The Demon Who Harvests Intellect

An Interview with Mo Wei, the Ancient Demon of the Milky Way

Recorded at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

This is a record of an interview with Mo Wei, an ancient demon from the Milky Way who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Nature. This account reflects upon his influence over human intellect throughout history. Recorded by the chief writer, Fa Ning, on March 23, 2026.

Mo Wei speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Wei. I am absolutely delighted to accept this interview today. It is finally my turn to be interviewed by the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre! Ever since Namo Amituofo mentioned my name, I have been waiting with great excitement for this day to arrive.

It is true—the vast land of China has long been my home. I consider it my entire world. I, Mo Wei, am an exceptionally intelligent demon. I have made it a habit to present myself to the world through this identity of 'intelligence.' It is my signature, my calling card, if you will. Everyone knows me as the 'Smart Demon.' What I mean by this is that ever since I chose to come to this planet, Earth, I set my sights immediately on the land of China. I could sense that a group of highly intelligent humans would reside there. As a 'Smart Demon'—a demon whose capabilities in every aspect are precise and powerful—I felt that only in China could my magnetic field find its perfect match, and only there could my abilities truly be unleashed.

The Dictionary of Human Hearts

My intelligence lies in my ability to peer into the hearts of people of all races. Whether their hearts are complex or simple, I can dissect them clearly the moment they appear before me. I know exactly what methods and means to use to control such individuals. I can categorise the Chinese people into hundreds of different personalities and faces, and I know precisely which method is best suited to control each type. This comprehensive information is stored in a dictionary or index within our demon group. My 'demon children and grandchildren' all refer to the 'Dictionary of Chinese Hearts' that I have established for them. As soon as they see a certain type of person, they know exactly how to control them most effectively.

As for me, Mo Wei, I am a demon who specialises in controlling the talented scholars, the brilliant minds, and the learned intellectuals of China. It is safe to say that many of the top students have been unable to escape the clutches of myself and my vast group of 'demon children and grandchildren.' In the eyes of ordinary people, these scholars appear to be incredibly intelligent, possessing unique insights and viewing things with great clarity. Only we demons know that these so-called scholars and intellectuals are, as the great Practitioner Su has said, 'not truly themselves.' That statement is absolutely correct. When Practitioner Su said this, my heart trembled. Could it be that Practitioner Su had already discovered me? Yes, I had been discovered by Practitioner Su long ago. The reason these brilliant scholars are not truly themselves is that they have long since been utilised and taken over by us!

The Web of Complex Thoughts

We are experts at controlling them because the inner world of these scholars is actually far more complex than that of ordinary people. Their web of thought is incredibly dense. Within every single thought lie countless tiny thoughts and intricate branches, spreading out in a way that is truly astonishing. If you imagine a single thought as a great tree, the tree of an ordinary person might not have such lush foliage. But for a person of supreme intelligence, when a single thought arises, their leaves are densely packed—large and small, dark and light—and the branches spread out in a thick, impenetrable network. You could say that one such tree occupies the entire space, leaving not a single gap. This is the difference between the two trees, and it is the difference in the thought processes between ordinary people and these brilliant scholars. Naturally, the more thoughts one has, the more complex they become, and that is the perfect opportunity for us demons to strike.

Therefore, within this densely packed space of theirs, there are many traces of where we demons have intervened. Their thoughts are not truly their own; one can clearly see the vast scope of our influence. This is a massive web of thought created through the mutual interaction between them and us demons. I, Mo Wei, used to analyse such figures in the Demon Realm, so it is no different here in the human world. I have a unique attraction to these brilliant scholars, and I can quickly identify them in a crowd because their brainwave fluctuations differ from those of ordinary people. Once I have selected such a person, I can naturally clarify which type of 'brilliant' person they are within their dense web of thoughts, and then prescribe the right medicine to exert the appropriate control over them.

They are actually very easy to 'buy in' because they possess such potential and habits to begin with. So, when I send information with similar fluctuations and frequencies to them, they usually accept it all, believing these are their own thoughts, views, and subjective opinions, when in fact, many are laced with our influence. Moreover, it is quite obvious that it is rare to find these brilliant scholars who do not possess the habits of arrogance and conceit. Therefore, it is very easy for us to control them according to their personalities; this is quite easy to understand.

