keep my eyes wide open, watching the countless billions of manifestations of Practitioner Su and the changes they bring within China. I just watch, and watch, and keep watching.

Over these past two days, I have followed Practitioner Su to many places and seen the power of the Twelve Lights. It turns out that this power can penetrate many spaces, layer upon layer. Whether it is sentient beings or demon crowds, under the illumination of the Twelve Lights, they are peeled away layer by layer like the skin of the earth and sent directly into the Western Dharma-Nature Land.

The number of sentient beings accumulated in China over so many years is truly uncountable. No matter how Practitioner Su performs Chao Du, repeatedly and continuously, it is as if the earth and space are being peeled away layer by layer. Each layer contains countless, immeasurable sentient beings and demon crowds. Layer after layer, countless beings enter the Western Dharma-Nature Land.

The Hidden Depths of the Demon Realm

At the same time, one can see that there are still many, many layers of beings and demons pressed underneath, unable to poke their heads out to feel the energy of the Twelve Lights. This is the reason for the sheer number and depth of sentient beings and demons on the Divine Land of China.

Of course, many of us still exist within people. Every person has densely packed demon crowds on them. Many of them are Earth Demons like us. To control people, we find those whose character corresponds to our own, settle on them, absorb their energy, and control their minds, preventing them from walking the righteous path. This is what we demon crowds are best at.

The power exerted by the demons on people is truly immense. People are accustomed to being influenced by demon crowds and do not care about the Truth—the principles spoken by the Buddha. From this, one can see how rampant the power of demon crowds is. People would rather believe in the demons in their hearts than believe in the facts and Truth before their eyes. I know that the higher the status and the greater the influence a person in China has, the more demon crowds they have accumulated on them. Because they have influence, demon crowds like to control them to influence even more people. The benefits of controlling them are far greater than controlling ordinary civilians. Furthermore, if one controls a regional leader, a provincial leader, or a top national leader, the power they can exert is even greater. This is definitely not something an ordinary old demon could achieve.

Why the Dharma Was Absent

This is why there has been no Buddha’s teachings in China for decades—it is because there are too many demon crowds in China. Demon crowds have always regarded the Buddha as their enemy, fearing that the existence of the Buddha’s teachings would eliminate their power in China.

Practitioner Su's Chao Du this time is truly a wise move. Such deep, repeated Chao Du is truly like peeling the skin off the land of China layer by layer, and every layer is so filthy, so sinister, and so deeply rooted in people's hearts. After these layers are peeled away, perhaps people's hearts will naturally calm down and stabilize. The number of people who believe in the Buddha will gradually increase, and more and more people will walk out, no longer controlled by demon crowds.

Demon crowds are best at probing the 'heart' of people. They understand the human heart too well, which is why they can strike at it, causing so many people to suffer and allowing a country's policies to be completely controlled by demons without anyone knowing. This is the cleverness of the demon crowds. When your heart has even a slight bias, they can use that bias to expand it infinitely, turning you from a small evil into a great evil, or even a giant, greedy villain. They enjoy it and do not worry about receiving retribution.

A Witness to the Truth

Haha! Such immense power, yet it is a pity that people's eyes cannot see all this happening. They do not know that there is still Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su doing this great good for them, for so many Chinese people. They cannot see it, so naturally, they cannot develop A Heart of Gratitude or a heart of faith in the Buddha. But today, by speaking these words from my mouth, I want the general public to truly believe: Namo Amituofo has really come here, and Practitioner Su is really performing Chao Du for sentient beings. These real things are more convincing when spoken by us. After all, I am someone who has already walked the path.

Speaking of the provinces Practitioner Su has performed Chao Du in, I have stayed in quite a few of them. When I was saved by Practitioner Su and brought to the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I was staying in Gansu Province. Gansu is located in the northwest of China, and its shape on the map is very unique, stretching from east to west. I do not know if it is thousands of miles long, but it is indeed very long.

The Silk Road often heard of in ancient China, as well as the Jiayuguan Pass and the major gateways to the Western Regions, connect through Gansu to Xinjiang further west. For Gansu, the most famous and closest major city to us was the city of Xi'an in the east. The road from Xi'an to Xinjiang can be said to be long, but this is the Silk Road that ancient people yearned for.

The Illusion of Demon Palaces

To be honest, I did not stay in that place for very long. I said that my sphere of influence there was relatively large; I had demon palaces existing from the west to the east. Of course, these demon palaces are invisible to the naked eye, but they exist everywhere: in the soil, in the mountains, in the forests, and in the deserts. The desert is a place where many of my demon palaces are spread. Practitioner Su often says that deserts are full of demon crowds, and this is correct. Some of our demon crowds are receiving retribution, pressed deep under the sand dunes, crushed by the hot sand. This is one such case. Demon palaces are also hidden in secret places; under the sand, in forests, and in high mountain jungles, there are traces of my demon palaces.

