The Ancient Demon's Journey to Deliverance
An Interview with Mo Dun, a 5.9 Trillion-Year-Old Cosmic Demon
Recorded on March 16, 2026
This is a record of an interview with Mo Dun, an ancient cosmic demon who existed for 5.9 trillion years. He sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Nature. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa-Ru, on March 16, 2026.
Mo Dun speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Fifty-nine trillion years—that is truly a long, long time. I never imagined that after roaming the universe for so many eons, I would one day take refuge in the Buddha’s gate. And to think it happened because I was forcibly illuminated by the Buddha-light and invited into the Dharma-Nature Land, finally giving me the chance to surrender at the feet of Namo Amituofo. This is incredibly rare in the universe. Usually, one must be born in a Buddha-land or have the opportunity to be taught by a Buddha to have any hope of surrendering to the Buddha."
A Rare Encounter with the Buddha's Light
"The situation where someone from the human world, with such a profound vow, carries Namo Amituofo’s light to deliver demon crowds throughout the Dharma Realm and the universe—this is simply unheard of. The universe is vast, far beyond what humans can imagine. Yet, the depth and breadth of the realms that Practitioner Su and Namo Amituofo reach to deliver beings far exceed anything we demons could ever conceive."
"I originally thought that as a cosmic demon of 5.9 trillion years, I would be perfectly safe within my own territory. After all, in such deep cosmic space, I was just in a tiny corner, incredibly far from Earth. How could I possibly be reached by the Buddha-light and delivered?"
The Inconceivable Laws of
"It sounds like a fairy tale, yet here it is, happening right before my eyes. I can only exclaim: the Buddha’s teachings are truly inconceivable! I later realised that the karmic affinity was drawn by the fact that many of the demon kings and lesser demons among my own 'demon children and grandchildren' had gone to attack Practitioner Su and had already been brought into the Western Land of Dharma Nature."
"Perhaps this is the law of cause and effect; I had to pay the price for attacking Practitioner Su. The price was that my karmic affinity with Practitioner Su manifested, allowing him to naturally locate my demon palace in the universe and shine his light to deliver me. That is how I ended up here today."
Origins in the Dark Nebula
"I was born in a grey, dark nebula in the universe. These dark nebula regions are not like Earth—they are not spherical bodies. Instead, they are gases drifting through the universe, existing in various shapes: ribbons, clusters, clouds, and umbrellas. To describe it using current scientific methods, although these dark nebula belts exist as gas, they possess immense mass and mutual gravitational pull, which allows them to survive in this state in the universe. Because there are no planets or stars nearby, these dark nebula clusters and belts remain in a stable, dormant state. But because there are no stars, there is no massive energy source; the entire cluster remains in a state of grey, dark gloom. I was just a spirit within one of these dark clusters."
"From the moment I was born, my body was filled with grey, dim magnetic fields. To me, there was nothing wrong with that; it was just an ordinary, everyday thing. Since that was my origin, I had no way to compare or distinguish that my magnetic field was any different. The spirits around me were all the same, and I grew up in that environment. In the dark clusters, the elders taught us one thing: we must plunder energy from other planets."
The Art of the Escape
"We had to do this because the dark clusters themselves have no energy to sustain life—not even the heat found in the core of a planet. We had to actively plunder energy from other planets or stars to survive. However, under the conditions of the dark clusters at that time, we could not yet plunder large planets or stars; we could only gain energy by swallowing other dark clusters. My group was just one of many. Through the so-called 'survival of the fittest,' after constant annexation, our cluster gradually became a larger one, eventually becoming a famous dark nebula in the universe."
"In this massive demon realm, I learned many ways to survive. My specialty was the ability to shuttle between different spaces. This allowed me to always appear where my enemies least expected me and launch magical attacks, catching them completely off guard. Whenever they were about to counterattack, I would escape into another space, leaving them bewildered and unable to strike back. This was my greatest skill for surviving in the demon realm. I could travel freely between various spaces in the universe—from surface layers to inner layers, from bright spaces to dark ones. Except for a few extremely deep spaces that I could not yet reach, I could traverse all of them at will."