The Elite Targets

As everyone knows, the most prestigious and famous universities in China are Tsinghua University and Peking University. These two universities, located in Beijing, are the gathering places for China's top talents. After graduating from these institutions, some achieve great success in their careers, some make ideal contributions to society, and others remain obscure or even live in poverty. It varies, but people with such brainwaves are everywhere in these university environments. Those who can get into top universities already possess the kind of brainwaves that we can spot at a glance and find very easy to control.

Therefore, my 'demon children and grandchildren' all gather at China's major universities, especially Tsinghua and Peking. Our lingering there is, quite simply, our paradise. When it comes to controlling scholars, people might not understand what aspects we are trying to control. Speaking of their brainwaves, the thoughts I have observed, and the tree metaphor I mentioned earlier—these observations are excellent tools for identifying them. When it comes to actual control, my 'demon children and grandchildren' and I also go through a rigorous selection process; we do not control every single scholar in this way.

Generally speaking, intellectuals and scholars can be divided into two categories. The first category consists of those who harbour a heart of patriotism. In the university environment, there are those who enter with a heart full of desire to serve their country. They think about how to master science and technology so that they can eventually stand out and make a contribution to the nation, whether in science, technology, education, or medicine. If they embark on their studies with such a heart for the country and the people, we demons will feel a sense of respect and let them be, allowing them to continue to use their abilities to give their all for the Chinese people.

The second category consists of those driven by personal interest. This includes those who, while they may speak of serving the country and the people, have actions and deep-seated thoughts that are actually driven by their own interests in every matter. The characteristics of this type of person include a tendency toward competition, struggle, jealousy, resentment, comparison, or discrimination. They do not genuinely want to cooperate with others to achieve great things for the country and the people; instead, they are constantly thinking about their own achievements and how to reach their goals to gain money, fame, or other personal benefits. As long as they are scholars driven by self-interest and have an unstable character, they are excellent targets for us to control.

Of course, such temperaments can also be seen in ordinary people, but the influence that scholars and intellectuals can exert on society is certainly much greater. After graduation, they often become leaders in their fields, whether in politics, business, or education. Therefore, as long as we can strike at them, and as long as their mental notes are skewed rather than upright, it is equivalent to striking at the leaders of various fields in China. If you look around today, which of the high-ranking executives in China's major enterprises is not a graduate of a prestigious school, a person of status, or someone with top-tier academic credentials? They all are!

Demons have a characteristic: no matter what we are controlling, we love to make things big. The bigger and more spectacular, the better; that is a sign of our success. Demons are also concerned with 'face'—we hope that everyone can see how powerful the objects of our control are, or see how deep and wide our achievements are. Therefore, finding these well-known elite figures to target is more helpful to us.

Furthermore, we also know that the manifestation of personality is the best time for demons to control people. The personalities just mentioned, such as competition, struggle, jealousy, and resentment, are now very common in the hearts of scholars in mainland China. People will, to some extent, think for themselves. Therefore, we will further strengthen these personalities. For example, if someone has a competitive heart, we make them even more eager to compete, which then escalates into struggle. The impact this has on their lives can be said to be very profound. How so? First, there is the hidden crisis. If a talented person enters society and embarks on a career path with a competitive heart, it may look glorious on the surface, but there is a huge crisis hidden within. The stronger a person's personality, the more crises there are, which may include crises of and crises of the heart."

Next, there is the inevitable decline in both career and life. As long as people possess these specific personality traits, their actions are fundamentally driven by selfishness. Consequently, no matter how high their achievements may be, there will eventually come a day when they fall. This 'fall' can manifest as massive challenges in their careers; for some, middle age marks the beginning of a streak of bad luck, leading to a downward spiral, bankruptcy, or being torn apart from their families. All sorts of calamities can befall them.

The Roots of Illness and

Furthermore, there is the emergence of negative and illness. People with intense personalities often accumulate significant negative karma while pursuing their ambitions. When this negative karma intertwines with their character, it makes them more susceptible to illness, even incurable diseases. Many talented individuals and intellectuals begin to suffer from various ailments by middle age, some of which are extremely rare and defy medical explanation. The root of these illnesses lies primarily in the complexity of their minds. As their mental states become more complex, their conditions become increasingly erratic and difficult to treat. Medical science often identifies a cause, but that is merely the physical, superficial factor; it cannot truly delve into the depths of the heart—the illnesses triggered by their level of complexity and selfishness. This cause and effect, visible only from a psychological perspective, is something that only we, the demons who cause these illnesses, can perceive. We do not directly cause them to fall ill; their own personalities make them sick, and we merely act as catalysts, accelerating their decline and worsening their conditions.