I used to truly believe that the demon palaces were my everything, and my demon children and grandchildren were my everything. Today, Practitioner Su hit the nail on the head with one sentence. Practitioner Su said that the demon palaces are all 'illusions.' I felt a chill in my heart. Although I have arrived at the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I have not fully recovered; I did not expect the word 'illusion' to be so accurate. Our demon palaces have existed for such a long time—long before the people currently on Earth were born, back in the Qing, Ming, and Song dynasties, my demon palaces were gradually established and spread throughout China. But I did not expect that Practitioner Su's word 'illusion' would crush us. The demon palaces I thought had existed so truly for so long were actually fake.

The Power of the Twelve Lights

Practitioner Su brings the Twelve Lights of Amitabha Buddha to shine so warmly on this land. Not to mention the illusion of the demon palaces, even we can be received into the Western Dharma-Nature Land at any time, let alone the demon palaces we built? They are truly shattered, leaving nothing behind. This sounds cruel, but it is not entirely so. Some of my demon children and grandchildren have not yet been able to accept such things. There are still many, many of my demon palaces in the vast regions of mainland China that have not been destroyed by Practitioner Su.

To be honest, if I were asked to tell Practitioner Su where the demon palaces are, I would tell him truthfully. From the current city of Shanghai in the east, all the way to Jiangsu, then moving west to Anhui Province, Hubei Province, and all the way to Shaanxi Province and Gansu Province, there are quite a few demon palaces along this east-west axis. You could also call them demon dens, depending on how you look at it. Some demon palaces are magnificent, while some demon dens cannot be called palaces because they are hidden in secret corners. They do not have a magnificent appearance, but they can truly accommodate tens of thousands or even billions of demon children and grandchildren.

Of course, I feel I do not need to tell Practitioner Su too much. With the speed of Practitioner Su's Chao Du, my demon palaces and dens have nowhere to hide; it is easy for Practitioner Su to find them. Or perhaps if Practitioner Su just has a thought and thinks of my name, Mo Zun, he could accurately find all my demon palaces and dens. I believe the Buddha has such ability.

A Warning to Others

My name—humph, I dare not boast anymore. Old demons like me are everywhere in China. Of course, there are plenty of demons older and more capable than me. Some of my demon children and grandchildren may have already received the news, knowing that their boss—that is, I, Mo Zun—has left China, left the Earth forever, and come to another world. I hope they can sincerely listen to my speech and sincerely accept the fact that they could be delivered by Practitioner Su at any time and brought to this beautiful place.

Let me tell you, I am not lying to you. I am truly and happily staying in the Western Dharma-Nature Land; everything here is real and perfect. I hope you can believe it sooner so you do not have to suffer so much. The one thing you must absolutely not do is attack Practitioner Su. I have seen too many demon crowds meet a miserable end, and I know you certainly do not want to follow in their footsteps.

If you attack Practitioner Su's heart, back, nose, ears, eyes, or other parts, such evil deeds will result in your own souls receiving retribution in the future. No matter when it is, the laws of karma and cause and effect are precise. You have created such a great cause, actually casting spells to attack the body of the Buddha and causing the Buddha to be injured—I dare not speak of the consequences of the cause and effect accumulated throughout your many lives. Unless you can stay in the Western Dharma-Nature Land and chant Buddha's name with all your might until you are reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, then it might be okay. If you cannot do that and have to continue to revolve according to your karma, that would be too miserable.

The Universal Principle

I advise you to be rational. Practitioner Su's countless billions of manifestations are not a joke. Practitioner Su has today's skills because, for thirty years, and even throughout your many lives, he has cultivated a very broad mind-capacity, compassion, and Patience (Endurance). He can accept all external hardships without the slightest ripple in his heart. I personally saw demon crowds casting spells to attack the body of Practitioner Su, and we were shocked at the time. Fortunately, I was rational and did not do so. I observed calmly and found that at the moment they cast the spells, or in the instant after, they were covered in wounds. Being covered in wounds is a small matter; the negative cause created and the karma that cannot be borne throughout your many lives is a huge matter.

This is not Practitioner Su wanting to take revenge on us; this is absolutely not the case. This is the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way that operates between heaven and earth. If you hurt a person, you must receive retribution, let alone hurting the Buddha, who is the Buddha who came to save us general beings? You see, this crime is huge, right? Alright, think about it yourselves; I will not say much more.

The Change in the Land

When Practitioner Su's countless billions of manifestations descended on Shaanxi Province and came to our inconspicuous little dark demon palace, I was holding a meeting with demon crowds and demon teachers. I never expected such a great tremor. We were discussing how to expand our demon influence and how to continue to control the people here to gain energy.

I personally saw that in the place where I was, many demons' temperaments had changed compared to before. Gansu Province used to be a very simple province; people's living standards were not as high as in the big cities in the east, so everyone's hearts were relatively simple. But at this moment, one can see that in the last ten or twenty years, the development of the internet has caused a large number of demon crowds to gather here. In all virtual worlds and the real world, the situation of people being controlled by demons is more obvious than ever before. Although it is not as rampant as the demon crowds in big cities, there are quite a few demons in our Gansu Province.