The Legend of the Amituofo Team
"Gradually, I created my own demon army in the demon realm. Everyone learned this ability, and I did not hesitate to teach it to my descendants, allowing them to use it to conquer territories. One branch of my demon children and grandchildren even developed on Earth. I expanded from a dark cluster in the universe, occupying planets and even stars. This was truly a great achievement for me, Mo Dun—to be able to expand from a low-energy dark cluster to a star cluster with high mass and high energy!"
"One day, I heard some unpleasant news in the universe. It was said that another camp was extremely powerful. Like us, they could travel through various spaces in the universe, and their speed was astonishing. Rumour had it that their speed was several times, even hundreds of times, faster than ours. I thought, 'How is that possible?' We were a team famous in the demon realm for our speed, capable of appearing and disappearing like ghosts in various spaces. It should be impossible to encounter an opponent, let alone a team hundreds or thousands of times faster than us. It was truly unbelievable."
"But to be safe, I sent my demon children and grandchildren to scout the enemy. However, the reports were always unfavourable. They always said the opponent’s speed was too fast to capture, and they couldn't even observe them at close range. Many who got closer simply vanished. I thought, 'Could there really be such a powerful team?'"
A Ruined Empire
"I decided to go and test the enemy myself. Moving at my highest speed, I first scouted the areas that had been swept through. Many famous and grand demon palaces that I had visited before were now silent. The palaces had vanished, leaving only broken walls and ruins."
"This state of total destruction was shocking. These were highly developed demon palaces with long histories, and these massive demon teams were the ones I had looked up to and emulated. How could they have disappeared from the universe overnight? I was deeply puzzled. I heard from some remaining demon beings that this team was the famous 'Namo Amituofo Team,' led by Practitioner Su, who were delivering beings everywhere and sweeping through the universe."
"I could understand the legend of speed in the universe, but how to explain the destruction of the palaces and the disappearance of the demon crowds? The remaining demons told me they might have been invited into Earth by golden light. I observed in a deep meditative state and saw that Earth was very small. I thought, 'This rumour must be wrong. How could such vast, immeasurable demon crowds and palaces be contained within this Earth?' It must be nonsense. But the demons added that they had entered a Buddha-land called the 'Western Land of Dharma Nature'."
"A Buddha-land? I didn't see one on Earth. I entered a deep meditative state again, and still, nothing. What was going on? If it really existed, how could my demonic power fail to detect it? I had no choice but to go to Earth myself. As I moved rapidly toward Earth, some of the demon beings who had disappeared from those regions were gathered there. I asked them why they were all gathered here. They explained that they had come for revenge, while others told me they had decided to join the 'Namo Amituofo Team'."
"I was puzzled. Why abandon their original team? They said they were now leaderless. The 'ancient demons and old demons' had all entered the Western Land of Dharma Nature and joined the salvation team. For us to survive independently in the universe would require a great deal of effort. The demon palaces accumulated over a long time were gone, and rebuilding them would be extremely difficult."
"Furthermore, I heard the accounts of the 'ancient demons and old demons' coming from the Dharma-Nature Land, and I gradually understood that joining the 'Namo Amituofo Team' at this time was the wise choice. I was a bit dismissive, thinking, 'These demons are probably just like stray dogs; having lost their palaces, they have no other choice.' But even so, this 'Namo Amituofo salvation team' seemed to have unfathomable strength."
"I knew a little about the teams of these ancient demons and old demons; with their strength, they could not have been defeated easily. Even the leaders of the demon realm had been invited into the Dharma-Nature Land, so this salvation team must have some real skills. I could not act rashly without fully understanding the enemy. But given their reputation for speed, they might suddenly appear before us one day. After all, that was one of my own favourite tactics. Winning by surprise and catching the enemy off guard is the principle of winning through speed."
"Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su seemed to understand this principle as well, and they had already conquered many demon palaces using this method, leaving the demon crowds with no power to counterattack. After all, being stripped of everything in an instant and losing all demonic power—how could one mount an effective counterattack? I had enough information. Since the opponent wins by speed, I would use my 'escape' ability to respond."
"This was not actually difficult. I only needed to transmit my demon palace rapidly into deeper layers of space. Furthermore, I could shift and transform across various dimensions at high speed, rather than remaining in a single location. By doing this, I could slip between different spaces without being detected by Practitioner Su's team. No matter how fast they were, they could surely never instantly catch up to my palace as it shuttled through the dimensions, right? I modified my palace to possess significant mobility, imbuing it with a massive amount of my 'escape' magic. This allowed the entire structure to travel freely through the various demon realms I had established. I was certain this would be foolproof."