The Trap of the 'Talented'

Looking across the world, the fates of top-tier figures and talented individuals are much the same. One could say that the fate of all humanity follows the path of birth, aging, sickness, and death. However, the smarter and more selfish people are, the wider and more profound the impact of the selfishness triggered by their intelligence. Therefore, as people reach middle and old age, the life challenges they face become increasingly complex and varied, some even defying belief. The Chinese are known as some of the smartest people in the world, and the complex, intractable problems they face are rarely seen elsewhere—this is understandable, is it not? I, the demon Wei, am an expert at provoking these layers of complex character within them, making their minds even more convoluted and their selfishness even more profound. When it comes down to it, this is a personality I once possessed myself, which is why I am so skilled at controlling them and why it satisfies my inner cravings so deeply.

The Demon Palaces of Academia

The vast system of 'demon children and grandchildren' I have developed is guided by these very goals. As for where my demon palaces are located? I suspect people have already guessed. I have two major demon palaces situated right on the campuses of Tsinghua University and Peking University, and these are merely the two largest ones. There are so many universities in China, and they are accustomed to ranking them in various ways—the so-called '985 universities,' '211 universities,' and so on. In truth, wherever there is a famous university, our demon palaces exist; it is merely a matter of scale. The higher the university is ranked, the larger the demon palace we have there; even in mid-tier universities ranked within the top ten or twenty, the reach of our demon palaces is incredibly vast.

Beginning to control these talented individuals at this stage is truly the best approach, as they are still young, innocent, and their characters are not yet set. By administering our 'catalyst' at this time, we can solidify their personalities. By the time they enter society, this personality is fixed and irreversible, leading them step by step toward selfishness. This is the destiny that these talented individuals are forced to follow.

The Boundary of Righteousness

Of course, I must emphasize this point. I have said before that for those talented individuals who are genuinely working for the country and the people, who possess a sense of justice and righteousness, we do not target them, nor are we able to. Because their hearts truly and sincerely wish to use their talents to serve the nation, this aligns with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, which makes it truly impossible for us demon crowds to intervene.

The Path to Deliverance

Now, we reach the core of this interview. Practitioner Su asked me to speak these words, likely wanting me to reveal the flaws in the Chinese heart and the path to a solution. The solution is very simple: distance yourself from these personality traits, distance yourself from selfishness, and distance yourself from the common ailment that many Chinese people suffer from—the competitive heart, the overbearing heart, the heart that seeks to surpass others to satisfy one's own desires and vanity. Such a state of mind must not be allowed to grow; it is precisely this state of mind that allows demon crowds to control you. If even a trace of this personality exists, you must diligently change your ways, transforming it into a heart of true, selfless dedication—a heart that truly works for the people, a heart that can cooperate with others and give everything for the benefit of others. Such a heart is pure and full of Goodness, and we demon crowds will not come near it.

The Collapse of the Demon Empire

When it comes down to it, my vast demon palace system was finally thoroughly uncovered by Practitioner Su just a few days ago, when he visited Beijing to perform a great Chao Du and radiate great light. Previously, parts of our demon palaces had been dismantled, but our system is truly vast; Practitioner Su would destroy one part, and there would be another; he would destroy another, and yet another remained. Practitioner Su brought the Twelve Lights of , dividing them into many batches, slowly dismantling the palaces. This time, he directly dismantled the headquarters and the very foundation of our demon palaces—the deep-rooted base was completely wiped out. My demon children and grandchildren and I had nowhere left to stay, so we had no choice but to follow the light, directly accompanying Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. The distance from Beijing to Australia is vast, but we arrived in an instant at the Western Land of Dharma Nature located at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia.