Whatever personality one has, that kind of demon will be attracted to that place. The more demon crowds gather, the more it means that the hearts of the people in that place are increasingly in sync with the demon crowds, increasingly having a demon nature. This is clearly visible. Having stayed in this place for so many years, it is easy to see.

The Cycle of Energy

Why do we demon crowds like to live by controlling people and take pleasure in it? Alas, demon crowds, we first need energy. If these people's character corresponds to ours, we can easily obtain energy from them. We can take them into various spaces they like, let them play to their heart's content, and we can also absorb their energy to our heart's content. Is this not a win-win situation? They are happy, and we are satisfied. Such a simple transaction, but it has actually harmed quite a few people.

We demon crowds are all skilled in various ways. It is not just the demons in the virtual world; all sizes of demons actually exist in our family. Therefore, there are many things we can do. When this power gathers together, it can clearly interfere with a place, or even the hearts of people in a town or a small city, making them change in various aspects: changing their likes and dislikes, influencing their emotions and moods, controlling the decisions they make, etc. In fact, many things are under our control.

If you ask me what 'Mo Zun' is good at, what I am good at is called 'development.' They call me the 'Development Demon,' meaning I can influence the development of a small city or a small town. Whether it is moving towards prosperity, letting people eat their fill and wear warm clothes, or influencing a place's economy so it never improves, or making agricultural farming unable to meet standards—all of this is under my control.

A Chance for Redemption

If human hearts have gone bad and become very in sync with us demon crowds, we can easily influence the development of that place in all aspects, causing development to stagnate and not become so good. All of this is under our control. Practitioner Su is right. The reason Practitioner Su wants to perform Chao Du for the demon crowds of China on such a large scale is because people are living too miserably.

Practitioner Su, we demon crowds are only one reason. If people's character does not change, then cannot the demon crowds still endlessly control people? But in fact, we also know that Practitioner Su's large-scale Chao Du can really bring about a great influence. This was originally something we did not want to see. We have finally taken root here for so many years; some demon crowds have been here for decades, hundreds of years, or thousands of years. Like me, I do not even know if it has been tens of thousands of years or hundreds of millions of years. Anyway, a long, long time ago, when people were still living in the primitive era, I existed in this place, and I cannot remember the year. Such a profound influence was crushed by Practitioner Su in an instant. My heart was originally not happy. But now that I have been in the Western Dharma-Nature Land for a day or two, I know that some people's actions, no matter how grand they do them, thinking it is their life's work, in the end, it is nothing left.

The good thing is that at the end of this emptiness, I can still come to such a beautiful Buddha-land as the Western Dharma-Nature Land, instead of being dragged into sand dunes or pressed under mountains to receive retribution. I am truly a very fortunate old demon.

A New Beginning

When Practitioner Su's countless billions of manifestations came in on a large scale, our meeting was forced to stop immediately. Before we could think, we felt a very warm light and energy shining on us. We were still planning how to obtain more energy to maintain this gradually growing demon team, never knowing that when such a powerful natural energy shone on us, we could not help but admire it in our hearts.

Arriving at the Western Dharma-Nature Land, we do not have to worry about food, clothing, or energy. The Buddha-light here is even brighter, which can clear away quite a bit of the filth from our bodies. Look at my appearance now; have I become whiter and cleaner? You guessed it right. I was originally a gray-faced demon, often in the desert, hiding in a dark space where no one could see me. My original color was naturally black. I did not expect that in less than two days, I would have recovered seven or eight percent of my appearance.

If I continue to purify here, listen to sutras and hear the Dharma, and chant Buddha's name, I think I will soon become a dignified, great man, as Practitioner Su said. This is something I am looking forward to. Practitioner Su, listening to your lectures and hearing your teachings to the fourfold assembly at the Dharma assembly, and witnessing your Chao Du these past two days, my demon children and grandchildren and I are all kneeling at your feet, truly convinced, with no regrets and no annoyance. We just want to turn over a new leaf and stay here to continue learning. If there is anything we can do for Practitioner Su, please tell us; we are very willing to serve Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.

From doing things that destroy and control people in the past, to now deeply knowing that all of this is an illusion and all of this will receive retribution, we have changed from a demon that harms people to a demon that wants to save people. We are not unaware of people's suffering, but only after we have purified and our character has changed do we deeply know that what we did before was really not in accordance with the Dharma and was truly a huge mistake. Without the education of the Buddha’s teachings, one would truly never know.

Now, my demon children and grandchildren and I are full of gratitude. That we can receive such great purification and change is entirely due to Practitioner Su's great sacrifice and suffering for the human world. We demon crowds are deeply moved by this, and we know that our previous actions were truly not in accordance with the Dharma. Practitioner Su is saving people, and we can also participate in the action of saving people to make up for the bad things we did before. That is truly a blessing in disguise.