The Collapse of the Demon Realm
"But I truly did not expect that Practitioner Su would lead the golden light to scatter rapidly into every space. I tried to adapt by shifting my palace randomly between dimensions to avoid being illuminated by the Buddha-light. However, at that moment, several of the demon realms I managed were suddenly struck by the golden light simultaneously. The control I held over the demonic power in those spaces vanished instantly; the entire realm was no longer under my command.
I continued to transmit my palace, yet as Practitioner Su's Chao Du progressed, the number of demon realms I could control dwindled. What on earth was happening? Why was the salvation team able to pinpoint the location of my palace and the demon realms I operated with such precision? This did not look good at all! I continued to push my palace into even deeper spaces, but the moment I entered one, I realized it was already filled with golden light."
Caught in the Buddha-Light
"How could I possibly dodge or evade this illumination? I frantically tried to use my magic to push the palace into other dimensions. However, a beam of golden light blocked my magic, and the entire palace became stuck in its current space, unable to move. In an instant, the Buddha-light surrounded the entire palace, and under the brilliance of that golden light, it vanished into thin air. The demon children and grandchildren within the palace also disappeared along with the light.
I chased after them in a panic, but a wave of golden light washed over me, and I was pulled out of my original space. When I finally regained my , I found myself in a very bright . 'Is this the Western Dharma-Nature Land? I never imagined it would be a place like this. It is even brighter than the interior of a star, yet it lacks the scorching, searing heat of one.' The interior of a star is extremely hot—a place of where the soul would suffer the agony of melting. But the brightness here is not like that; being within it, my spirit feels incredibly relaxed and cool.
There is no heat here, only a gentle warmth and a refreshing coolness. It is as if the environment adapts to one's own preferences, leading to different realizations. I felt a sense of unease in my heart. Could this really be a Buddha-land? It is so bright and free; there is little doubt that I have truly been invited into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. I sat on a lotus seat and attempted to use my escape magic, but I could not move a muscle. I could not even shift an inch away from the lotus seat. I asked the beings on the Dharma-Nature Land with a mental note: 'What is going on here?'"
The Truth of the Dharma-Nature Land
"A voice from the higher levels of the Dharma-Nature Land replied: 'This is the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia, on the Western Dharma-Nature Land. This is a world built by Amitabha Buddha and Practitioner Su.' The world here surprised me greatly. With such golden light shining, I could easily see spaces beyond spaces from within the Dharma-Nature Land, which is something that was never easy for me to do before.
With my original demonic power, I could only penetrate different spaces, but I could only know the conditions inside a space once I had entered it. Yet, here on the Western Dharma-Nature Land, I can easily see into other dimensions and observe the situations in various spaces. This is truly inconceivable to me. At that time, Practitioner Su was vigorously performing Chao Du across the ten directions of the Dharma Realm, including the universe. Only then did I realize that I had been invited into the Dharma-Nature Land by the magnified light of Practitioner Su at that very moment.
I looked closely and discovered that Practitioner Su was still rapidly performing Chao Du throughout the universe. I had originally thought that Practitioner Su, accompanied by Amitabha Buddha, was tracking my location, but I later understood that was not the case. Practitioner Su, through countless billions of manifestations—even trillions—was instantly present and filling every corner of the universe."
A Power Beyond Comprehension
"I thought Practitioner Su was traveling rapidly through space, but in reality, they were appearing simultaneously and synchronously in all layers of space, constantly expanding and spreading. Their speed of movement was indeed hundreds of times faster than my demonic escape. The speed was so dizzying that if I had not entered the Dharma-Nature Land, my own 'demon eyes' would never have been able to comprehend it. The team led by Practitioner Su, with Amitabha Buddha, formed a golden light that looked like a star cluster, rapidly enveloping every space, planet, and dark nebula in the universe. They instantly covered and opened every layer of space, destroying the demon palaces within. Wow! As I watched, besides being filled with admiration, I also felt a deep sense of fear. Why didn't I investigate such a powerful and formidable opponent more carefully in the beginning?