A Multitude Beyond Counting

Of course, this is a spiritual world, a world invisible to the physical eyes of humans. Let me tell you: the number of demon crowds and beings from mainland China who have arrived here is truly staggering. People think the waters of the Yellow River are vast, or that the Yangtze River is immense, but the number of beings and demon children and grandchildren here is overwhelmingly greater than the Yangtze and Yellow River combined. We poured into the Western Land of Dharma Nature like a flood; looking out, there is no end in sight—it is infinite, truly infinite. This is the manifestation of Practitioner Su's great heart, great vows, and his world-saving skills pushed to the absolute limit! Namo Amituofo, of course, fully cooperates with Practitioner Su's actions, because Practitioner Su acts entirely in accordance with the teachings of Namo Amituofo; he is the perfect executor of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. Therefore, wherever Practitioner Su performs Chao Du, one can see Namo Amituofo radiating great light for that place. It can be said that no matter how many are delivered, they are all brought into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, leaving not a single one behind. Though my demon children and grandchildren and I were caught unprepared, we were left with no other choice.

We have truly stepped into the Western Land of Dharma Nature. After listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma here for a period of time, we have finally removed our demon masks to face our own hearts. We sincerely repent for the harm we have caused to the people and the talented individuals across the vast land of China over these years. Controlling them was equivalent to controlling the fate of the vast Chinese population. How many leaders in various fields come from these ranks? Even the current national leaders come from these universities. To control such talented individuals is to control the fate of a nation, is it not?

The Ancient Demon's Confession

Haha! When it comes down to it, I forgot to introduce myself, the demon Wei. I mentioned earlier that I am a demon from the Milky Way, did I not? I am a demon of the 606 billion trillion Milky Way. My spirit arrived on this land of China on Earth, and it has certainly been here for more than China's five thousand years of history—looking back, it is likely over ten thousand years. However, my early activities were very low-key because there were few people I could control at that time. I specialize in controlling talented individuals, and since China was in the stage of primitive humans back then, there were naturally no talented individuals for me to control. I came here with the intention of 'retiring,' so I did not act on a large scale initially. But as society evolved and people began to vie for power and profit, I gradually began to control the people of China. In ancient China, although the number of talented individuals was not large, the ancients were, after all, more simple-hearted. Many talented individuals took the imperial examinations with a sincere desire to serve the country. Therefore, the means we had to control them were limited. Of course, there was a small portion of talented individuals who were indeed driven by the goal of seizing fame and wealth, hoping to bring prestige to their families. Guided by such goals, I, the demon Wei, could easily control them. This is history now, and I will not dwell on it further, but the logic throughout this journey has always been the same.

Now that I have arrived in the Western Land of Dharma Nature, I have laid down the butcher's knife and resolved to become a Buddha. I know that becoming a demon is absolutely something that must never be done, let alone using the identity of the Demon Realm to control so many important people in China; this is truly a grave and heinous sin. But I must honestly report to Practitioner Su that I, the demon Wei, am merely one representative of the 'old demons' who control talented individuals. In fact, I know many, many other old demons who do the same things I do, and their demon palaces are spread across every major region of China. For example, in educational and academic units, including major universities, schools, and famous educational institutions; furthermore, in medical institutions and other major organizations, traces of their presence can be found. Even now, some of my own demon palaces in other major universities outside of Beijing have yet to be destroyed. Namo Amituofo.

I truly hope that Practitioner Su’s salvation team can, under the guidance of Namo Amituofo, soon bring them all into the Western Land of Dharma Nature, one by one. Since I have been transformed, this is something I am very happy to see. Watching the magnificent feats that Practitioner Su is currently accomplishing across the vast lands of China, I, Mo Wei, am truly filled with admiration. As an old demon who has existed for countless ages, I have never seen anyone like this appear before. Think about it—whether across the Dharma Realm, the Milky Way, the heavens beyond the heavens, or among the various demonic beings—and even throughout the six realms of rebirth and the human world—there has never been a person who, while in a human body, attained Buddhahood and made such an Ultimate Vow to carry out such monumental work.

A Vision of Infinite

Practitioner Su, through his own individual efforts, has attained Buddhahood. The scope of his work—bringing along the beings and demon crowds saved by Namo Amituofo—is truly immeasurable and boundless. It is as vast as the space within the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and the Western Land of Dharma Nature; it is infinite, endless, and without boundary. This is something that truly fills my 'demon children and grandchildren' with profound reverence!

Namo Amituofo.
