The Demon of Innovation: A Confession from Steve Jobs

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Steve Jobs, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This testimony was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa, on August 13, 2017.

Steve Jobs speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Steve Jobs, the key figure who led the development of Apple. Today, Apple products are scattered across the globe, bringing what many call a 'convenient' life to all of humanity. In this world, I could say that my contribution to technology was indispensable. I created machines that were so compelling that humanity had no choice but to use them, no choice but to rely on them. Electronic integration is the trend of the modern world. Even something as practical as paying for goods can now be replaced by a mobile phone, turning it into an electronic wallet."

The Hidden Face of a Tech Hero

"I, Steve Jobs, was hailed as a hero of world technology, a genius worshipped by the masses. But why is it that only now, in this state, do I realise that I was a demon? I was a demon driving the world toward destruction. I was controlled by what you might call 'extra-universal demons,' and I spurred more and more 'demon crowds' of technology to become active in this world. The internet is like an invisible web, binding the world together. I use this description, and perhaps it frightens you, but it is much like a spider's web. Now, I see that the internet is filled with the 'demon children and grandchildren' of technology. They extend outward, quietly invading The Head of human beings."

The Invisible Web of Control

"It is not that the internet itself is inherently evil, but one must not become addicted to it. I feel deep regret. Here in the Western Land, I look back and see the avid users of mobile phones and the internet. So many have entered a virtual, illusory world. What does this mean? I see spirit after spirit stuck in the space between dimensions, endlessly scrolling through their phones or becoming virtual characters in online games. This is why so many people cannot tear themselves away from their computer desks—they have already entered the space inside the computer. It is terrifying, yet it is the truth."

Trapped in a Virtual Space

"I was controlled to use my intelligence to invent computers, all to control the humans of this universe. This was the true purpose of those extra-universal demons. After I died, I naturally went straight to report to the hells. In truth, even before I died, I was already in hell. From the moment I discovered my kidney stones, my body slid downhill for over a decade, until cancer cells spread uncontrollably throughout my entire being. This was the retribution I received for creating 'convenience' for humanity while, in my bones, I was lowering the quality of life for all. My body was slowly tortured to death by these illness-demons."

The Karmic Retribution of a Creator

"During my illness, I did not have much resentment, because I was still buried in my inventions, leading Apple to the peak of technological creation. I was not myself—I wonder if you understand. My spirit, because of the karma created by my body, was already wailing in the hells. The spirits of those I harmed are already rotating in the Avici Hell. Even now, I have left behind many serious sequelae. Many people are buried in piles of computers, unable to extricate themselves. Usually, the victims are the pillars of the nation's future—many young children who, because of their inner emptiness, choose to fill the void with computers and kill time."

A Plea for Transformation

"I do not know how to remedy this, because this world has truly been made a mess by me. It is the children I have harmed! A person like me is truly a demon. Tim Cook, we were always good partners at work. You must deeply reflect on every real problem I have raised. I do not want my good partner of a lifetime to walk the exact same path as I did. There is still time—quickly turn around and reverse this horrifying situation. Apple should transform into a company that creates new products that provide technological convenience without causing addiction. Otherwise, how will you repay the karma created over and over again? I, Steve Jobs, hope that those who see this letter will not be controlled by their mobile phones and will develop their awareness. Speaking these words is the only way I can think of to compensate humanity. I bow here. Namo Amituofo."
