This is a record of an interview with Mo Yong, a demon currently residing within of Practitioner Yu Yuetao. Practitioner Yu sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia, where she currently resides. This account, which reflects upon the nature of attachment and the influence of demonic entities, was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on July 28, 2021.

Mo Yong speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Yong. Without my strength—this 'courage' I provide—how could she have possibly come back from the brink of death? Let me tell you, I love staying in this world. It is a playground where I can stir up chaos to my heart's content. My favourite targets are the elderly who are terrified of dying. These people are the perfect puppets for me to manipulate.

Whether the person can still walk, eat, or is already bedridden and unconscious, it makes no difference to me. I want them all. My ultimate goal is to use their bodies to torment the very people who are trying to care for them. Think about it—it is a perfect cycle of suffering."

The Cruelty of Long-Term Illness

"There is a saying in your world: 'A long illness wears out even the most filial child.' Hahaha! That saying is absolutely spot on. When someone is sick for a long time, there is no such thing as a truly filial child, nor can there be any genuine friends. Human hearts are just that selfish. Once you fall ill, how many family members will actually have the patience to care for you? How much money can you really spend on medical bills? How much time can they truly spare to sit by your side?

If we demons add a little 'control' to the mix, we can make the elderly person prone to temper tantrums. We make them find fault with everything—this food is bad, that person is wrong, they keep repeating the same stories over and over again. Their personality changes entirely, as if they have become a completely different person. These behaviours are designed to exhaust the patience of their caregivers. As soon as I tighten my grip, the caregivers start to resent the elderly person. That is exactly what I love to see."

The Trap of Attachment

"So, an elderly person who is clinging to a half-dead life is not only tormenting those around them, but they are also torturing themselves. They are being tested by the coldness of human relationships, and they are forced to see the harsh reality of this world. They want to die but cannot, they feel the pain in their hearts but cannot speak of it, and they are caught in a dilemma between wanting to live and wanting to let go. It is miserable! Truly miserable! I applaud it! This is the very purpose of my existence: to ensure that everyone has plenty of suffering to endure.

This elderly woman, Yu Yuetao, is exactly the kind of person who refuses to let go of life. She fits every criteria I look for in a host. The only unique thing about her is that, although she has children, they are not by her side. Instead, she is being helped by people at this place where they study the . I have been observing how much patience everyone here has for her. With me, Mo Yong, inside her, her life can be extended for a very long time. She can fulfil all her heart's desires, and seeing her children again will be no problem at all."

The Gateway of Greed

"Initially, I thought I would have no way to enter her body because she was studying the Dharma in a place where the Buddha resides. To my surprise, I only had to try once, and I was in. It was her own 'greed' that opened the door and welcomed me inside. Once I was in her body, I discovered that this woman is terrified of death—which really caught me off guard. I assumed that people who study the Dharma would have no fear of death and would be longing for that so-called Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. But she is completely different. Not only is she afraid of dying, but she is also deeply attached to this world. As for the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss? To her, it is far too distant. She wants to keep living!

Because she is so desperate to protect this body, she is hyper-aware of every little movement inside her. If I even nudge her slightly, she notices immediately, and her mind starts racing—thinking, thinking, and never stopping. The more she clings to this body, to this world, and to her descendants, the more I can exert my demonic power. I make her feel 'braver' and more demanding, which only makes her greed grow deeper."

A Crowded Vessel

"However, we have noticed that the longer she lives, the more her body is being replaced and controlled. There are so many spirits fighting to get inside her. If they want to eat, they can eat; if they want to sleep, they can sleep. It is such a good place that everyone is scrambling to move in. I didn't mention it before, but there are many Ghost Kings inside her now. Right now, every one of her blood vessels is like a bustling street. There are gods, ghosts, and demons—everyone is out parading, fighting for food. It is truly lively in there!

Now, you are calling me out—are you trying to force me to leave her body? I am so powerful; if I am gone, her body will no longer have that 'courage' to keep going. She would probably want me to stay with her, wouldn't she? You should stop meddling in our affairs. If she still wants me, I am willing to stay. After all, I am the only one who can help her live to a ripe old age. We are on the same side, unlike you people who keep telling her to leave. Do you have any idea how sad that makes her feel? Namo Amituofo."