Since I was dismantled right in front of the salvation team, if I had known about this situation earlier, perhaps I would have left the area immediately and done my utmost to avoid the Amitabha Buddha salvation team.
This is truly the Wisdom of the Buddha, and it is truly the Buddha's great power, great courage, and great conduct. Only in this way can immeasurable and boundless beings be saved. Although I am a being of the Demon Realm, I am still very sensitive to the display of capabilities and the manifestation of energy. I know that the universe has its own universal principles. Practitioner Su, leading Amitabha Buddha, has continued to perform Chao Du to this day and remains invincible. They must be the ones who stand firmly on the side of the universal principles. We in the Demon Realm, by contrast, have no way to stand firm; after all, we are not in accordance with the universal principles, so we cannot reverse any situation.
On the Dharma-Nature Land, I tried to use my demonic power to escape, to leave the lotus seat and the space of the Dharma-Nature Land. However, no matter how I cast my spells, they had no effect. I tried to escape for a long time, yet I remained sitting on the lotus seat, completely motionless.
Seeing that all my demon crowds were also sitting peacefully on their lotus seats, it was a truly rare sight. Although we belong to the same demonic team, there are still differences in our levels and spaces. The higher the spiritual space of the Demon Realm, the more clearly one can see the lower spaces, but the reverse is not true. However, here on the Western Dharma-Nature Land, everyone is equal. There is no distinction between high and low, and no difference in spatial permeability; everyone can see what is happening right now equally. Moreover, on the Dharma-Nature Land, I can see Practitioner Su continuously performing Chao Du across all levels of the ten directions of the Dharma Realm. I am truly humbled. This speed of movement does not just refer to the speed of a spirit moving through space, but rather the instantaneous transfer of Practitioner Su's countless billions of manifestations across space, which then expand the moment they enter a dimension.
No matter which type of speed it is, it is very, very astonishing. If Practitioner Su were not leading the team to continuously shuttle through various spaces, I doubt anyone could have the speed to keep up with Practitioner Su's pace of Chao Du. This is something I can confirm from my long experience of traversing different spaces with my 'demon escape.' Such speed is truly extraordinary; this must be a skill Practitioner Su has cultivated through years and years of performing Chao Du! What surprised me even more is that Amitabha Buddha appears to be following Practitioner Su through the spaces, yet to me, it looks more like He appears simultaneously the moment Practitioner Su enters each space.
Is this what Practitioner Su calls the 'Universal Buddha' of Amitabha Buddha? It seems that even as a member of the Demon Realm, there are still many things I cannot know. Even with a history of 5.9 trillion years in the universe, I have never seen such skills. Encountering a team with such capabilities, I have to admit defeat. However, it is precisely because I entered the Dharma-Nature Land that I have the opportunity to learn the true face of such skills; I suppose this is a blessing in disguise. Watching Practitioner Su continuously sweep through the universe and the ten directions of the Dharma Realm, I also feel a longing for such skills.
After all, this was something I had long been proud of—being able to shuttle through various spaces at a very high speed. Yet, Practitioner Su's speed is even faster, and the way they shuttle through spaces is so resolute. Every time Practitioner Su breaks through, it is not just into spaces they are familiar with; even into deeper, more unknown spaces, Practitioner Su can charge in with unhesitating speed, bringing Amitabha Buddha to magnify the light.
In this regard, I understand Practitioner Su's determination to save the world and all beings. On the other hand, it is also because Practitioner Su trusts in Amitabha Buddha, this immense pillar of support, that they can have such Chao Du capability. Thinking of this, I wonder, if I were to officially join the salvation team now, would I also be able to contribute my own strength at such a speed? That is something I will have to explore further.
But as things stand, there is truly nowhere to go. I can only listen to the sutras on the Dharma-Nature Land and watch as Practitioner Su continues to break through various demon realms and completely destroy countless demon palaces. This is, in fact, a destined part of the Demon Realm's path at this very moment.
Faced with such a massive, powerful salvation team, and faced with such an irresistible force, I suspect that the Dharma-Nature Land will be the common destination for many demon beings.
The above is everything I have observed and measured while currently on the Dharma-Nature Land. If this can serve as a reference for my demon friends and elders who have karmic affinity with me, then so be it.
